riceb0i
YEY!! Philippines is on top of the list that Dana and the UFC plans to go to... UFC goes worldwide... First stop, Philippines!! Hope Dana puts an awesome card on their visit in the Philippines.. Can't wait...yeah, most probably Brandon would be there, and i hope he squashes his opponent here and not do a Franklin in Cincinnati Well yes he does. But then again how much of how his BJJ develops will also depend on how it will fit with the way he fights. As Joe Rogan said, some guys would rather ride and GNP (guys like Tito or Randy). Brock is a former Division 1 NCAA Wrestling Champion, he 's a wrestler and that will always be his strength. As for his BJJ the most I think that he needs to develop is his submission defense and maybe that would be enough for him to win even against the toughest competition. In terms of ground control and base Brock already has that courtesy of his wrestling (He spent majority of the fight either on Herring's back or on mount if you remember). If he can keep that kind of base and posture and know how to defend submissions even the Napao's and the Nog's of the world would have a hard time with him. Keep in mind that BJJ in MMA is different. The fact that it's no gi favors Brock as there are less submissions to defend. Also it does get a lot harder to submit someone as an MMA fight wears on cause of the excess sweat (and blood). Add to that the fact that he has the first hands in the UFC to ever wear 4XL gloves and his fists can cause a lot of damage even within someone's guard. Speaking of BJJ. That Damian Meia dude is a real badass on the ground. He nearly got Jason McDonald(another talented ground specialist) in a triangle choke during the first round of their fight and eventually got him in a rear naked choke to finish him off.of course sub defense is more based on BJJ as well, what i meant was if he'd still be complacent on his fight, even with his mass and athleticism, he'd still get subbed by a first class BJJ practioner who fights in MMA, besides those dudes would have an edge of getting in more fights in the same situation than Brock. yeah, Damian Meia is a badass, he's a BJJ Mundials champ and if i'm not mistaken he's also a ADCC champ. dude's got potential, but not quite ready for the Spider though, hope they don't rush him into fighting Silva as i don't like my favorite fighters duking it out between themselves UFC 88: Breakthrough Main CardLight Heavyweight Bout: Chuck Liddell vs. Rashad EvansLight Heavyweight Bout: Rich Franklin vs. Matt HamillWelterweight Bout: Karo Parisyan vs. Yoshiyuki YoshidaMiddeweight Bout: Dan Henderson vs. Rousimar PalharesMiddleweight Bout: Nate Marquardt vs. Martin Kampmann Preliminary CardLightweight Bout: Thiago Tavares vs. Kurt PellegrinoWelterweight Bout: Matt Brown vs. Dong Hyun KimMiddleweight Bout: Jason Day vs. Jason Lambert[2]Light Heavyweight Bout: Tim Boetsch vs. James LeeWelterweight Bout: Roan Carneiro vs. Ryo Chonan Take your picks for the next show! :headsetsmiley:i hope Chuck shuts Rashad's mouth, nah Chuck should include Rashad's eyes first time in ages that Rich would be fighting in LHW again, hope he does good in this weight classi'd love to see Karo throw another tantrum hehehehe who's that dude that Hollywood is fighting? don't know much about that fighteri hope Nate Marquardt bounces off from that loss he had last fight and beat this dude convincingly.hope they show the Chonnan fight, he's one of my favorite fighters. That would be a great match showcasing "slick" technical BJJ. But Rousimar got his plate full in the meantime dealing with former PRIDE Champ Dan Henderson another world class wrestler. If its not a killing, I dont know whats the proper term for that... Nagmukhang tanga si Herring, which was the heavy favorite before the fight. Look at Herring's face, its too much of a damage the whole three rounds... Lets not equate KILLING = submission or knockout, it can be a total dismantling or dissecting of one's opponent, especially if it involves a whole lot of beating... Hype will always be part and parcel of MMA, particularly UFC. Lalo na kay Brock Lesnar, many MMA purists consider him as a "CARTOON" character in the UFC... Imagine a cartoon character wrecking havoc and inflicting pain. That is something. Regarding the UFC in the Philippines, thats another hype, hehehehe! Quote Link to comment

Serial Killer
Rumor: Rampage Vs. Wanderlei Silva Could Be Possible For UFC 91 MMABay.com is reporting that a source very close to the negoiations has stated that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Wanderlei Silva could meet for a third time at UFC 91 in November. This is all just a rumor at this point and no one from either camp or the UFC has confirmed anything. From MMABay Mmabay have learned from a very reliable source that the main event for the yet to be announced November show, UFC 91, will be between former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva. Although no location has been determined for the event to take lace at this time, the UFC have been busy in putting together one of the biggest and most anticipated matches in UFC history. Both have aspirations of getting into the title mix and this fight, although very dangerous for both will greatly propel the winner up the ranks for a possible shot next year. Quote Link to comment

Ah wala ba ngayon si Jeff dito? Hehe. Anyhow if I may add the Fabricio in alabang is actually a residence of one of the club's members Manny Jimenez and technically the place is in las pinas already (pala) malapit lang daw sa toyota along alabang zapote road though I haven't gotten the chance to visit the place. geneticfreak
may mga rumors ngayon na ang susunod daw na kalaban ni Brock ay si Kongo... cgurado gulpi si lesnar dito kay negro. I beg to differ sir. Kongo may have an advantage in the standup department against Brock but after what we saw in the Herring fight I think lesnar can actually hold his own against him even standing up. But of course that's not what's probabbly gonna happen. Lesnar has uncanny speed for a big man and this is a big plus for Brock especially if he decides to shoot for a double or a single on Kongo immediately (as what happened with Frank Mir who immediately got taken down seconds into the fight). Bottomline is. If Brock takes Kongo down I think he'll stay down. Herring a much smaller man was able to take him down and control him so I don't see Brock having any problem whatsoever having his way with Kongo once it hits the mat and with Lesnar's speed, strength and wrestling pedigree I think it'll only be a matter of seconds before that happens. Olympus
that's why I'm insisting that let's see if Lesnar can handle guys like Fabricio Werdum who are world class grapplers with decent standup Quote Link to comment
