When Westside City Resort opens in the third quarter of 2026, it will be the largest single integrated-resort development in Philippine history. Three hotel towers across 31 hectares of Entertainment City master plan. 2,500 rooms — including the world's largest Mövenpick, the 1,530-room Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside. A 2,000-position casino floor. Four theatres, including the 2,000-seat Grand Opera House, the first of its kind in the country. A 3,000-seat performance hall. A luxury spa and wellness centre. ₱73 billion (US$1.25 billion) of Megaworld investment, 75% complete and on schedule. The fifth integrated resort to land on the Manila Bay reclamation district — and the property that will, when it unveils, change the scale of what an Entertainment City booking looks like.

What We Know So Far

Westside City has been under construction since 2019. The original concept arrived branded as Resorts World Bayshore under Megaworld's Suntrust Resort Holdings subsidiary — a continuation of the Resorts World pedigree that the group has run since 2009 at what became Newport World Resorts. The COVID pandemic delayed the construction timeline by three years. The project was re-branded to Westside City Resort. The Q3 2026 grand opening was confirmed in 2025.

As of the most recent reporting, the project is 75% complete. The three hotel towers stand. The casino floor build-out is well advanced. The Grand Opera House is in late-stage interior finishing. Megaworld's investor materials describe an opening sequence that begins with the Grand Westside Hotel (the Mövenpick-branded tower) in Q1-Q2 2026, then the casino and the Grand Opera House in Q3 2026, then the remaining two hotel towers in late 2026 and into 2027.

When it opens at scale, Westside City will be the largest integrated-resort complex in Southeast Asia by hotel-room count.

How the Arrival Will Work

The geographic facts: Westside City sits on Asean Avenue, Entertainment City, Parañaque, immediately adjacent to the existing four Entertainment City integrated resorts. The Manila Bay reclamation district that holds Solaire, Okada, and City of Dreams now adds a fifth property on the same reclaimed coastline — visible from any of the three when Westside's exterior lighting comes online.

From NAIA Terminal 3: ten to fifteen minutes by car via the NAIA Expressway south. From Terminal 1, similar. From Clark International Airport, the standard ninety minutes to two hours via NLEX-SCTEX. The property will operate a complimentary luxury-sedan transfer programme for confirmed guests, with multi-tier service calibrated to room category.

The defining architectural feature for the arrival experience: a dedicated sky bridge that will connect the Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside lobby directly to the casino-and-entertainment complex. Guests booked at the Mövenpick will walk from registration to the gaming floor, the theatres, or the dining outlets without crossing surface streets — the closest model is the multi-tower sky-bridge configuration at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, scaled to the Westside footprint.

The Three Hotel Towers

The three hotel towers under the Westside umbrella will deliver approximately 2,500 rooms in aggregate, with one tower in each of three commercial tiers.

Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside — the largest of the three — will hold approximately 1,530 rooms, making it the world's largest Mövenpick property when it opens. The Mövenpick brand sits within the Accor portfolio (alongside Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, and the rest of the Accor stable) at the premium register. The 1,530-room count is significant: it places Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside among the largest single-brand hotels in Southeast Asia and signals Megaworld's calibration of the property toward the high-volume tourism and convention base.

The second hotel tower — naming partner to be confirmed at full launch — will run the ultra-luxury category alongside the casino floor. The third hotel tower will carry the design-forward boutique register.

For the affluent first-time Westside booking, the hotel choice will distinguish the experience. The Mövenpick is the volume-and-convenience choice; the ultra-luxury tower will be the Forbes 5-Star equivalent; the boutique will run smaller and more curated.

The Casino Floor

The Westside casino floor will operate at 2,000 gaming positions — a deliberate scale that places it in the upper tier of Entertainment City properties. The exact table-versus-electronic-gaming-machine split will be finalised closer to opening; current reporting suggests a balanced mix calibrated for both the high-volume Asian-tourist segment and the affluent local regular.

The floor's design language has been described in early renderings as contemporary luxury with a theatrical lighting palette — calibrated to fit between Solaire's quiet refinement and Okada's spectacle. Stadium-style baccarat will run across multiple pits. The VIP gaming salons will sit off the main floor with the standard segregated entrances. Multi-currency operations will accept peso, US dollar, Hong Kong dollar, Singapore dollar, and Korean won at selected tables.

The Grand Opera House and Four Theatres

The single most-distinctive component of Westside's master plan is the Grand Opera House — a 2,000-seat theatre purpose-built for opera, classical music, and international touring acts, the first dedicated opera house in any Philippine integrated resort, and reportedly the first dedicated opera house in the country at this scale.

Beyond the Grand Opera House, the property's performance-venue inventory will include three additional theatres at varying scales — touring-act venues, smaller-scale performance rooms, and intimate cabaret formats — plus the 3,000-seat performance hall for the larger international touring schedule. The aggregate performance-venue capacity makes Westside, on opening day, the largest concentration of entertainment infrastructure under one integrated-resort umbrella in the country.

For affluent travellers planning the trip around a specific show, the four-theatre programming calendar at Westside will, on opening, dramatically expand the Manila international touring slate.

The Dining

Megaworld's dining roster for Westside has not been fully announced, but the publicly confirmed outlets include Café by Westside (all-day dining, Filipino and international), Zabana Bar (ground-floor cocktail and lounge), Plunge Bar (a fifth-floor open-deck bar), and LaMeza (specialty dining). The Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside will additionally bring the Mövenpick-brand signature dining outlets — the brand's all-day buffet programme is well-established.

Expect the full dining roster to expand significantly between opening day and Q1 2027 as the remaining outlets across the three hotel towers come online.

The Loyalty Programme

The expected loyalty structure: the Mövenpick component will earn Accor Live Limitless (ALL) programme currency, layering into the broader Accor portfolio. The Westside property-wide programme — to be confirmed at launch — will likely operate as a Megaworld-branded loyalty layer above the Accor ALL programme.

For affluent regulars who carry ALL status from Accor properties elsewhere — Singapore Sofitel, Bangkok Pullman, Sydney Mövenpick — the credentials will transfer.

How Westside Will Compare

When Westside opens in Q3 2026, the Entertainment City landscape becomes a five-property cluster. Solaire is the Forbes 5-Star refined-luxury reference. Okada Manila is the spectacle. City of Dreams Manila is the design-and-art property. Newport World Resorts is the convenience property. Westside will be the scale-and-entertainment-infrastructure property — the largest hotel-room count, the deepest theatre programming, and the world's biggest Mövenpick.

For affluent travellers attending an international touring concert or opera production, Westside will be the default booking. For MICE events at scale — the conventions that previously routed through Newport or Solaire's ballrooms — Westside's 3,000-seat performance hall and expansive convention spaces will redirect the calendar. For first-time international visitors, Westside will join the rotation alongside the four established Entertainment City integrated resorts as a fifth distinct register.

Beyond Manila Bay, the Solaire Resort North property in Quezon City serves the affluent Filipino local; the upcoming New Coast Hotel Manila brings DigiPlus's integrated-resort programme to Roxas Boulevard in January 2026; Solaire Cavite is Bloomberry's third operating territory; and Hann Reserve Clark opens Phase 1 in 2027 with Banyan Tree, Sofitel, and InterContinental partners.

When Westside Opens

The current timeline runs in three phases.

Q1-Q2 2026 — Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside soft opening. The first phase of the property accepts hotel guests while the casino and theatres complete final fit-out.

Q3 2026 — Grand opening. The casino floor, the Grand Opera House, the 3,000-seat performance hall, and the second hotel tower come online. Megaworld's marketing materials cite Q3 2026 as the headline launch window.

Late 2026 to 2027 — the third hotel tower and the remaining property amenities (the luxury spa and wellness centre, additional dining outlets) phase in.

For affluent travellers planning the first Westside booking, the Q3 2026 grand opening window will deliver the property at full integrated-resort scale. Bookings for the opening week will, predictably, require advance commitment.
