Here's the thing on paper Forrest obviously doesn't have the KO power of Jackson so if he wins he probabbly will win via decision. He might do a Lyota on Rampage like someone here suggested.

But then again... Forrest comes from what I feel is the best (strategy wise) camp in MMA today and that's Xtreme Couture. The fighters from the said camp only lost once in nearly 40 fights last year and that has a lot to say about how they train and how they prepare, and how they prepare for an opponent's particular style at that. Just look at how Randy dominated Timmy when he shouldn't have, How Wand quickly KO'd Jardine and how Forrest used his size and strength to neutralize Shogun Rua who was once feared as the best light heavyweight around.

So what I'm saying is I know Forrest is gonna have a gameplan. And knowing the way Randy's fighting mind works it'll be a great one.

Good point.

I was gonna say that the x factor here as well is Forrest probably has the biggest (if not one of the)fighting spirit in MMA today. and more ofen than not, this has helped him pull off victories.

Adding this to the cerebral gameplan Randy will have for him, this is going to be a classic and I'm gonna be happy for whoever wins.

yup a fighting spirirt that he has learned to control. His aggressive nature got him in trouble against Jardine but upon his next fight with Hector Sick Dog Ramirez he was a lot more in control, and of course we all saw what happened to Shogun.

I really like Forrest to win but I believe Rampage will be victorious come sunday, Forrest cant beat Rampage by ko power or even by outlasting him by 5 rounds.

But this is mma, anything could happen like Gonzaga-Crocop or GSP-Serra 1. I wish forrest wins by "shocking-out-of-know-where-submission" that most of us did not expect.

or like most of the fans think, Forrest will just get KTFO.

I'll go with Forrest by decision.

Affliction ‘Banned’: Edwin Dewees vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

Former UFC competitor Edwin Dewees (35-12) has been slated to replace deposed light heavyweight Vernon “Tiger” White at the Affliction: Banned pay-per-view on July 19th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

White, who was originally scheduled to face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in a televised match airing on FSN, was yanked from the card after testing positive for a banned diuretic following his match against Jeremiah Constant at Xtreme Cage Combat 6 on May 31.

While “Tiger” vehemently denies any wrongdoing, a July 9 hearing with the NSAC didn’t leave Affliction officials with enough time to replace him should he be found guilty.

Prior to the Dewees signing, Affliction replaced the scrapped Nogueira-White bout on FSN with the light heavyweight match between Vitor Belfort and Terry Martin.

Dewees is coming off a submission win over Richard Blake at No limit Fighting last April. That victory snapped a four fight losing streak including a loss to Jorge Rivera at the UFC Ultimate Finale 4 in 2006.

Despite going 0-3 in the UFC, “Babyface” has the tools and the experience to make this a competitive fight. And fans may be getting the better of the deal. At 26-32-2, White wasn’t exactly tearing up the circuit.

Still, Dewees will have his hands full against Nogueira. “Minotoro” (13-3) is the twin brother of UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and recently stopped Todd Gouwenberg via TKO at HCF: Destiny back in February.

Affliction — one of the most recognized and popular clothing brands out right now — made its bid to become the latest mixed martial arts promoter official a few months back during an episode of “Inside MMA” on the HDNet network.

It’s been known for some time now that Affliction would throw its hat into the MMA ring. In fact, the UFC and Elite XC recently banned their fighters from wearing Affliction gear during events because of the looming competition.

And if the inaugural pay-per-view (PPV) fight card slated for the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. on July 19 is any indication of things to come, then Affliction will indeed pose some stiff competition.

So stiff in fact, that UFC President Dana white has whipped up his own little card for the 19th as well. UFC Fight Night 14 will air live from the The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada on SpikeTV.

Should be one hell of a night for MMA fans.

haha don't underestimate the Original Ultimate Fighter, he is a totally different fighter than who he was when he first stepped in the octagon. i never imagined him winning against Shogun on his last fight, and guess what he choked Shogun out. so yeah a out-of-nowhere sub is not bleak.

and as geneticfreak posted Forrest has a great camp, did a bit of research on it as well & yeah, Extreme Couture has had won most of their fighter's fights last year by a big margin. just take Tyson Griffin's wins last year, Wand's rape choke GnP win and Forest tapping not napping Shogun. although i won't count Rampage out by saying that Forrest would dominate the fight. Rampage has heavier hands and if Forrest tries to stand with him and trade blows he'd get KTFO like Chuck. the best way to win i guess is to do a Lyoto or use do a Timmy jabfest UD ^_^ but that is wishful thinking, all i can think of right now is Forrest winning it via SD, a really close SD.

Can you believe this stacked fight card for AFFLICTION BANNED

There is no way in hell that UFC can match this PPV

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia

Josh Barnett vs. Pedro Rizzo

Andre Arlovski vs. Ben Rothwell

Matt Lindland vs. Fabio Negao

Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead

Aleksander Emelianenko vs. Paul Buentello

Vitor Belfort vs. Terry Martin

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Edwin Dewees

Just a question to some of the MMA genius here at MTC..

I know that Arlovski and Sylvia left UFC..

What happened between UFC and Barnett, Rizzo, Belfort and others? Did their ego got too big for UFC to contain?

It will be Forrest via Divine Intervention, hehehheeh! But I think Rampage will retain the title... Whoever wins, I just hope that Lyoto will be his next opponent (pero parang yung mananalo pa yata sa Liddell-Evans ang next in line for the title shot).

Didn't know that Vitor is in that card... Televised ba dito yan? Belfort is one of my favorite fighter, inconsistent nga lang sya sa UFC then. But he was doing great in boxing, I just dont know kung bakit di nya itinuloy...

I dont know about Rizzo, but Barnett and Belfort were banned because of steroids use... tama ba?

the only good fight there is Sylvia X Fedor and probably Aleks X Buentello, all the rest will end quickly and predictably

it's just a lot of (old) big names that are matched with fighters people don't know or don't particularly care about. Good fights come from good matchups, and there isn't a good matchup in that card.

I really doubt that Affliction won't lose a fortune over this, but the way things are going they're going to lose a ton of money, especially now that Dana has his own UFC card on that date for FREE (f*cking slick move if you ask me, assholish but really slick in business terms)

My prediction is Affliction will go the way a lot of other up and coming promotions that challenged the UFC went.

Well let me just add that I think the Mike Whitehead/Babalu matchup might be a good one. Also, Ben Rothwell's fight against former UFC heavyweight champ Andre "the (original) Pitbull" Arlovski. Im curious with how Ben Rothwell will be able to deal with a big name fighter like Andre. Now we know he did beat former champ Rico Rodriguez but the Rico we saw in the fight was merely a shell of the fighter he once was. This time he'll be facing a fighter who's still on the top or at least near the top of his game.

Yeah! Just want to see if Fedor subs Tim and Aleks KO's Buentello! Arlovski vs Rothwell is a nice fight also! After this event there will be a lot of good fights especially in the heavyweight division outside the UFC! Imagine Barnett vs. Fedor, throw in Arlovski in the mix! Im just curious san ba gagawin yung fights?! Is it in the ring or in the cage!? War Rampage!!! hehe :thumbsupsmiley:
