  1. Share ko lang. Romy Mamaril is now driving a shuttle service (most probably his own, meron kasing PBA sticker sa likod). Masinag, Antipolo to Ayala/Crossing.

Pare my dad used to work for San Miguel and he knows Jong Uichico personally. jong didnt get any benefits from San Miguel because he was not considered an employee, it was only til they gave him an office job that he was considered an employee and got benefits. So I don't think that Jerry is an employee of Teletech, he is only a coach of their team unless they made him an engineer or a call center agent.

Dude, I'm not trying to argue with you. I'm upset as you are that Teletech would resort to such measures to gain an advantage over the other teams in the call center league. Pero ganun talaga, policy nila yun and it was enough for the organizers of that league to make him eligible to play. Just some more info, the players of the PBL Teletech team do administrative chores in the Teletech offices when they're not playing.

  2. Thats why i was really starled why he played for a league like that, his team had enough talent. Ok lang sana kung they will play in a higher level league than the one they're playing (I don't mean anything bad about this) pero if its some kind of corporate league lang sana pinabayaan na nya mga bata nya. Thats being unfair, is he a teletech employee in the first place? :thumbsdownsmiley:

Well, technically he is an employee of Teletech since he coaches their semi-pro team kaya siya eligible to play in a call center league.

jerry codinera did play in the inter call center league

that mother fuc*er! killed our team in the championship

Ha ha! Taga-eTel ka ba tsong? Bad trip no? He he. :D

  3. Really, Jerry Codiñera played for teletech? As if hindi pa enough lineup nila against other call centers.

And not just any ex-pro, but a perennial Mythical Five selectee and All-Star player. Mga sigurista.

Nani Demegillo is a security guard sa Visayas yata. May some sort of disease sya...

I saw him a couple of years back also as a barong-clad sikyo at Sta Lucia Mall. :(

  4. I recently read in Beth Celis' Inquirer column that Yoyoy Villamin is cab driver in the US. I forgot which state exactly.

Benjie Paras is a TV comedian.

Jerry Codiñera is the head coach of TeleTech in the PBL. This call center even fielded him as a player in an Inter-Call Center League.

Wala na akong balita sa iba.

@clubber_lang: I didn't know Abe King already died. What was the circumstances behind his death?

  5. I'm also not into bands that name themselves after a cypress hill song and then goes about and cops off iron maiden riffs for their original songs.

They're such a bunch of posers. I saw them on UNTV (the now defunct TV station of NU 107) and they were interviewed and they bragged that they were metal. :thumbsdownsmiley:

Here is my top 10 list of favorite heavy recordings:

    1. Slayer - Reign In Blood

    2. Megadeth - Rust In Peace

    3. Metallica - k*ll Em All

    4. Death Angel - The Ultraviolence

    5. Overkill - Years of Decay

    6. Death - Human

    7. Diamond Head - Lightning to the Nations

    8. Venom - Black Metal

    9. Piece of Mind - Iron Maiden

    10.Jose Mari-Chan - Constant Change (NOT)

I like your list. I would agree with 7 out of the 10 albums in your list. But not in my top 10, probably in my top 30 metal albums of all time.

  6. Im in to Pantera, does System of a Down counted?

Pantera is ok. System of A Down, hmm, I consider them 'entry-level' metal: they're a band that draw young fans into metal and potentially lead them to listen to heavier, faster, more aggressive underground metal bands. SOAD is just scratching the surface when listening to metal is concerned as there are loads of metal bands out there who continously push the genre to the extreme. A lot of these bands have been mentioned in this thread already, just backread dude! \m/

  7. The most eeew food for me for a different reason is some pigeon dish that I saw in Causeway. I said for a different reason coz I didn't really taste it but it was more on how it was presented. Sa menu, the dish was presented where it still resembled a pigeon with the head, wings and feet - all skeletal remains by now, with the ground pigeon meat in the middle. It was so grotesque!

  8. whatever call center you pick, they'll all have their good and bad sides. the initial rule to remember is never to believe everything the recruiter tells you. if it ain't in the contract then you're bound to be shafted by their promises.

that's how i got stung by converygys. they promised me very fixed time shifts and guess what? i never even came close to those shifts so i resigned - i came to regret that decision later. i only came to appreciate the benefits and work environment after i left the company.

now if you're thinking of starting and you're not confident of your english, west is a good place to start with. their english requirement is not as stringent as others, sad but true, so you can get your feet wet here. they also offer fixed scheds which you can pick from a list they give you and that'll be you sched for the long haul. pay and benefits do suck so don't expect much. of course what can you expect from a company who's english threshold is low enough that my daughter can pass it without breaking her stride - she's just 6 btw. just be ready for highly incompetent sups and anal retentive metrics. they really rag you posterior regarding call time.

for newbies, you can either go the big time to get the major benefits or the small time so you can appreciate the move up the call center ladder. my only advice, never work for clientlogic. they are the bottomfeeders in terms of benefits and mobility. everyone i know from their curse their time in hell.

Nice, honest post dude. I admire your audacity in discussing the cons of working for some very specific call centers. I think we should have more posts like this. We should discuss what to expect from certain call centers both the pro's and con's so that both newbies and veterans to the call center game could be better advised before signing a contract. I agree that all call centers have their good and bad sides. I guess there isn't a perfect call center company otherwise there would be no attrition and other issues in that company.

I know it sounds silly but it was a friend who pointed it out.

  10. i've read a lot of this guy's posts and i'd like to ask, is this guy really from ateneo?

Malay mo, librarian o kaya sanitation officer.

Para 'di OT, most hated ko karamihan ng La Salle archers: Cardona, Yeo, Telan, Araña, Sharma. Why does DLSU have a tradition of irritating players?

  11. Question to our HRD specialists here: is it mandated in our labor laws that if you voluntary resign from a company, that the company is obliged to give you a separation package which is computed based on how long you have been with the company? Or is this for just retrenched employees? Or just a prerogative of the company?

I was just wondering because before I joined the work force, parang ganito yung nangyari sa friend ko na nag-resign - his company gave him a considerable separation pay package since he was with them for 10 years na ata. However, when I joined the work force (call center) and seen a lot of people come and go, parang ang ipini-pay out lang sa last pay was the withheld last salary, pro-rated 13th month pay, unused leaves and any pending performance bonuses.

  12. Trivium could've been an excellent band if not for the horrible, horrible metalcore vocals. From the several songs I downloaded, their guitar department show some excellent chops with their melodic riffing. But those terrible metalcore vox really bog the material down. Sorry, not for me. :thumbsdownsmiley:

  13. I like Umbro shoes. I'm surprised how very inexpensive they are here.

Question to all of you peeps: when buying shoes, do you buy shoes that fit your feet exactly or do you buy shoes that are a half size to a one size bigger so that your feet (especially your toes) can have some space to move inside? Akala ko kasi sine-sales talk lang ako ng isang sales lady when I bought a pair of shoes a couple of years back. Wala na kasi ng size ko but I really liked the style of the shoes. I bought the shoe and she was right. My feet were comfortable in the shoes even though it was a bigger size. Ngayon tuloy parang sanay na ako bumili ng mas malaking size ng sapatos than my usual size for my feet. What do you think?

  14. RIP Jon Nodtveidt, mastermind of Swedish black metal band DISSECTION

As rumours have started to spread we feel obliged to confirm Jon Nödtveidt's death.

Jon Nödtveidt was a man who lived his life according to his convictions and True Will. A couple of days ago he chose to end his life by his own hands. As a true Satanist he led his life in the way he wanted and ended it when he felt that he had fulfilled his self-created destiny. Not everyone will have understanding or acceptance for his personal path in this life and beyond, but all must respect his choice.

Those of us who have met him in his last days can assure that he was more focussed, happier and stronger than ever. It is our full conviction that he left this world of lies with a scornful laughter, knowing that he had fulfilled everything that he had set up for himself to accomplish. The empty space that he leaves behind will be filled with the dark essence that he manifested through his life and black-magical work. His legacy and Luciferian Fire will live on through those few who truly knew him and appreciated his work for what it really was and still is. As our brother's goal in life and death never was to "Rest in Peace", we will instead wish him victories in all battles to come, until the Acosmic Destiny has been fulfilled.

For the glory of the Dark Gods and the Wrathful Chaos!

  15. Their 7777 number deifnitely sucks! I was in a meeting and our manager ordered Shakeys pizza, chicken and mojos for us. Sabi sa kanya 1 hour daw before dumating yung delivery. This was not acceptable to our manager since she was able to have Shakeys deliver to our office (in Libis) in 30 minutes. Sabi nung phone rep, matagal daw talaga kasi sa Cubao pa manggagaling yung delivery. Our manager asked her bakit sa Cubao pa manggagaling e may Katipunan branch naman and Libis was still within the coverage area of that branch. Sabi ba naman nung phone rep, wala daw silang branch dun. This dumbfounded our manager as how can someone from Shakeys (not unless outsourced yun) not know the locations of their own branches? Nakipagtalo yung boss ko until she asked for a supervisor who also maintained that the delivery woud come from Cubao since there was no Katipunan branch. My boss just ended up hanging up the phone and calling the Katipunan branch directly and she was able to have our order delivered in 30 minutes. Hassle!

  16. Si Vito Lazatin. Wala lang nakaka-asar lang yung pagmumukha niya.

Si Chino Trinidad, sablay talaga yan dati pa. May classic boo boo siya nung bago siya sa PBL way way before. BACK TO YOU, BITCH AND BULL!" :P

I consider it their best album since Divine Intervention. Sana lumabas dito.
