True, depende sa tao kung pano gagamitin yung natutunan, but still there are fields that offer more than the others... how much kaya growth sa CC? I am not trying to demean the CC industry, please don't get me wrong... Again as I've said I'm in fact looking at this as an option that's why Im asking for inputs... Thanks  Quote Link to comment

Immortal666
Hey guys, this is slightly OT, pero di naman ata. Anyone work for a BPO or Business Process Outsourcing unit? It's like being in a call center pero instead of taking in calls, backend job na data entry and data analysis ang ginagawa. That's my basic idea of it and that's what been described to me as well. I'd like to know more about it, kung paano yung work dun compared to a normal call center setting at paano yung metrics. Some CCs naman are starting to expand their operations to include BPO work na din. Anyone care to expound on BPOs? Quote Link to comment

astig_tsubibo
tama c ex-bitager, me din may onting share sa call center thing na yan kasi in my present situation..napabuti sakin ang pagiging agent ko dati..tech support din ako sa ortigas (bldg sa likod ng Rob galle na tinamaan ng sunog :boo: ) DSL account, so i worked there for a year and 2 mos tapos i resigned kasi napagod nako e..i live in laguna then i was assigned sa ortigas kasi nandun ang tech account but when i applied sa company b4 i thought sa makati lang me ma assign.. so anyways, nag resign na nga ako..napansin ko lang na napakadali lang ulit na makahanap ng job..minsan nga working ka pa e kinukuha ka na ng kabilang center at ewan ko lang ha pero sa observation ko when you transfer from one center to a different center..ang sweldo mu walang ibang pupuntahan kundi pataas because other centers consider the training ang the experiences na nakuha mu from your previous company  maganda pa dun e pag tech accnt ka e they sponsor you s mga certifications o kaya mga trainings..basta anything that can make you better in doing your job..kasi sa call center, tao ang asset nila kaya sa tao ang investment ng mga yan..(cant speak for everybody though, yun lang ang naranasan ko e..baka kasi ang iba may bad experiences). speaking for tech..ok talaga.. kasi magagamit mu talaga yung natutunan mu sa labas ng office.. so lumipat na nga ako ng center..edi mas maayos na sahod tapos the company sponsored yung mga microsoft certs ko kaya wala na..iba na rin ang dating..IT na wohooo!! so from being an agent unti unti lang naman e, tyagaan lang din. it also depend kung anu ang plano mu..gusto mu ba yung OPS side (TL, OM etc) gusto mu ba yung admin (HR) or gusto mu maging sa IT (on site engineer o kaya system admin), or sa training and quality (trainer, QA) nasayo rin naman yan e..di lang naman calls ang nasa call center diba.. :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment

Guest airmax
Very interesting thread. Now its my opportunity to share my opinion on this kze, I'm also one of those critics of call center that woke up ending in a call center industry :thumbsupsmiley: 2 years, writer/segment prod ako for a certain investigative program. Ok masaya. exciting and most important of all i was able to pracrtice what i study for. ComArts. Pero, gaya nga ng nasabi ng bawat posts d2, if you are not happy na with what you are doing, you have the option to explore... Oo explore, that's what I did. From sunday bulletin to jobsreet- form Makati - Ortigas. And I always neglect the opportunity of applying in a call center. Pero when in times of trouble, there is always a friend to lean on.... And in this situation, prayer and confidence are my last resort. :hypocritesmiley: Sa isip ko, graduate ako , :thumbsupsmiley: i'm confident and i'm a hardworker :thumbsupsmiley:... I can work in a call center... :headsetsmiley: But the question is paano... So after a day, a phone call change my life. Yun na pala un.. and what they say the rest is history.... I'm now on my probationary period going to regularization by October. Yeah bah baby :mtc:<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Sa lahat ng mga critics, try it and see for yourself. nothin to loose naman e. Guest airmax
Quote Link to comment
Guest airmax
Some CCs naman are starting to expand their operations to include BPO work na din. Anyone care to expound on BPOs?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is so true; if we really look into it, the industry that the call centers belong to have existed long before the "First Call Centers" (Sykes, Etel..) set foot on Philippine soil. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is the real industry that Call Centers came from. Accenture (formerly Anderson's), Watson Wyatt, Mckenzie and Co. are just some examples of these companire who have been here since the early 90's. We may not hear them a lot since just like CCs, they also work in the background for both local or foreign clients. Ever wonder who made you company payroll system? time keeping? database? HRD information systems? even your company in-house training may have been started (or still currently being serviced) by a BPO company. So don't think that Filipinos are walking in the dark with CCs since the idea behind this has existed longer than most people know. So why has it only made noise now? Its because the demand for Outsourced Customer Service is bigger than ever both here and (especially) abroad. In the US you hear of companies rightsizing (a fancy word for laying off) manpower to focus only on keeping employees that are directly affecting their core business. (Mainly product development, finance, sales and the like). The rest which are not considered part of the core are then outsourced (HR and IT projects, recruitment, triaining and yes...CUSTOMER CARE!) to save highly on fixed costs (ex. salary/benefits). The fact of the matter is that, Call Centers (especially the right ones) are here to stay. It may be because of the need for CSRs now but it could later be IT professionals, HEadhunters and even medical experts (which is starting to blossom) in the future. If you are in he right BPO, hey know what they are doing and they understand wht the demand is, thus they will adjust their services accordingly. My tip to my fellow Call Center pips: "Be always open to change". Flexibiliy is what will keep your career in a call center (or to be politically correct: BPO) strong. I hope I may have answered some questions about the true nature of this industry. Sorry I took so long guys/gals...now LOG IN!!!! :headsetsmiley: Quote Link to comment
monsignor28
eto story ko about abt how i landed in a call center job... pano nga ba... ang alam ko naghahanap lang ako ng day job sa isang recruitmrnt agency sa makati...
