Dammit! Sold out yung Wolverine # 62! Ano ba meron dito??? I was able to find a copy in Filbar's Megamall but the last coppy was not in good condition by my standards so I passed it up. I should've asked Filbar's Marikina (I visited the place before dropping by at CO Gale and Megamall). Sold out din sa CQ! Hay, I'll try to check DK if they still have. Wish me luck. I'm just getting this for the Divided We Stand tie-in.

 

I had a nice experience in Filbar's Marikina although I have to cut my stay short because may lakad pa kami ng kasama ko. I wasn't able to look into latest issues (Sorry reachard, pero may mga nasulyapan akong mga Sinestro Corps dun at ilang Messiah Complex so mukhang makukumpleto mo pa) because I focused on the back issues.

 

Some interesting finds are Sidekick # 1, Supreme # 1 at iba pa na nakalimutan ko na. I wasn't really looking for Modern Age comics and I'm surprised na ang daming Silver Age at yung iba siguro eh Golden Age.

 

I got Claw # 1, Journey Into Mystery (Vol 2) # 10 & 11. Dami pang mga luma na iba pero ito lang kinuha ko and I'm happy. Nakita ko yung mga Wizard dubn at ok pa yung mga kopya ah, haven't looked at the basketball cards and the Hero Clix kase di ko hilig (maybe yung mga cards pero hindi ko hilig lately). And I was surprised na may mga bck issues din sa Megamall kaso di ko pa nakita. Next Sunday na lang.

 

Filbar's Marikina has already sold out their Wolvie #62, bro.. Wala na din, coz I got their last issue.. Kasi hindi ko din ito pinatabi, but when I saw the good reviews, I had to have it.. Ano meron dito? Well, I do think that fans of Jason Aaron are gobbling it up.. hahaha.. I am sure you will find some issues nito, bro, medyo last week pa lang naman siya na-release eh.. Kung wala sa Druids, try Comic Quest, North EDSA.. Call them up first para sure ka..

 

Glad you were happy with your visit at Riverbanks, bro.. Yung mga old Wizards ko na andun are really in good condition coz after reading an issue, I just stack it in one of my bookshelves.. Kaya medyo naalagaan ng panahon.. hahaha.. With regards to the old comicbooks you saw, these are consignments too.. Medyo matagal-tagal na din itong naka-stock dito at hinihintay ko ngang i-replenish ng may-ari but I guess, wala na siyang iba eh.. Ang dami ko ng nakuha dun sa pile na yun.. Goldmine talaga!!! :thumbsupsmiley:

 

One mor thing, Filbar's usually puts on sale their non-moving comics after 6 months every end of the month.. Usually, dahil malapit ako dito, ako ang nauuna.. Dito ko minsan nakukuha ko yung mga #1 issues ko na pang-collection lang.. pang-baka-sakali na tumaas.. (Immortal Iron Fist #1, The Programme #1, Brave and the Bold -2007 #1-3, Friendly Neigborhood Spidey Annual #1, etc..).. At dito ko din nakumpleto yung the whole Bart Allen Saga na Flash.. Usually naka-sale ang mga $2.99 na comics na more than half of its original price.. Php50 na lang ang benta nila.. Tapos yung $3.50 pataas nasa Php75.. Pwede na, di ba? :thumbsupsmiley:

 

@reachard: Much like what khumpleetist said, mayroon pang iilang copies ng Sinestro Corps sa Filbars Riverbanks.. But its not complete.. I know, coz I often ask kung ano yung mga na-sold out dun eh.. As I have said, last time I checked, mabibigyan ka pa daw ng complete set ng Messiah Complex.. But yung iba second printing na nga daw.. Pumunta ka na kasi sa Riverbanks, bro, para ma-check mo na.. Malabo daw ito i-sale kahit lampas six months na kasi ang Filbar's hindi naman lahat ng issues na non-moving after 6 months, i-sa-sale din agad..

I had plans of visiting DK but I guess they're not open on Mondays besides I was in Edsa around 7PM na kahapon so I dared not to go. Luckily Filbar's MOA has a copy! Yay! :thumbsupsmiley: The issue was above average because I had to read it twice to understand the twist of the story (I'm not expecting this twist but I'm not surprised). This issue was great and I'm expecting Mystique to die or mindwiped by the end of this arc.

 

I plan to visit the place again now that you've mentioned they replenish by the end of the month. I gave up following Wizard kse halos lahat ng mga article eh covered din sa internet, yung price guide lang talaga ang catch, I also tried getting Comic Buyer's Guide but I had a horrible experience. Kung alam ko lang nung Nov 2006 na pdeng kumuha sa CO eh hindi ako nagsubscribe directly. I hope the old comic consignments eh ma-replenish them.

Konti lang din ang sa akin: Hulk, Justice League of America, Mighty Avengers at Zorro. I've given up Countdwon since issue # 24 or # 23 ata. Wala na kasi akong makita nung mga issue na yun tapos nahuhuli pa ako pero baka kumuha ako ng mga latest issue kasi maganda ang mga reviews. I'm getting Hulk just for the first arc. Ganun din sa Zorro or baka issue # 1 lang siguro. May deal kasi kami ng mga kaofficemates ko. Kapag natalo ako eh limited to marvel at DC na lang ako. Which is good para tipid but nakakapanghinayang. At mukhang matatalo ako.

 

I'm glad that Crime Bible will wrap up next week para bawas sa mga bilihin. Hahaha! So far Divided We Stand lang ang sinusundan ko pati Hulk sa Marvel. Then Countdown To Mystery sa DC. I'm preparing to let go of the other publications once I finish their arcs (Mouse Guard, Mice Templar, The Awakening, Killing Pickman, Transformers: Devastation, Star Wars: Vector, & Superpowers) pati Darktower pero tentative pa ako dito sa Darktower.

May 2nd printing na ang New Exiles #1.. Wow! Kundi lang alternate reality ito, I would've included this title on my monthly pull list.. I only got the first issue for investment purposes.. haha..

 

This week will be another crazy week for my collection.. Kick Ass #1 is coming and I am thinking of getting the McNiven variant cover, yun nga lang medyo magastos at P500.. Another title I am kinda interested is Jeff Smith's RASL.. I would most probably get this issue and continue it.. Malapit na namang matapos ang ilang mini-series ko like Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash, Rod Espinosa's Prince of Heroes and DC's Countdown (its at issue #9 na! yipee!!!)..

 

In total I have 8 titles that I would be getting this week.. All Star Batman & Robin, Countdown, Captain America, Superpowers, XMen: Legacy, Freddy V Jason V Ash plus the two titles I've mentioned above..

 

I've decided that I won't be getting the new series from Warren Ellis, Gravel.. And instead just get Smith's RASL.. I have not read Bone, but I have read great reviews on it (a friend of mine adores Bone).. I feel that Jeff Smith is a gold-mine kasi eh.. A gold mine of great stories and future investments in the comicbook genre..

Bro, I bought my set of the Secret Wars I at Php2,500.. But that was 12 years ago.. And sa ngayon, nasa around $80 at the minimum ang mint set nun.. So, if its mint, give it a ago.. I think its an okay buy.. Atsaka mahirap ng maghanap nito.. I saw a set in Comic Odyssey before, and they were selling it at 5K yata..

 

As per Wizard, here are the values of each Captain America you wrote.. #22 = $4, #23 = $4, #24 = $5.. #25 = McGuiness is valued at $10, 2nd print is at $3 and the Civil War: Confession is at $3.. So, in total this would be at around $30.. So, okay na din ito sa P1,500.. But if he is also giving you the #25 regular version, $15 yun eh.. So, sobrang good buy yun..

 

Yung Young Avengers ang hindi sinama sa issue ko ng Wizard.. So, I have no idea.. But, IMO, medyo ihuli mo yun.. Coz its not really that hard to find, compared to the other two sets.. I even have the first issue that I bought for 20 bucks..

 

Between the Secret Wars and the Captain America sets, I'd say that the former does not have a lot leeway to go up in the price guide.. It has been years since I've seen this set go up in value and the appearance of Venom in the movie series did not help the set move up in value.. The Death of Captain America, on the other hand, has lots of space to go up in the price guide.. If Steve Rogers will not be resurrected, that 25th issue will be important and will be a key issue in any collector's file cabinet.. But if he does get resurrected, this issue won't really be that "key.." May risk na bumaba ang set ng Captain America, but meron pa ring chance to go up.. So, bro, its really up to you kung ano uunahin mo sa dalawa.. If its me, I'd get the Secret Wars because issue #8 is pretty much a key issue --- kahit ano pa ang mangyari, due to the film, the popularity of both Venom and Carnage.. Mas maganda kung pareho mo kunin.. :thumbsupsmiley:

@khumpleetist: I based my assumption on the Captain America set on the KnightFall tale of Batman.. If you could remember, Batman #497 (the issue where Bane broke Bats' back), was rather hot and expensive when it first arrived.. But because KnightQuest, KnightsEnd was not appreciated much, that issue was forgotten in the long run.. Still, it can be argued that the Death of Superman Set is still hot after over 10 years.. But it can also be argued that Captain America does not that have a big fan-base, as compared to Superman or even Spiderman.. It actually also depends how fans react to the Cap series and how the writers do their work.. But, I guess, it would be worth the risk, right bro?

 

Kunin mo na pareho.. Kpag hindi mo kinuha yung Captain America, timbrehan mo ako.. Para makuha ko siya.. hahaha... Coz that set is certainly worth the risk.. And if it does go down in value, maganda pa din na meron ka as part of your collection.. Whatever happens the Death of Cap is part of comicbook history na.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Thanks for the input bro. I'm actually eyeing Secret Wars since it has the Alien Symbiote's first appearance plus the fact the series had Spider-Woman's (Julia Carpenter) first apperance as well. I just wanted to see the condition of the comic. The Captain America set is my back-up pag di ako satisfied sa Secret Wars. Young Avengers was cheap naman in a sense kasi 12 issues ito pero SOBRANG cheap nung nakuha mo. :thumbsupsmiley: I'll update you kung magpapass ako sa Captain America. I'll check the comics by Sunday

Thanks for the input bro. I'm actually eyeing Secret Wars since it has the Alien Symbiote's first appearance plus the fact the series had Spider-Woman's (Julia Carpenter) first apperance as well. I just wanted to see the condition of the comic. The Captain America set is my back-up pag di ako satisfied sa Secret Wars. Young Avengers was cheap naman in a sense kasi 12 issues ito pero SOBRANG cheap nung nakuha mo. :thumbsupsmiley: I'll update you kung magpapass ako sa Captain America. Speaking of Bats.. I've decided to get this month's Batman and I also had the copies of the last two months reserved.. Why? It seems that the Grant Morrison run in Bats has been pretty underrated.. Reviews have stated that Morrison is slowly building up to the Batman RIP storyline, and its stated that all his stories in Bats are tied-up to this major event.. I currently have all the Morrison written storylines in Batman but I decided not to get this year's issues (Dec, Jan and Feb), but now after reading the reviews, I'd rather not take any chances.. Baka magkaubusan pa.. Kaya reserved na lahat yung tatlong titles na yan.. haha.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Putik! Mukhang isang katutak na naman ang lalabas na comics na nasa pull-list ko next week ah.. I checked the sites, and I saw 3 Divided We Stand tie-ins.. Uncanny #496, XForce #2 (wtf? ang bilis nito lumabas ah!), and Cable #1.. Looks like Marvel is trying to capitalize on the Messiah Complex arc.. Get new readers while its hot, I guess!! hehe.. I think I have 9 titles that are in my pull list that would ship next week.. Arraayyyy Kooo Poooo!!!

 

I browsed some of the comics that I got this week.. Of all the comics I scanned, I liked Kick Ass #1.. It was different and has a fresh outlook.. This is Millar in his finest.. :thumbsupsmiley: This title will definitely be in my monthly pull-list.. :thumbsupsmiley:

Nakakita ka ng issue na ito sa Recto? Wow! The first appearance of Wolverine is Hulk #181 and is worth $1,400 in Mint Condition.. Whoever bought that even if the issue is not mint is pretty lucky..

I dunno, but I might not continue the Cable series.. Even though I know that its included in the Divided We Stand arc.. I feel that it ain't really that important.. Coz the storyline might just be about another time-travel adventure for Cable.. Na wala ng appeal for me coz gasgas na siya.. Kaya tentative pa kung kukunin ko ang Cable #1.. hehe...

 

I will continue all of the other titles above, and I am pretty much excited on the 2nd series of the Dark Tower series.. The End League does not have a lot of fan-base (compared to Spooks of Devil's Due) but I liked the first issue.. Terry Moore's Echo is another comic that is in the same mold in Jeff Smith's RASL.. Both are self-published books and most probably be delayed.. I will most probably continue both series as I heard rave reviews on Jeff Smith's Bone and Moore's Strangers In Paradise..

@khumpleetist: You better check out Devil's Due's "Spooks.." Issue #1 was sold out (daw) in the States.. Baka may makita ka pa dito, you might want to get a copy.. Baka kasi tumaas ito.. Don't quote me on that.. Wala naman masama na sugalan siya eh.. haha.. Its actually a cross between Hellboy's/BPRD's storyline and that of the horror-themed monsters like Dracula, Werewolf, etc.. Its a nice read, IMO..

8 comics ata kukunin ko next Thursday kasama na dito ang isang issue na nakareserve na ng matagal. Ang bilis ngang lumabas nyang X-Force na yan ah!

 

Di ko binuksan yung Kick-Ass # 1 pati Rasl # 1, antayin ko na lang sigurong makatapos ng arc bago ko basahin. Pero 50/50 ang review sa Kick-Ass ah. Pero parang lamang yung may mga gusto ito. Buti hindi ka kumuha ng Criminal Vol 2 # 1. Daming magandang review dito.

Gusto kong ikumpara yung Cable sa Booster Gold saka madalang ang mga nabasa kong mga comics na kasama si Cable kaya try ko muna 'to. W/regards to Green Lantern eh ang hirap pakawalan kasi ang ganda ng istorya tas malaki talaga ang role ng Green Lantern Corps sa Final Crisis at mukhang si Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) ang cover sa # 1.

 

Siguro Cable lang ang susundan ko sa mga titles above. Lahat eh hindi ko na susundan pag tapos ng arc/series at ng Divided We Stand pero pinag-iisipan ko pa yung Green Lantern. Normal lang feeling ko sa Dark Tower kasi sinundan ko lang yung series for comic value unlike The End League na nag-enjoy ako! Di ako kumuha ng Spooks, dami ko na kasing titles pero kung may budget ako eh susundan ko. Dunno w/Echo, parang alang dating sa akin.

Nga pala, I just closed the deal and got the Secret Wars set! I haven't browsed all the issues although some has very minor defects but issue # 7 and # 8 were perfect! :cool: And I feel na pag nakita mo din eh pasado sa taste mo. I'll post pics in the future kapag di na ako tinatamad na magpunta sa computer shop paa magpa-upload ng pictures sa digicam. I already told the guy na interesado kayo ni reachard dun sa Death Of Cap arc pero try ko muna kung makukuha ko this month. Pag di ko makukuha eh magbato bato pik na lang kayo ni bro reachard. Hahaha! :evil: Ganda pa naman ng condition.

 

At kahit masakit sa loob ko pero dahil mas masakit sa bulsa ko eh hindi na ako kukuha ng mga bagong titles ngayong March except Dark Tower. Di na talaga kaya ng budget ko. Dami ko pa namang gustong kunin pero recommend ko sa 'yo 'tong mga 'to bro:

Nga pala, nag-inquire ako sa DK ng Captain America # 34 (Dynamic Forces version) CGC 9.6. Pag kaya sa budget eh kukuha ako. Sayang nga, walang 9.8.
