Welll... in the end, it really depends on your current and future needs. Kaya ba iyon tugunan ng iyong existing desktop and an additional desktop? Kung kelangan nyo lang naman ng tig-iisang PC at sa bahay lang gagamitin then an additional desktop will see to that need. Pero yung nga, may mga pagkakataon kasi na laking convenience ang laptop dahil mas madaling bitbitin.

 

If you can afford it, at di naman masakit sa bulsa mo, then get one so you can avail of the advantages of having both... parang cell phone yan... sa simula parang useless dahil wala ka namang ka-text at ang mga numbers na alam mo ay landline... pero later on kapag nakasanayan mo na, you can't leave home without it. Lalo na't kung may dala kang sasakyan dahil may paglalagyan ka.

 

Sorry di ko alam yang laptop na advertised ng PLDT... kasama ba sya sa promo brochure for VIBE? Di ko kasi gaano tinignan yung brochure eh.

 

Post mo na lang dito yung info about the laptop, specifications nya, the price, at kung ano pang kasamang paraphernalia sa promo. Para mas madaling mag-comment about that laptop offer.

Frank I think mahal ang laptop sa pldt & hindi ko kabisado ang brand (warranty, driver upgrade (sa future), performance issues) & nakabunddle ata sa internet nila?

 

Unless your getting the dsl I suggest maghanap ka ng ibang brand teka di mo binangit ang budget mo I can probably suggest which to buy kasi exposed ako sa pricing & warranties nyan.

 

Kung particular ka sa:

 

Upgradeability = magdesknote ka (ECS, one of the top oem manufacturer of mainboards in the world ) o yung ASUS na parehong classification (no batteries, external batteries available) Yung ECS from P30T(850MHz Gigapro,P34T celeron, P46T+ P4 up). A desknote is a desktop na mukhang laptop without batteries pero kumpleto sa mga ports na kailangan ng studyante like modem LAN USB infrared etc. May nabibili din na external batteries.

 

Portability = mag laptop ka (madaming choices kung di limited budget mo) kung limitado may I suggest yung laptop ng ECS kasi sa P4 256DDR with combo drive nasa P60T plus lang ata green notebook ba pangalan nun.

I decided to erase my installation of Win Server 2k3 completely and reinstall WinXP. It works like a charm now and I just use the router as a switch since I use the server as a router as well. Thanks for the help y'all!

 

By the way, I use NTFS exclusively for all my computers. No more hassles with lost clusters and stuff, at least not as much as before.

most new motherboards today have options to overclock your proccessor, like the P4, using MSI boards they have a software called Fuzzt logic to test on how far it can be overclocked, but to do good overclock, you need a good casing, well ventilated and big heatsink/fan.

 

for AMDs i dont know if need to solder/paste the cpu with something to enable the overclock but same settings, good computer casing, and a very nice cpu fine, like those volcano brand, take note the higher the overclock the nosier the fan will produce.

 

ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte motherboard are good MB to do overclock.

 

Also Video cards can be overclock, usually there is a bundled software for your video card to overclock it, of coarse nvidia is the best chip to be overclock.

Also about notebooks, nowadays they can also be compared to desktop pcs, especially the desktop notebooks having a desktop P4 cpu, basta kung kukuha ka ng ganitong klase ng notebook make sure yung video card memory ay dedicated not shared, marami naring nagrelease na ati 9000 and geforce 4 ti mobile models, itong mga notebook na pwede nang panglaro. pero one drawback medyo mabigat. kesa sa mga petium 4-mobile at centrino models na saksakan ng gaang at nipis.

Ako matagal ko nang gusto mag - overclock. Pero marami ako nababasa sa mga website na overclocking may shorten the life of the computer, especially yung heat issues. It is only recommended to overclock if you're near upgrading your unit according to them. Guys what's the truth behind overclocking
