  1. the plank is a good excercise for the core. rotation exercise also (preferrably done with a weight say a medicine ball or something). And bridging (front and back).

i second that. i wanted to challenge myself with my sprint workout, so i went to this straight road where these three dogs hang out. every time i go to sprint, they chase me down until about 100 meters. so i jog back and repeat. they never did catch up.

  3. Please critique my current program.

Fitness Goal for the next 6 months: I dont want to get buffed up too much since it will slow me down in my sport. I want to maintain my speed, and be well-toned overall but have my pecs, delts, shoulders, sides, and gastrocs ripped. So, my program focuses on power, speed, and endurance which involves more reps than more weights. My metabolism is average to above average, I think. With these in mind, here is my program...

sir, didn't i meet you at another thread?

i didn't quote the program to avoid flooding. first of all, nice diet. if you can stick to it, good. personally, i just go with my instincts. i eat about 9 times a day. i'm a really picky eater (as they say in that virgo thread. haha). i don't like the greasy stuff and the stuff that taste too sweet, or too salty. (i know. good for me, right?) i just set the alarm, and eat every 2 - 3 hours.

now if i read correctly, you want power, speed, and endurance. then, you want that ripped model-like physique. sounds to me like sports conditioning. check out ross enamait. http://www.rossboxing.com/ i think the the previously posted program contained too much isolation lifting. leave that to the bodybuilders. stick to compound lifts. personally, i do only six lifts. deadlifts, squats, rows, bench presses, snatches, clean & jerk / press. (sometimes i break down the c & j into individual lifts. i feel lazy.) for strength and power, i mostly do 2 sets of 5 with adequate rest. i just adjust how heavy i go. kept me at a steady weight, although i feel faster and stronger than ever.

i'm a recreational athlete myself. although i don't usually have a training schedule, i try to get some basic structure in my weekly workouts. how i used to train: 3 interval runs/sprints, 2 strength training (mostly weights), 2 power training (lifts or plyo), 3 core, 2 conditioning (mostly circuit intervals), and yoga on sundays.

    seriously sir, what's your sport?

  4. And in all honesty, the guys who always says that in the gym are often the guys who are really weak and achieve a mediocre at best type of physique.

funny how people are capable of conjuring up preposterous excuses to avoid what is hard. stop bitching around and put some damn weight on that deadlift.

  5. i find it funny how people do not lift weights because they "don't want to get huge." if it were that easy to get huge, bodybuilders would not be "bodybuilders." they would simply be "people who lift weights." do they even know how much effort it takes to increase calorie intake, and gain lean mass? ignorance ignorance ignorance. sorry for ranting, it's just frustrating when you work so hard to pack on pounds of muscle, while weekend warriors and gym moms and beach boys and model wannabes genuinely believe they can ACCIDENTALLY get that big.

  6. Infatuation is also falling in love, the thread does not only consider those who made a move, those who havn't are also welcome to share whsat they feel. Cause you will eventually make a move if you get enough courage to do so. But there are some who does not need courage, and are natural in courting women. Get tip-s and learnings from this thread before you make a move.

from a psychological point of view, i'd have to agree. fatuous love = passion + commitment

always had these bouts of infatuation and obsession since i was in my teens. i have my top three.

probably the most memorable one was a KTV solo performer in timog, taft, and cubao. i was infatuated with her for four years, even though i only saw her for six months total. i even searched the clubs of cainta when i heard rumors that she worked there, searching for a girl with a tribal tattoo on her lower back. justified due to the fact that she was the only woman i knew. saw her a while back with a guy on a motorcycle.

another time was in my 20's. there was this KTV dancer from cubao who was very difficult to contact, and always left me prematurely, without finishing her lady's drink (she always said she was going to the bathroom). after almost a year without seeing her at the club, i was still waiting for her like a fcuking idiot, visiting every week. i even downloaded the songs she performed. i'd see one or two women that i liked, but it would always end up with me missing her. maybe it's the simultaneous orgasms.

then, my latest one. the one i never got to bang. one i would describe as pure obsession. in a span of three weeks, i spent so much on this bitch, that i don't even want to think about it. she never replies to my messages and she never answers my calls, but there come times when she would call end text like crazy. and lately, she has this hot-cold thing going on that i really don't understand, mixing the cold shoulder with passionate kisses. i've promised myself more than once that i would never spend another buck on her again. that never seemed to stop me. especially when i see her onstage. damn. it is extremely frustrating how every time you attempt to make a move, the universe seems to work together to prevent you from achieving what you want. and the worst part is that when i try to get laid somewhere else, i end up not wanting to get laid at all. imagine having frustrated sex with someone, but thinking of someone else. even if the girl can give the best blow job, it wouldn't matter, because your thoughts are elsewhere, with someone else. and after you finish, when you thought thoughts of her would not pester your mind anymore, there she is again. your sex drive is down, but you're still thinking about her. bothersome. infatuation. obsession.

  7. Rogue Magazine's Black Tie Brawl will be held tom. 7PM at the Hyatt Hotel.

I didn't promote the event here too much due to the exorbitantly high cost of the tickets (Php 10,000), which is said to include a six course dinner at the Hyatt.

Anyhow goodluck to everyone who'll be fighting. To my coach Karlo Sevilla especially (had one last sparring session with him last night) who will be fighting highly touted Jerry 'the Destroyer' Legaspi from Hybrid Yaw Yan.

Jerson Estoro (W via KO) vs. Arnel Arancina

Robert Serdone vs. Jessi Rafols (W via KO)

Karlo Sevilla vs. Jerry Legaspi (W via RSC)

Marlon Abrigoso vs. Lando Espiniosa (W via KO)

Badong Domasian vs. Carl Sabiniano (W via Submission (Gogoplata))

  9. i've been on almost the same menu for 4 years. oatmeal/peanut butter on wholemeal/something with two eggs for breakfast (0600H); canned tuna, seaweed, wholemeal bread for lunch (1200H); meat and vegetables for dinner (2000); and a glass of milk before bed. i have fruits (any fruit) and energy drinks (enervon hp/milo) in between, consuming every 2.5 hours.

great thing is to do your cardio workout every morning or else do your cardio after 8 hours na kumain ka. Para for sure na mahahagip mong masusunog ang mga taba mo.

never let more than 3 hours pass without eating. bad for the metabolism.
