  1. As of now aside from Lakay guys, probably Ruben Sumido and Rency Calvelo have the best shots at international exposure IMHO

I agree. Rency has always been one of the most naturally-gifted fighters in my opinion and he's got that martial spirit if you know what I mean.

By the way talking about local stuff musta pala sir Olympus yung PSSL last Saturday? Apart from lil king's match I have no other results. How'd the other fights go?

  2. ^ geneticfreak is right, the first pure Pinoy UFC fighter could be Edward Folayang...

(btw, geneticfreak do you post also in PinoyMMA? I think i saw you post there...)

Yup Yup I do. But after they revamped the site late last year I've been using a different handle there. I also post on the bjjphilippines forums.

  3. any vids of this mark munoz?

is he taking on Faber anytime soon? :D

    much props to this man

Well as for a match with Faber malayo pa ito sir. He's only had one match palang in the WEC I believe but he did win it in a very impressive fashion.

    Additional Facts about Mark Munoz:

Muñoz is slated to fight Steve Steinbeiss in WEC 36 on November 5, 2008.

Muñoz goes by the moniker "The Philippine Wrecking Machine"

  4. Any pure bred Filipino that is worthy of the UFC?

Is Chuck running a clinic??? cost.. location???

Hmm.. Come to think of it. Eduard Folayang from Lakay Wushu with a lil bit more ground work I think is definitely UFC worthy. Actually that Lakay team has got a bunch of guys who I think who can fight internationally kaso if you consider the fact that the UFC's weight classes start at 155lbs I think only Folayang and perhaps Joel Amurao would be 'big' enough.

Another one I think would be Asian Indoor Games Muay Thai Champion Ruben Sumido. A lil more groundwork and he'll get there.

  5. Flying High Now,

    The Burning Heart,

    Hearts on Fire,

    Eye of the Tiger,

    No Easy Way Out,

    War by Vince Dicola,

and my personal favorite the Training Montage from Rocky IV (also by Vince Dicola)

    Huge Rocky fan here.

These songs just have a way of pumping you up especially when you get that feeling that you're like Rocky preparing for a fight.

  6. WAR TANNER! whereever he may be he's still champ... too bad i like Ace as well, but hell Evan is Evan he learned the game via instructional books and he became champ... he's probably in the great big octagon in the sky now.

That's a testament to just how much a fighter Evan Tanner really was. A great big octagon in the sky with angels wearing skimpy outfits a thousand times hotter than edith and arriani are the ring girls and do dance numbers in between rounds. hehe. :hypocritesmiley:

  7. I won't live by rules that make no sense to me.

    - Evan Tanner

And yes that he did. RIP champ. A lot of people thought you'd still have another run at your title but instead we now hope you're in a better place than this.

  8. Yup 2008 was definitely Rafa's year. Another title in Roland Garros, finally getting to beat Roger in the grass courts of Wimbeldon and to top it all off winning gold at the Beijing Olympics. His semifinal finish in the US Open does not sour the fact that he is and has been at the helm of men's tennis this year.

  9. By the way... Evans vs. Forrest na! Screw Lyoto!? He should finish a fight first! KO or Sub somebody not win by points! TUF 1 vs TUF 2! That would be a big draw for the UFC! Not Forrest vs. Lyoto?! Come on...

Yah I think Machida got screwed on this one. tsk tsk. :thumbsdownsmiley:
