i vote for no...

'di naman tulad ng fantasy baseball ang basketball na kung saan once a week lang naglalaro ang isang player = starting pitcher... ito ang reason kung bakit na-formulate ang pitcher cycling...

regarding the extra util/bench slot... i also vote for no...

magiging thin masyado ang fa pool... lalo na at 14 teams tayo... normal public leagues ay hanggang 12 teams lang...

teka... ask ko lang... may DL slot ba?...

Yes: 1 vote

No: 4 votes

Re additional util/bench spot,

This was already raised prior to the draft any there was no strong support from the managers. In fact, I even reduced the C spot to one precisely because we did not want the FA pool to be too thin. In any case, I do not see the 60-move limit as a restraint at all. Sobra nga dami na nyan eh. Kung ako lang ang masusunod, kahit 30 or 40 pwede na.

oo nga... tama lang yun 60... i forgot the objective of trimming the rosper spot, sorry po, heheh...

...btw, ang lupit pa rin ng dukot mo dun sa jorge garbajosa...

...anyway, i've joined fatso's "vince mcmahon's kiss my a$$ cup" fantasy league, and, man, nabuo ko yung isa sa gusto kong set-up ng team (although di ko alam kung mananalo ba ito or what)... i call my team "S. W. A. T."... go figure...

Wade gets the nod at the top of the list, as Kobe's knee injury becomes more worrisome by the day. Late last week, Bryant said the knee was still feeling "ginger," and Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak said on Monday that they don't "know for sure" that Kobe will be able to play on opening night. You really need to think about using a mid-first round pick on Bryant at this point. While Wade hasn't been without his own issues this preseason, at this point he appears to be the best pick at his position.

Allen is, of course, known for his ridiculous amount of 3PTM, but he's a solid contributor overall. He's a brilliant scorer from anywhere on the court, he'll help you in FT percentage about as much as anyone in fantasy hoops, and he posts respectable totals in rebounds, assists, and steals, to boot.

Pierce is just on the cusp of the first round. If he can get his FT percentage back above 80 percent and his turnovers back below 3.0 per game, his numbers will likely put him there in terms of overall value.

Redd has improved his numbers in each of the past five seasons, and last season he put up among the best offensive numbers in the game. His percentages are golden for a high-volume shooter, he's always low-turnover, and he puts up respectable ancillary numbers.

Carter is entering a contract year, of sorts. He's got a player option in '07-'08, and VC strikes me as a guy that will play hard when a higher salary could be the result – Note: I'll never stop busting his chops for sandbagging in Toronto. Regardless, he's likely to put up very good numbers once again.

Johnson's production will be somewhat different this season with Speedy Claxton aboard. His overall value to a fantasy team won't wane, as his offense could see another spike while his assists and turnovers dip slightly.

Wallace and Smith have the potential to carry their fantasy teams to the championship as third round picks. All Wallace needs to do is play 70-plus games, and all Smith needs to do is play 35-plus minutes for the entire season … not so simple, is it? Both of these players' fantasy potential is other-worldly, as are their risk/reward scenarios.

Speaking of risk/reward, all indications are that McGrady is healthy entering the '06-'07 season. It wasn't that long ago that McGrady was a sure-fire first round pick. While last season's roller-coaster ride is still fresh in fantasy owners' minds, a return to form for T-Mac would make him the veritable steal of a large percentage of league drafts.

Richardson has been rehabbing his knee since his August 22 surgery, and was just cleared to resume practices as of Tuesday. With the Warriors looking to run more this season, Richardson stands to lose some 3PTM, which helped buoy his fantasy impact last season. Throw in the fact that he'll undoubtedly show some rust in the early going, and it's hard to rate J-Rich any higher than this.

With Hinrich, what you see is likely what you get – his fantasy contributions have remained fairly constant across the board. A continuation of his slow, steady climb in FG percentage would be most beneficial to his overall impact.

SLEEPER: Turkoglu finally has a full-time starting gig from the get-go, regardless of Grant Hill's availability or lack of it. Fantasy owners should take note, as Turk will supply solid scoring and 3PTM totals, top-tier FT percentage, and decent supporting stats.

Mo Pete very quietly had an outstanding season for the Raptors last year in a career-high 38.2 minutes per game. The influx of guard-forwards to the Toronto roster coupled with a change in philosophy won't set him back a great deal, but he seems unlikely to top last season's playing time and subsequent production.

Miller is another player in the Turkoglu/Peterson mold who stands to see more playing time this season. He'll appear among the league leaders in 3PTM if he approaches 35 minutes-per-game.

Howard and Ginobili are both guys that I'd love to rate higher, but neither appears very likely to play a full season. Howard's per-game numbers certainly have the potential to improve, however. For Ginobili, playing 30 minutes-per-game when he is healthy doesn't seem any more realistic than appearing in 80-plus games.

Hamilton and Gordon are true offensive specialists. Look to grab Rip if you need straight scoring and help in the percentages, and grab Gordon if you want lots of threes and can deal with a sub-par FG percentage. Neither player will give you much else.

BUST: I'm calling Szczerbiak a potential bust because of his health, not his per-game production. While he hasn't been the subject of any highly-publicized injury updates, he's quietly still been battling stiffness and pain in his knee and has been rested sporadically throughout the preseason as a "precautionary" measure. With the thoughts of an inactive Szczerbiak taking up roster space for parts of the season in my mind, I can't help but downgrade him. Delonte West figures to benefit most from any absences.

SLEEPER: I've been trumpeting Martin all preseason, so why stop now. Mike Bibby's injury puts to rest, at least temporarily, the speculation that John Salmons will steal his minutes, as Salmons will be helping Jason Hart run the point. The first few weeks of the season will allow Martin's play to start cashing the checks that my mouth (err, computer?) has been writing.

It's hard to like Jackson or Hughes a great deal. They are low percentage, high turnover players who don't do enough in a positive way to really make up for it. Grab Jackson late if you need extra threes and Hughes if you need steals.

Childress and Deng will once again be scratching and clawing for playing time, but they both certainly make the most of what they get.

Francis is likely to start at shooting guard for the Knicks, but I'm not sold on it turning out very well from a fantasy perspective. Francis is too far removed from the 21-point, six-rebound, six-assist days that made up for his lackluster FG percentage and high volume of turnovers. Jamal Crawford was a very effective player for the Knicks late last season, yet will be backing up Francis.

BUST: Call me conservative, but I can't draft Maggette at all. If you've shown the propensity for injuries prior to missing 50 games in a single season, I find it difficult to rationalize a pick outside of the very late rounds.

Wells and Simmons are both nursing injuries, and Wells has not been with the Rockets because of personal reasons. Wells may struggle to find a niche with Houston, and Simmons could find it tough to reclaim big minutes if Ruben Patterson and Charlie Bell play well in his absence.

Pietrus is getting his big shot, as he will start for the Warriors at small forward in a contract season. I'm not sold on his putting up very good numbers on a consistent basis, but, in Don Nelson's offense, everyone has upside.

aha... kukunin mo si claxton ha... hehehehehe...

He he, secret. :hypocritesmiley: Garbajosa is a player I consider waiver wire fodder at this point. Since I need to fine tune my team to shore up my weaknesses in some roster positions, I will not hesitate to drop him if necessary. He is a forward. I need a center and/or a guard. Talagang may malalaglag. At marami naman talagang mga "good" players na malalaglag even from other teams in the course of the season. :D

Contrary to Buser's forecast, I am quite high on Corey M. I think this will be a bounce back season for him. He can score, get a few rebounds and shoot the free ball with the best of them.

For the sake of my team, I hope and believe Bonzi will not struggle to find a niche in Houston. He is a viable third scoring option behind T-Mac and Yao and he can rebound better than some big men in the league. If he gets consistent minutes from JVGundy, he will be the steal of my draft.

SGs I want to have on my team, other than the established stars of course: Kevin Martin and Josh Howard.

yeah, similar to stro's status with my team... am holding on to bargnani, though...

...well, let's see how the season goes... you'll probably beat me to claxton's services, but heck, that's what waiver priorities are for...

10/24 13:11 Hawks: Claxton back at practice

The News

Hawks guard Speedy Claxton returned to practice on Tuesday after missing five weeks with a broken left middle finger. Coach Mike Woodson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Claxton will play on Friday against Charlotte in the team's final preseason game.

Our View

Claxton has sleeper written all over him this year as the starting job is his as long as he's healthy.

Wowoweee!!!!

10/24 18:43 Rockets: Wells returns to practice

The News

Shooting guard Bonzi Wells returned to practice on Tuesday after being absent the previous four days due to personal reasons. Wells is expected to make his Rockets debut in Thursday's preseason game against the Magic, the Rockets website reported.

Our View

Wells has been dealing with a groin injury during the preseason, but the more pressing concern is if he will receive starter's minutes while sharing time with Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier. At this point, consider him a risky fantasy pick considering his limited upside.

Prove 'em wrong Bonzi.

10/24 19:54 Lakers: Bryant plays in scrimmage

The News

Lakers guard Kobe Bryant participated in the team's full court scrimmage in practice Tuesday, his first since off-season right knee surgery, according to ESPN.com. "It was good enough to get through practice," he said. "We had a lot of breaks in between plays."

Our View

Bryant will likely be ready for the Lakers season opener, which is November 1st at Golden State. He should be selected high in the first-round of you fantasy draft.

As for Speedy, mas mataas waiver priority ni Consig sa akin. Kukunin mo ba sya pare?
