ADMINISTRATOR MTC Posted May 18 ADMINISTRATOR Share Posted May 18 68 storeys. 140 rooms. The only Filipino-owned five-star luxury hotel in the Makati Central Business District. Named Asia's Leading Business Hotel by the World Travel Awards 2025. Discovery Primea is the quiet luxury choice — the address the affluent Filipino business traveler chooses when they don't need a brand to vouch for them. The Filipino-Owned Five-Star In Makati's central luxury cluster — the Peninsula, the upcoming Mandarin Oriental, the Raffles-Fairmont complex, Dusit Thani, Shangri-La — every five-star is operated under an international hotel brand. Every one except Discovery Primea. Discovery Primea is owned and operated by Discovery Hotels & Resorts — a Filipino hospitality group also responsible for Discovery Suites (Ortigas), Discovery Shores Boracay, Discovery Coron, and other domestic properties. The group's flagship Makati property is the only Filipino-owned five-star in the Makati CBD. For affluent Filipino business travelers, this is a structural fact that matters. Discovery Primea is the property where the booking does not require explaining to international colleagues; the service is calibrated for Filipino sensibilities; and the loyalty program rewards continued domestic patronage. The property is less internationally visible than Peninsula or Shangri-La — and that is, for many of the property's repeat guests, the entire point. The 68-Storey Tower Discovery Primea occupies a 68-storey tower in the heart of the Makati CBD — making it one of the taller hotel-residential buildings in the district. The vertical configuration means the property's upper-floor rooms have substantial skyline aspect; the lower floors include the lobby, the public spaces, and the operational infrastructure. The hotel and the Discovery Primea Serviced Residences share the building, with the residences on certain floors and the hotel on others. The mixed-use structure means the property operates with the residential calm that the all-transient hotels lack. The 140 Rooms Discovery Primea operates with a deliberately compressed inventory — 140 rooms, suites, and lofts across the 68 storeys. This is fewer than 1/3 the inventory of Peninsula or Manila Marriott. The smaller scale produces a different operational rhythm: Less queue at check-in Faster room service More attentive housekeeping More personal lobby interaction with staff The room categories include: Premier Rooms — entry-tier, with the property's contemporary luxury design Premier Plus Rooms — upgraded floor positions Premier Lofts — the property's signature loft-format accommodation, with multi-level interior design Premier Suites — separate sitting areas Specialty Suites — including the Specialty Categories Presidential Suite — the property's signature top-floor accommodation The room amenities include personal safes, flat-screen cable/satellite TVs, seating areas, electric kettles, coffee machines, and the private bathroom standard (bathtub, shower, hairdryer, full toiletries). The Value Calculation One of Discovery Primea's structural advantages is its value positioning relative to the international peer set. The property is often priced lower than the Sofitel-Hilton-Sheraton-Marriott tier — sometimes by significant margins — while delivering a comparable or better hotel experience in the Makati CBD position. For affluent Filipino business travelers paying for their own stays (not the corporate-account booking), the value calculation often favors Discovery Primea. The savings can be substantial across a multi-night stay; the service quality is uncompromised. The Recognition In 2025, Discovery Primea was named Asia's Leading Business Hotel by the World Travel Awards — a meaningful international recognition for a Filipino-owned property competing in a category dominated by the global hotel brand portfolios. The award is a vote of confidence in the property's operating standard and the consistency of its service delivery. The Dining Discovery Primea operates a focused dining program: The Restaurant — the all-day international dining room with breakfast through dinner service The Lobby Lounge — for cocktails, afternoon tea, and casual meetings Privé — the property's specialty dining concept In-suite dining — the room service program, calibrated for the property's residential-feel ethos The dining is less expansive than the volume luxury properties' multi-concept rosters; the focus is on quality and consistency rather than breadth. The Infinity Pool, Fitness, and Spa Discovery Primea's outdoor infinity pool — positioned on the upper floors of the property with skyline views — is one of the more dramatic Manila hotel pools. The pool deck includes cabanas, day beds, and the pool service. The fitness center is the property's gym facility. The spa runs the contemporary luxury treatment menu. The Service Code Discovery Primea's service is calibrated to Filipino hospitality at its most polished. The brand's operating philosophy emphasizes: Anticipation of guest preferences Long-tenured staff who remember repeat guests The warm Filipino hospitality vocabulary A more relaxed register than the European-influenced Peninsula or Mandarin For affluent Filipino guests, this register is the differentiator — the service feels familiar, warm, attentive, without the formality of the international brand peers. When to Stay Discovery Primea operates year-round. Holy Week, Christmas-New Year, and the Chinese New Year are at peak. The weekday business pattern dominates, with the Discovery rewards program providing the loyal-customer continuity that the international loyalty programs cannot match. For affluent Filipino business travelers planning multi-night Makati stays, the Discovery rewards program is one of the more rewarding loyalty programs in the Philippine luxury market — points redeem across the Discovery portfolio (including the Boracay and Coron beach properties). Sir Galahad®
Tried this before, as far as serviced residences go, it is one of the best. Problem lang namin at the time is accessibility for pwds kasi pag labas mo need mo mag underpass to go to the other side (Glorietta). It does have a heated pool, which is a plus if magbook ka ng December. 1 Quote Link to comment
