Back To The 70's

Actually, this was one of those rumors na narinig ko about her supposed "wild" days in the US.

Mahirap talaga mag-salita, pero all I can add is that she's human...plain and simple. People go through phases in their lives that don't always turn out the way they'd wish. We all make mistakes as we find our way in life, and she was entitled to her own. I have also heard these kind of rumors before, but they are usually told by people who weren't there. If they were, it's usually a "friend of a friend" who starts the rumors. In most cases, the original "rumor" becomes a different story by the time it gets to others.

If ever these rumors were true, do people usually focus on how it got that way? I bet not, especially when it's about popular people. Only the "meaty part" is what matters, right? I suppose anyone's entitled to believe what they wish, as long as it doesn't lead to passing judgement.

My 2 cents. Peace...

I agree with you. Reminds me of my college days when it seemed na there was always a rumor for every pretty and popular girl in campus. Na supposedly daw at one time or another e nahuli sa parking lot "servicing" a boyfriend, etc.

You're right. People do make mistakes. Unfortunately, for some people who are quite popular or who are celebrities, such mistakes get magnified by a lot.

Toni (only child of 50s screen actress and now Red Cross guru Ms. Rosa Rosal) was married for quite a while to a chinoy La Sallite, which did not quite work out well. In one of her testimonials at the 700 Club Asia, she admitted to her "wild" days with drugs and alchohol until her close call with death over a violent car accident sometime in the 80s.

She has completely tranformed herself and we truly admire her for strength and faith. Saw her up close at Rockwell last year and has remained gorgeous over all those years.

Speaking of wine and roses in the 70s, I remember TET ANTIQUERA doing her wet and wild thing at Velvet Slum. Don't we all love the 70s!

Yeah, Toni Rose was married to a guy whose last name was Lim. I can't recall his first name though. He was in the stock brokerage business I believe.

I can still vaguely remember watching her dance dun sa show na Discorama...super sexy talaga! I think she joined the "bold" bandwagon in the 80s? Pati si Janet Bordon whom I also liked.

Susan henson too! And Crispy, and Toni Rose, and....tama na nga! Hanggang crush lang naman ako eh! Hahaha! :P

Carmen Ronda got married to an Imperial from Bicol. Saw her in person once when they were checking out our house. Sexy talaga! Hehehe!

She's a long time friend from those days in CA. I'm not sure I'd describe her as "wild" dahil kilala ko naman yung pagka-tao niya, though it's been more than 5 yrs. since I last saw her. In my book, she's really cool. I wish I knew how to reach her again.

Si Tetet naman, she was a long time GF of a clasmate. Naturally, we were all jealous of him. When you meet her in person and hear her laughter, nakaka-aliw na talaga. Sigh...

I've also had my share of beauty queens, starlets that later got popular, and a model or 2 (it helped to have a sister who was once a Rustan's VIP exec. ;)) during the late 70's to early 80's. Nowadays, I'm just another guy who's past his prime.....Shet!

Tetet was also in the list of my barkadas crushes when we were in high school. Hindi na ko nakisali sa kanila. I dig women with big tantalizing eyes.

Well, my one really big crush during the 70s was Princess Caroline of Monaco, she was so dang hot in looks at that time. My other big crush was a girl whose name was Malou Mendoza, she used to appear quite often in "Jingle". Needless to say I used to bring a copy or two with me to the bathroom to "sing" to.

Si Janet Bordon naman with her noticeable nunal has the most projects with Agrix Films. paborito yata siya ng CEO na si Sofronio Blando who later went to jail, if i remember it right, when agrix films got bankrupt.

i also remember Ellen Esguerra a.k.a. panty-less queen.

Well said, Mandrake. TRG and I would laugh about those "ol' days". I know just about everything she was going through at the time, pero I didn't know about the car accident till she told me that last time we saw each other. Mabait na tao talaga si Toni. Beautiful inside and outside. What more could a man ask for? She may seem to be out-of-place at times in Eat Bulaga, but at the same time, it's also what makes her stand out IMHO.

Who doesn't remember TA? For those who can recall Circuit sa Hyatt, the basement at the Regent (4got the name), the top of Silahis (4got the name too, pero a bit later na 'to), and Velvet Slum at Hotel Frederick, TA was all over these places. There's one who fit into the "wild" world. Oops... :hypocritesmiley:

Regent's basement - QUEUE

Top of Silahis - Stargazer

Top dessert of 70s parties or typars - brownies

Question: What's the counterpart of T-back or thongs in the 70s?
