BnF95
1.) Create a law that people in public offices must declare ALL assets held by him/herself and his/her family. Such assets that are personally owned (including assets transfered to family members within a 6 month period) are confiscated and placed in the national trust (ie. run by the government). 2.) Create a law that places a flat 10% tax on everything. Income, excise, withholding, or whatever. Then add a clause that forbids the government from creating any additional taxes. 3.) If during the term of the public official, the government earns money, he gets his assets back, if not, they become property of the government and can be sold off to earn money for the government. If this is done, watch the number of crooks in government disappear. Quote Link to comment
skitz
expanded nepotism (parang expanded valued added tax) if one of the family is already government service in any branchautomatic nobody else in the family should be allowed to work/serve in the government already ex. binay is already the mayor of makati, his son should not be allowed to run for councilor or barangay chairman etc., only after the older binay steps down, before the younger one can run for office.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> AGREE AKO DITO! skitz
Quote Link to comment

Just what Ramos did to attract foreign investors. Hey, I don't know about you guys, but personally, I actually felt the "economic boom" during the heydays of Mr. Ramos. Parang unfair ang tax breaks for foreginers, I know, but you see, we are competing against the likes of VietNam, Indonesia, etc. Sorry na lang tayo, we need the dollars more than they need us... so, kapit sa patalim kumbaga. Other factors kung kaya umayaw sa Bataan ang TI was NPA harrassment (Matell pulled out because of this), NO INFRASTRUCTURE (wafer manufacturing needs lots of clean water and stable source of electricity -- hindi pwedeng isang kidlat lang eh brownout na). Over half (and perhaps up to 75%) of the Metro Manila population (not even including other metro areas such as Metro Cebu and Metro Davao which do not have the LRT/MRT) ride in jeeps. The politicians know jeepneys are a inefficient polluting mode of transportation, but the lobbying by the Jeepney groups can paralyze the country. Instead, implement a law tightening the regulations on all vehicles as well as drivers.1.) Vehicle Registration --> Free (or very low) for the first 5 years, then 30% of the list price of the vehicle on the 6th year, escalating by 5% every year thereafter. This will encourage vehicle owners to junk (we can salvage the parts and process them) their old polluting vehicles and purchase new ones. So as to not hit the pocket too much, perhaps the 100% luxury tax on vehicles can be removed or lowered to 10%. 2.) Driver Licencing --> Tighten the damned tests. Drivers with X tickets cannot renew for a period of Y years. Okay, its a little basic, but I'm sure it can be streamlined and made workable. Quote Link to comment
