"Lowering the income tax" is not accurate.

They increased the threshold of taxable income such that those earning PhP250k (?) per year need not pay income tax. The tax burden are taken up by other specific consumption tax measures and by those who are earning more.

 

This is what I have been arguing for. Majority of the people are already contributing to the tax revenue through the VAT and other consumption tax system. They don't need to pay income tax.

 

One thing I hope they add to TRAIN is that the able-bodied citizens who refuse to work and thus, donot contribute to to the nation's productivity, must PAY the government a certain premium before they can avail the government healthcare and social services.

The subway project is good.

 

But I'm just hoping when it is finally operational, they will maintain this system in excellent condition. That's the problem I see with all our previous MRT/LRT lines: they build it then they just let it rot. The stations aren't even well-maintained.

 

This is not a criticism of Duterte admin, but of how we generally launch projects like this... then neglect it.

In the real world oo di mangyayari yan kasi sabi ko ingrained na yan sa Filipino mentality. Kaya kahit puro Duterte legion ang manalo ganyan pa din magiging kalagayan nyan.

Naipaliwanag na yan. Di nyo lang maintindihan.

 

Dahil sa sobrang deteriorated na ang riles, hindi tatagal ang bagon - masisira agad uli. Para magamit ang mga bagong bagon, kelangan munang palitan at isa-ayos ang riles. Dapat yun ang unang ginawa ng nakaraang administrasyon, pero hindi nga ginawa.

 

Yan ngayon ang ginagawa ng kasalukuyang administrasyon. Isa-ayos muna ang riles at signalling system. Kaya pinalitan nila ng matinong Maintenance Contractor yung mga bobong gumagawa dati.

kung totoo ba naman at di speculation on your part but on the other hand kahit isa yan pero ang tagal nang hindi gumagana para sa iyo maayos ba maituturing ang maintenance?

 

pero kalimutan mo na ang escalator yun cleanliness na lang ng station at kung maayos ang lighting na basic maintenance anong masasabi mo? maayos ba ang maintenance? have you been to other countries like hkg, jpn, sing, twn to name a few? then you can probably compare those to ours and have a better perception. eh may istasyon nga na matatakot ka dahil ang dilim at kay dumi. pero don’t ask me if that is factual or am just speculating ... go and visit the stations. see it for youriself kung maayos ba lahat saka ka humirit.

Kung sinisimulan na ang repair sa riles, asan ang pruweba? Sabi mo kelangan i adjust muna yun para magamit yun bagong kaban diba? Assuming na hindi nga on spec yun kaban. Kung hindi nga gagamitin yun bagong kaban, ano na ginagawa nila? Bumili ba sila mga mas bagong kaban ba sa ibang suppliers?

 

Wala ako paki alam kung taasan man ang pamasahe o hindi. Basta ang alam ko responsibilidad ng kasalukuyang administrasyon yan MRT na yan ngayon. Kung naninisi kayo sa nakaraang administrasyon, eh para lang kayo yun mga dilawan dati na si GMA naman ang sinisisi nila.

Sa mga stations sa ibang bansa na nabanggit mo napapansin ko tuwing nandun ako masipag yun maintenance crew nila. Laging may nag pupunas ng mga dingding at sahig. Yun mga escalators pag nasira, ilang oras lang maayos na nila. Yun sahig nila malilinis. PWD friendly pa.

 

Palibhasa dito sa atin, may tumutubo nang mga damo sa kapal ng alikabok sa mga kisame. Yun sahig nakikita mo yun bakat ng floor mop sa alikabok na tila isang pasadang mop lang na binasa lang ng tubig at hinayaan na lang matuyo. Elevators ayos ng isang araw, the rest of the month offline. Pagka pasok mo pa nakaka lunod yun init sa elevators.

this argument applies to all the past admin as well and not exclusive to the current admin.

 

raising the fare to reduce the subsidy has been a long standing issue.
