Jourdan
We're exporting so many nurses and caregivers because they themselves cannot support themselves. It's going to be progressively worse. The biggest issue in the states is the impending bankruptcy of social security in fifteen years. In Japan, they're starting to export their old to cheaper countries like Thailand, hindi lang home for the aged, retirement packages na because they can't take care of their own. I don't want to be exported to an African country when it's my turn to get old.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> not necessarily...the japs call these "pension homes"...they don't see this as their "inability" to take care of their elders...this is business sense...they see that it's cheaper to build and maintain facilities in 3rd world countries than in japan, so that's the thing that they do...they get a lot more for a lot less...this is again, "japanese business sense" ar work... and did you know that it's a lot cheaper for japs to go to and fro phils to play a round of golf than play 18 holes in japan??? u see now the disparity between the costs of living in japan and in a 3rd world??? that's a big motivation y japs are sending "away" their elders... they've actually contemplated on putting one on the islands of romblon...they see it as a ideal place for retired couples...very scenic and near to boracay...in fact, the japs are willing to put up a small power plant to support the island...the only problem is that pinoy local officials started asking for payolas, w/c of course infuriated the japs...they then decided to abandon the idea. den monroe
It would help if foreigners can own land. Right now condo yes pero land bawal. I don't know, short of amending the constitution if there is a way to give foreigners in retirment communities the assurance of ownership Quote Link to comment
hsmeilop
pwede rin siguro. pero specific lang yung area na pwede nyang bilhin. at dapat residential lang. di pwede commercial, industrial or agrictultural land. Quote Link to comment
jetrink
it will be better if foreigners are able to own industrial land or at the very leastlong term leases. they will pump foreign direct investment in industrial concernsif they own the propery. and unlike portfolio/stock investments, they cannot takethe land physically back to their country. also to amend the Bangko Sentral charter, allowing it (B/Sentral) to buy bondsfrom local governments, payable in future taxes. that will pump prime the economy of various local governments. and we will not need to always resortto foreign borrowings which opens us to currency fluctuations. Guest khoki
Separation of Church and State. Quote Link to comment
skitz
Honestly, I don't have an idea how to go about this. But there has to be some way to regulate "cults". Problem number one, separation of church and state... and also, who's to decide a cult from a bonafide religious sect. Problem sa mga kulto. Una, pera lang yan. Estafa case dapat... kundi lang ginamitan ng "faith". At yung iba pa. Nagiging violent. Clearly there is a need for some kind of legislation. Any idea guys/gals? Quote Link to comment

skitz
ABOLISH ALL NON-PERFORMING/REDUNDANT GOVERNMENT AGENCIES Ano ba talaga ang ginagawa ng DILG? Ever bother to ask this question? How much is this costing our national budget? Kung ito ang unang ginawa ng gobyerno (cut the fat from government expenditures) ... bago nagpasa ng bagong tax measures, siguro mas naging katanggap-tanggap pa. Quote Link to comment
ihateyouandme
Everybody ,college grad or undergrad, will be allowed on all positions in ALL companies here in the philippines. For as long as they can show and have shown in the past that they are capable in handling the positions given to them. There shouldn't be the so-called minimum requirements with regards to degree attainment because we all know that education is quite expensive to get around. Education shouldn't be so expensive in the Philippines. We have to lessen the requirement in order for an individual to earn a decent living. We should remove the unnecessary units/programs in a certain course ..such as PE, Values education, WCT, ...If we want to have learned individual focus on the most important things..
