Tom-Tado Posted September 18, 2007 Share Posted September 18, 2007 Sakuraba is fighting with Hero's (K1's MMA promotion) he left Pride a few years back (tail end of 2005 I think) that's why he wasn't one of the Pride fighters brought over by the UFCyeah I was surprised why he was fighting in Elite maybe he pissed Dana off (dana seriously needs to check his ego with him blacklisting fighters he doesn't like, we could have Barnett in the octagon by now, and that to me would be the next best thing to bringing Fedor over) Actually Robbie had lost 3 of his last 4 fights in the UFC, so that's why his contract wasn't renewed. In those fights against Nick Diaz, Evan Tanner, and Pete Spratt, he looked like he didn't have his head on right, and he admitted that his training wasn't as intensive as in the past due to some injuries...at least he's winning now, maybe that'll get the attention of the UFC again. P.S. I didn't know that Matt Hughes put up his own team now! He's no longer affiliated with Team Miletich, and nows goes under Team Hughes...Robbie is under him as well. Quote Link to comment

It was his second win in his last four fights since returning from a major motorcycle accident that nearly killed him and ended his fighting career.
