Proud To Be Fat?

I used to be fat, and masasabi ko na ayoko na maging overweight ulit. Dati 94kg ako, ngayon 83kg. I lost 11kg in 4 years. Gusto ko mabawasan pa ng 6kg.

 

Dati nung mataba ako mga 2012, ang baba ng tingin ko sa sarili ko. At hindi nakakatulog kapag sinasabihan ka ng ibang tao na "ang taba mo na!" Or "ang laki mo na!" Tapos may kasama pang tawa. Ang sizes ng damit ko laging XXL or XL. Mabilis ako mapagod kapag nag eexercise or basketball. Tingin sa akin ng ibang tao matakaw agad or malakas kumain porket malaki yung chan. At siyempre halos walang babaeng nagkakagusto sa akin dahil mataba na tapos mababa pa tingin sa sarili.

 

Buti nagsipag ako mag gym, basketball at tumakbo these past 4 years. Nag reduce na rin ako sa pagkain para mas maayos ang weight loss. Goal ko na magkaroon ng magandang katawan at maalis karamihan ng taba. Hindi ko na hahayaan sarili ko maging mataba ulit.

Although I do agree that being overweight is not an achievement for some, gaining extra pounds can be considered by some as such.

 

There are those kasi na kahit anong gawing kain medyo underweight because of medical conditions (i.e. hyperthyroidism), which can make it difficult to manage weight. So, for them gaining a little extra pounds can be considered as an achievement. Keeping the healthy weight on though is another problem. My emphasis though is on HEALTHY weight. Meaning their BMI is within the normal range. Kaya lang in the eyes of some "tumaba" ang mga taong ganito.

 

On the other side of the spectrum, meron din naman kasing tumaba because of medical reasons (i.e. hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome in women, etc).

 

My point lang siguro is, let's not be quick to judge. These people are not proud, they may project that image in order to avoid being ridiculed in public, but we do not know their internal struggles especially when they are on their own. Siguro, let's just look the other way. Let's not add more societal pressure on these people. They get that from their families, friends, relatives, etc. As for those na talagang lazy lang and sobrang lakas lang kumain, let's leave them alone, it's their life anyway. As long as they don't do anything stupid to hurt us or other people around them.

 

They may not look attractive, so let's not waste our time on them.

 

I should know, I lost 30lbs in the last 6 months. And I did it for myself not because society dictates that I should be a size 4 in my biggest.

Ako hypothyroid ako kaya hirap ang katawan ko tumunaw ng taba. Kahit pa nag maintenance ako ng gamot for my condition ganun pa din. Hinayaan ko na lang na tumaba ako, Kahit anong gawin ko wala din naman mababawas.

 

I don't care if people see me as fat - wala ako pake sa iniisip ng iba about me. Atleast ako I practice good hygiene (from head to toe) so kahit sobrang pawisan ako hindi ako mabantot or amoy anghit dala ng katabaan. Tapos pag alam ko makakaabala sa ibang tao ang katabaan ko ako na mismo ang nag give way tulad na lang sa pagsakay sa lrt pag siksikan na. Mga ganun ba. Tsaka hindi ako slob or balahurang tao, kahit papano I mind other people naman.

 

Hindi ko pinagmamalaki ang katabaan ko pero i learned to adjust accordingly. Para sa kin, chubby is yummy. :P

5 years ago, wala lang sa akin ung pagiging mataba. kaen lang ako ng kaen. nkaka 8 extra rice nga ako sa mang inasal eh haha. Until one day, napansin ko lang ambilis ko mapagod. Aakyat lang ng stairs sa LRT station hingal na hingal na ako. Ang masasabi ko, love your body. Pero pag health na pinaguusapan, think twice. Consult your physician pag may nararamdaman ka ng mali sa katawan mo.

i do have fat friends too an i love them the same as my fit ones.

but i dont agree when they say being fat is something to be proud of. maybe they can say it the other way,"im contented with this body". but to be proud of it? nope. know why? cause its unhealthy. am not even talking bout u should have a built and muscular or sexy body. im talking bout being strong and healthy. and unfortunately u cant say fat people are healthy am sorry.

they must have that urge to atleast

care of their body by trimming down and not having high cholesterol intake which could in the future lead to heart attack.

im not fat, never been fat,but in the past i still had high level

of cholesterol, so thats why i went back

to gym. i dont want to be skinny but strong and healthy. besides, i dont think am skinny anymore since i gained muscles.

sometimes i feel lazy but remember, its you yourself alone who can tell u what to do.

so at times u feel lazy, think why u started in the first place.

motivate yourself to set

goals, and not by getting motivation from others.
