Finally, a BIG game from Richard Jefferson!

 

RJ topscored for the NETS with 35 points on 13 of 19 shooting including 10 in the final quarter. VC scored 31 points and was instrumental in putting the game away by scoring New Jersey's final six points.

 

Jason Kidd had only 4 points but he grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 11 assists.

 

:evil: Jason Collins played too many minutes again! (26 mins) He only had 3 rebounds and 5 fouls to contribute. Defense? Well, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila combined for 30 points on 11 of 19 shooting! :grr:

 

The NETS will play LeBron James and the CAVS next on Thursday!

Yup, it was a much-needed win. I wasn't able to watch the game though due to work.

 

The New York area sportswriters have been criticizing Lawrence Frank of late due to his moves and substitutions. Aside from his plays being too VINCE-centric, Jason Collins has also been mentioned as one of the reasons behind the criticisms against Frank.

 

I bet you that the game would not have been this close had Collins remained on the bench. Gago talaga si Frank! I don't claim to be an authority on game strategy but this is a no-brainer. I don't see Collins as a defensive genius. Frank claims that the guys helps them a lot on the defensive end and that's why he has remained on the starting rotation. But by giving Collins significant playing time, he gets his team into a deep hole, that consequently makes it harder for his star players (JKidd, Vince, RJ) and his good bench players to win the game! Frank just doesn't get it. :thumbsdownsmiley:

Bostjan Nachbar provided support by scoring 19 points off-the-bench while J-Kidd had another day in the office contributing 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.

 

Steve Francis topscored with 26 points for the depleted Knicks.

I'm betting the Nets can provide the only "upset" in the playoffs. And I'm hoping NJ goes all the way to the East finals

 

 

 

true true!! the raptors is seeded higher(3rd seed) bec their division is the weakest in the nba.

i truly blieve the nets will win this one,it would b interesting to see the homecoming of v.carter in the raptors arena!!!

i think the Nets has a good chance of reaching the eastern conference finals. just like w/ the raptors, they can also match well w/ either the cavaliers or the wizards in the semis. but comes eastern conference finals, they are bound to have a hard time to defend against the big men of both the heat & the pistons. need to have a solid team defense to compensate for their big men's lack of defensive skills.

Rejoice NETS fans! Another reason to brag!

 

The NETS stole the homecourt advantage by winning Game 1 of their first round series against the RAPTORS, 96-91! :thumbsupsmiley:

 

RJ led the way with 28 points while VC, booed all game long finished with "just" 16 points but scored 9 of them in the 4th Quarter. Boki (Nachbar) provided the support from the bench by scoring 16 points and probably the biggest shot of the night - a 3ptr from the corner when the Raptors are making a huge rally and with the NETS leading by just a single point!

 

Jason Kidd? HeHe. The NETS' Heart and Soul finished with eye-popping 8 points 10 rebounds and 15 assists (8 to start the game and set the tempo!) :evil: What will we do without you, idol?

 

Anyways, the Raptors were led by Chris Bosh's 22 points and TJ Ford's 21.

 

Way to go NETS, way to go!!! :cool:
