Duterte's Presidency : Expectations, Controversies, Rants, Etc.

Saka wag natin kalimutan ang sinabi ni Digong "BBM is my friend and I don't want to hurt him" ... eh di ba may kasabihan birds of the same feather flock together.

Is there someone here from QC who can testify to the effects of this?

QC crime rate bumaba

http://tempo.com.ph/2016/08/03/qc-crime-rate-bumaba/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+com%2FvfMb+%28Tempo+-+News+in+a+Flash%29

(Vanne Elaine P. Terrazola)

Im throwing the same argument and question, hihintayin mo din bang mangyari pa ito sa anak mo o asawa mo??

Bigyan ng lolipop pag naubos kasi good boy

Another one of his campaign promises done in 1 month's time

Next step is to see what action and results will these hotlines generate

Slow 911 response? Dial 8888

http://www.rappler.com/nation/141584-slow-911-response-dial-8888-pnp-malacanang?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=referral&utm_medium=share_bar

If 911 is for emergencies, the 8888 hotline is a direct line to Malacañang for reporting instances of corruption or ineptitude.

"Isipin niyo kung kayo ay hindi nirespondehan ng pulis, tawag nila sa 8888, diretso kay presidente 'yan... sigurado mamalasin 'yung pulis kung hindi gumagalaw (Think about it: if you don't get police response, call 8888, that's a direct line to the President. Whoever that cop is will be in bad favor)," Dela Rosa told reporters in a press conference, the same day the 911 hotline was launched.

He added: "So nagcocomplement each other 'yan. Kung hindi nag respond sa 911... 'yung 8888, complain kayo do'n (So the two hotlines complement each other. If they fail to respond when you call 911, call 8888 and complain there)."

The 911 national hotline will be patterned after the existing service in Davao City, where President Rodrigo Duterte was mayor for more than two decades. For now, however, the national version is limited only to police units.

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said he is confident the hotlines would roll out smoothly soon enough. The 8888 hotline, for instance, will be building on an existing line used by the Civil Service Commission.

Speaking of human rights, nasaan itong mga nagsisipagsulputan na human rights advocates dito sa thread when the SAF 44 were slaughtered? Human rights advocates nga ba or selective human rights advocates with emphasis on the adjective "selective."

I just hate the hypocrisy of human rights advocates na ito. Extra judicial killings have been happening naman noon pa.

They were not unarmed nor were they detained by authorities. They were on the offensive carrying out a legitimate police operation. That they were ambushed by rebel groups is not a human rights issue. From one perspective, it was an encounter against government forces incidental in times of armed conflict - and killing enemy forces is but an incident of war. But for me it was a criminal act by the MILF and BIFF, plain and simple. The Duterte government should first hold into account those terrorist-harboring rebels for the SAF 44 before they even talk peace with them. The same goes for the NPA. Sincere peace talks can only happen if both parties are willing to agree to a cease fire as they happen. Sabi nga ni Francis M., you can't talk peace and have a gun.

agree on the peace talks issue.. and the CPP-NPA-NDF group is now in disarray because not all members agrees on the peace talks and bowing to the current admin. Some of them just really want to k*ll soldiers for their fallen comrades. Thats why this militant army cant easily respond for a mutual unilateral ceasefire declaration dahil alam nilang hindi susunod lahat ng members nila at wala naman magagawa para kontrolin ito.

mahirap at masalimuot itong hakbang na ito but the 1st step has been made, that is to reach out and listen. Na hindi ginawa ng mga previous admins. The next steps are crucial.
