mason_rod
Look at Me, Look at You.... I think that was sung by Marlena Shaw! A personal favorite of mine by the same artist is Rhythm of Love! Sorry. It was sung by Dave Mason. 70's band :flowers: Quote Link to comment

sliderule
Lately I've been hunting for 70's movies in Makati Cinema Square. Last time, I got some eral gems : "The Wild Geese", "Escape from Athena", "French Connection II", "Serpico". Makes me think back of the days in Cubao when movies cost 2.50 a ticket. Walang pasok bukas!!!! Darned! Talo San Beda kahapon. Congrats to UE ! Quote Link to comment
sliderule
A blast from the past Sony Betamax Toploading :headsetsmiley: If you put something light on top of the lid and you Eject, titilapon yung object na yun hanggang bubong. How I yearned for a Betamax back then! Didn't really matter what the movie was, basta may Betamax pwede na! And it was such a privilege to see a movie on videotape before they showed it in cinemas. Kahit "film-transfer" ok lang, basta mauna ka. Ngayon pag hindi "DVD-copy" forget it! The first video camera would have a separate betamax-like contraption you slung on your shoulder and the camera itself was enormous. Black & white pa. Compare that to one of those Nokia phone/cameras now. First x-rated movie I saw on a VCR was "Autobiography of a Flea". The wired remote-control liberated one from having to stand up and fast forward thru the dialogue scenes and jump straight to the action parts. Ang ingay ingay pa, so bistado ka kung panay ang fast-forward/rewind mo. "Hoy! Ano pinapanuod mo dyan....??" Quote Link to comment
storm
We had our first betamax player in 1978 or 79 yata. Tapos you need a rewinder para di masira ang motor. It became a hit and video rental stores mushroomed like hot pandesal. I remember then that if we want to see clear movies, we must rent the oldies copied from original tapes or recorded from Laser discs. Throughout the 80s, betamax was more popular than VHS, then the VHS became the norm, then the laser discs in 1989, then the VCD and everything changed when DVD arrived. The first betamovie I saw was Emmanuelle. Soft but naughty! Quote Link to comment
