roadkill69ph
Not really about traffic but an advisory to motorists nonetheless. If you are travelling along Araneta Avenue - Quezon Avenue and Araneta Avenue - E. Rodriguez Avenue, be on the lookout for a bunch of kids that roam around stopped vehicles (mostly trucks) looking for things of value. Then when the light is about to turn green they head back to the "marked" vehicles, take whatever they can get their hands on and make a break for it. Note, a lot of MMDA personnel in these areas but ignore such things. Quote Link to comment
bong.a
lapit na christmas season. avoid malls and restaurant areas - specially during the christmas party nights. don't you sometimes wish there were billboards or lcd signs on entrances to main thoroughfares just announcing traffic conditions before you proceed. in this way, you could either take alternative routes or just wait awhile and let traffic subside. hirap kasi sa traffic updates sa radio while you're on the road is sometimes it is too late for you to realize na may heavy traffic pala na hindi moving and you end up being caught in it without any alternative routes. ChiliMac
Guys from the Q.C. area, a close relative is getting married in Mt. Carmel Church near Broadway and St. Paul's . They made a mistake on the church akala nila ayun yung Mt. Carmel na malapit sa Grand Terraces Restaurant along Commonwealth, dapat yung Mt. Carmel na sa Proj. 6 dapat. Anyways, my question to you guys is what is the best route to take from Mt. Carmel Church going to Commonwealth on a Saturday morning. Ok ba yung Ortigas then C5 or Ortigas/EDSA/East Ave? Pasuyo na lang mga GM's dyan, thanks in advance. Cheers! Quote Link to comment

sandy51
MMDA seems to try at improving traffic flow. It seems apparent however that a lot of implementors have never even read a driver's manual because a lot of signs are not according to standard. Like yellow line for a bus lane? Hindi ba the manual says yellow line means there is an opposite traffic? So when does one stay left of the yellow line and when does one stay right of it? Then, it also seems apparent that they do not have a concept of bottleneck. Look at Katipunan in front of Ateneo. They could make the lanes before the U-Turn slots even a hundred lanes and it still would not matter because traffic gets constricted at the U-Turn lanes. But the big question I guess is, ultimately, who is really in charge of traffic management? MMDA? Police? LTO, DPWH, DOTC? Who? Where does the buck stop? Quote Link to comment
sandy51
Like what kind of traffic management is it where a driver need not know that he is supposed to stop at the limit line before the pedestrian lane - but he has to know what day of the week it is? What kind of traffic management is it where a driver need not know that, unless so stated, right turn can be done at anytime (with caution of course) that signs have to be placed? But the driver has to know what his ending plate number is. Basic traffic rules are obviously not know by even the people who are supposed to manage the traffic. Get air traffic controllers. I think they understand the basicsw a lot better. Quote Link to comment
