Back To The 70's

It is known that ...

Tina Monasterio is (one of the) special friends of PING LACSON. If any of you wached his bio=flick, Tina was portrayed as his domestic companion during his assignment in Cebu. According to rumors they have a child

Lollie Imperial is the wife of Dennis Roldan..she was in some of the news coverages when Dennis was caught for kidnapping etc...

Susan Henson was featured in the Buzz as a recovering DA

Tet Antiquiera and Ellen Esguerra = both have passed away na.

Toni Rose' first husband was MOONIE LIM (father EDDIE was once President of Phil Stock Ex) who then became Irene Salud's (of the KIREI thing) second husband (her first being pinoy superman look-a-like Miguel Rodriguez RIP).

Wala lang just had to share the info. :)

I agree with you. Reminds me of my college days when it seemed na there was always a rumor for every pretty and popular girl in campus. Na supposedly daw at one time or another e nahuli sa parking lot "servicing" a boyfriend, etc.

How true....note the operative word, only PRETTY and POPULAR..........the rumors are actually NOT started by the BOYs....... (although meron din) but rather by Evil, Envious, Pontificating, Holier-than-thou ..and OFTEN times PLAIN-looking girls...akala kasi nila by disparaging the pretty and popular will level the playing field............e hindi pa rin. :)

Regent's basement - QUEUE

Top of Silahis - Stargazer

Top dessert of 70s parties or typars - brownies

Question: What's the counterpart of T-back or thongs in the 70s?

Ahhh, thank you for refreshing my memory. Queue and Stargazer. You know what they used to say about the 60's and 70's....."If you remember it, you weren't there!"

I've had a few embarassing pratfalls at the Queue before. Not the kind of moments I wish to remember.

...must've been those brownies.

folks, for the last couple of hours, i have been looking at a few pages on this thread just to see what 70's topics have been brought up in the past. i must say that it felt like a journey "back home" most of the time. i wish i had stumbled upon it earlier talaga. based on the few pages i've read (ang dami na kasi, eh), some of you have incredible memories of how things used to be. i often found myself wishing i could have butted-in to share my own recollections of our times as i was having my own moments of nostalgia while reading your posts. whether it was about movies, tv, places, pakas, social norms, music, pop-culture, basketball, etc., i can also say.....i also loved the 70's. when i first came in here to mtc, i wondered if the 36+ group had more people under 40, but with some posts i've read, it got me thinking..."some of these guys have got to be somewhere close to their mid-40's". then, i find out that a few eb's have already been held attended by most of the regular posters. man, i've been late, haven't i? the point i wanted to make here was that those few pages i've seen so far made me feel better about being in here. what's the difference with that 36+ thread anyway? parang pareho lang kasi, or something i don't know. i hope this thread hasn't peaked yet. with so many lurkers out there who spent some of the best years of their lives in the 70's, sana a few more would come out and take a wholesome break from the raging hormones that dominate the atmosphere in here (not that ours have stopped raging, hehe). oops, mahaba na pala 'to. i made my point na nga kanina pa...daldal! :P

Sa likod pa ng Frederick, doon pa dati ang bilihan ng "papel", diba? Oops... :hypocritesmiley:

...at ng "mahiwagang halaman?" :P :hypocritesmiley:

The Pop Culture of the 70s was crazed by pot and pills (both downers and uppers). To be "in" or "cool" then one has to experience the highs (or rush) and the lows of these drugs, and speak the linggo of the

d(u)rug culture. In good 'ole La Salle-Taft, the Canteen then was one hell (or should I say heaven) of a place to be. By brunchtime, the whole place is Cloud 9 and i mean like some heavy fog just envelopes the entire area as if by cue from the users and the pushers. Even the nerds and our bros. from the scholasticate would get their share of the holy smokes from their brethren. Man, the dean and the rest of the school admin can only look at the whole scene in awe and utter helplessness. Those were the days!

Pareng Mandrake,

Kung sa College Canteen (sa may Velasco building) ang tinutukoy mo, I suspect na si Mr. Zaide ang pusher. Hehehe Biro lang po, Mr. Zaide, wherever you are. :D

Ms. Augustmoon,

How are you? Medyo bago lang din ako dito pero madaldal rin. Anyway, I agree with your points, most especially with the plain-looking girls. Based on experience, wala pa rin ngang pumansin doon sa mga plain-looking ones na masasama pa ang ugali. Medyo talo na nga ang mukha, talo pa ang ugali. Iyong iba kahit lasing na ako dehin pa rin maganda. Oh well....

Yeah man! Blame it on the brownies.

One of my bragging rights then was not paying those cover charges in Discos.

The difference here is we're limited to the happenings of the 70s. We were very young and restless then.

Isn't it nice and wonderful to be young again?

Answer: G-String? :P

I'm thinking more of 'la typan.

Haven't posted for a while...Mandrake was talking about the "green leafy substance"...just a few weeks ago, I visited a high school classmate in Makati for legal consultations. After our meeting, we decided to have a drink. Imagine my surprise when he offered me some "kilay"...you guys remember Mogs? Hah, haven't popped one of those for decades. Well, to end the story, I took two and we had a great time reminiscing about the 70s, like all of you folks are doing here. Hey Storm, kumusta na? we must have an EB soon.
