Duterte has developed good relations with the local NPA in the Davao area. He thought he can do the same for the entire country. He was wrong. The NPA are localized bandits no longer following a strict central command. By now Duterte and his men have realized what many have known before - those oldies that call themselves the communist leaders are leaders of no one. The local NPA commanders run a business, they do it for money. They have no interest in peace.

The old-school communist revolutionaries have lost their relevance after communists countries worldwide have returned to capitalist system.

 

NPA, the armed wing of the local communist party, has lost their grassroots support and has degenerated into banditry and extortion. Local people no longer offer refuge to them when they are on the run.

 

This is what the military has been waiting for. It is easier to track down and corner bandits than revolutionaries.

 

Joma Sison's worst mistake was to go on a comfortable "exile" in Europe. That move alienated him from the party members who are slugging it out in the hinterlands while he sips his tea in his European villa.

For me, I judge Duterte based in what he accomplished, not by what he said. So far, he's OK, despite his foul mouth.

 

I also judged your idol, BS Aquino, by what he accomplished, too -- or the utter lack of it-- Luneta Hostage mess, DAP mess, LTO Licence ID Computerization mess, LTO Car Plate mess, SAF 44 massacre, PPP non-event, LRT/MRT maintenance contract corruption and operations failure, etc... and the latest issue today, the Dengue Vaccine fiasco. He failed in all my criteria for an effective president.

Sa US malabo mangyari ito simply because they will have a nightmare dealing with lawsuits malulugi ang gobyerno and Sanofi. Think about the psychological effect nito sa mga magulang at batang nabigyan ng vaccine, after 2 years kapag nagkasakit (esp. high fever) na yung bata iisipin na baka ito yung side effect ng vaccine.
