My mom just sold a piece of our land for 200K and she intends to keep it as money for when she grows older. I told her it wouldn't be wise to have it just sit in a bank earning 1% interest. I was telling her to invest in Mutual Funds but she was thinking of putting the money in a time deposit. I'm not that knowledgeable in Mutual Funds to convince her otherwise. Can you give suggestions on what would be the best way to invest the money and hopefully earn some interest on it?

What I mean by metalheads is that you listen to heavy metal music and its various permutations (traditional, black, death, thrash, speed, power, stoner, industrial, goth, grind). Nu-metal (or mallcore. i.e. Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park) is not included since it's not really metal, just whiny, lame rock. I'm referring to real, proud and loud, bonafide metal bands such as: IRON MAIDEN, BLACK SABBATH, MEGADETH, SLAYER, TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX, old-METALLICA, old-SEPULTURA, PANTERA, IN FLAMES, CARCASS, NAPALM DEATH, EMPEROR, DARKTHRONE, IMMORTAL, AT THE GATES, KREATOR, MORBID ANGEL, DEATH, DEICIDE and many others. So are there any here?
