Recommended Posts

i got a condo. i got a house.

condo is good if;

1. swimming pool below

2. accessiblity in the city

3. private since ako lang sa condo. (tawag muna security bago magpa akyat) hehehe

4. well, girls do find it cool. and want to hang out.

house and lot

1. if its big enough

2. ok kung mag isa ka lang dun, bad kung crowded.

3. parking! mahal ng parking sa condo.

4. space. space. space. pero kung maliit sa condo na lang.

There are compelling arguments on the attractiveness of condo living, in general. It would be impossible to name them all especially since everyone has their own personal opinions. However, I believe that most people can agree on the following reasons of why condo/townhome living is truly desirable.

First off, there is very little to no maintenance that need to be taken care of such as mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, checking the PH level for your pool…etc. Maintenance consists of two things, time and hassle. If you live in a condo or a townhome, you won’t have to go through the trouble of asking your friends and neighbors who the most trustworthy plumber is at the best price. Typically there is an on-site handyman that you won’t have to micro manage when he/she is making the repairs in your unit.

Secondly, there are shared amenities. Depending on the complex you live in, you may not have to drive to the gym because you might possibly have one below you or within walking distance in the complex.

The third reason is a result of the second. These shared amenities create a more social environment. When living in an residential neighborhood, it’s natural to feel a sense of community. But when taking advantage of all the shared communities in a complex, you are bound to run into the same people. Living in the same condo building as someone else that you see quite often creates a stronger sense of living in a community as well as comfort.

Reason number four is security. Most complexes have a front door that requires a key just to get into the building. Then a separate key is needed to get into the unit. This makes it a little more difficult for an intruder if he/she were to try to sneak in and walk out with a 60 inch flat screen t.v., especially without being noticed by others. Finally, most complexes are located in more convenient locations- mostly schools and malls/entertainment complexes.

The glaring reality is that you have to have an extra money to enjoy condo living, since all the reasons for it being attractive is everyone's wishes- but you have to shell out considerable money to enjoy them...

Condo is always convenient, it is forever (perpetual ownership, forever in my lifetime), extra safe and less costly (relative to the location, amenities, etc.).

If you work in Makati or ortigas or the fort, do you think there is a better house and lot option with a budget of 10M and below? none. so yes, condo is better than H&L in the metro. Sa probinsya ka lang pwede mag H&L.

Just like HK and Singapore, condominium is your best option.

used to live in a house in the suburbs in QC, took us 2 hours or more to get to Makati due to traffic then; now baka 3 hours na yun.

moved to a condo closer to Makati, but still in QC, closer pa rin sa school ng kids; less travel time, more convenient, safer too, lock and go.

may move to makati by next year, so we'll see if it is a house or a condo there.

we'll move the kids there, para dun na lang kami, traffic is getting really bad.
