FF
Magic Dazzle Jazz 101-90 ! Utah suffered its second loss in a row as the Orlando Magic ended a three-game losing streak with a 101-90 victory over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. Dwight Howard had 31 points and 15 rebounds. Howard also won the battle of the boards against Carlos Boozer, who is right behind the Magic star in the league rebounding statistics. Both are among the NBA's top four -- Howard third with 12 per game, Boozer tied for fourth with Charlotte's Emeka Okafor averaging 11.7. Boozer had seven rebounds to go with 29 points, while Mehmet Okur had 21 points and 12 rebounds. Derek Fisher scored 13 points and Deron Williams had 14 points and had 11 assists. The Jazz fell to 21-4 when the second-year point guard hits double digits in assists. Hedo Turkoglu chipped in 22 points and eight rebounds for Orlando, while Grand Hill scored 12 points. The Magic opened a 15-point lead near the end of the third quarter on J.J. Redick's two free throws, while Utah shot just 8-for-22 in the period. Howard extended the lead to 89-68 with just under 9 minutes left on a dunk following two offensive rebounds off long jumpers. The Magic nearly gave it away as Utah cut that lead to 92-88 with 2:46 left. Okur hit two 3-pointers, the second banked in, while Fisher added another. Howard fended off the run with back-to-back layups that put the game back out of reach. NOTES : The Jazz have two more games in this eastern road trip against Philly and the Cavs ; two teams on hot streaks of their own. if the Jazz don't toughen up , they'll be going home 0-4 Quote Link to comment
clubber_lang
Jazz better win against the Sixers in order to have some momentum against the Cavs. Come second round, they'll wish for these games... Quote Link to comment
FF
Jazz better win against the Sixers in order to have some momentum against the Cavs. Come second round, they'll wish for these games... thanks for the optimism clubber ! but with the way the jazz lost against miami and orlando ... maybe it would be better to rephrase that to : "IF the jazz make it to the second round...they'll wish for these games." Talagang kailangan nila ng momentum! Is Deron Williams eligible for Most Improved Player? Quote Link to comment
clubber_lang
He is actually. He'll face stiff competition from Kevin Martin and Monta Ellis... Quote Link to comment
FF
hey c.l ! kelan ba voting mg most improved ? dwill will dramatically impove his chances if the jazz make waves in the playoffs. notes: the jazz are facing philly today and the cavs tom. hope their level of play improves or the jazz will go home with a four game swoon. clubber_lang
Right before the playoffs start, the voting begins for every award... I see Deron winning for two reasons: 1) He is on a good team 2) Kevin Martin and Monta Ellis almost have the same impact, thus they might split the votes... FF
Sixers Add on to Jazz Woes ; Edge Jazz 89-88 Kyle Korver made the winning basket with 5.1 seconds left and Andre Iguodala scored 23 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to an 89-88 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday night. Korver got a shot at redemption after his offensive foul led to a Carlos Boozer basket that put the Jazz ahead. Sixers center Samuel Dalembert hit Gordan Giricek and knocked the guard down for several seconds on a hard screen, but it was enough to free Korver and hit the winner with 5.1 seconds left. Giricek grabbed his right side and needed help off the court. Deron Williams, who hurt the Sixers in the fourth with key baskets, was off the mark on his final attempt and the Jazz suffered their third straight road loss. Williams finished with 18 points and 16 assists, Mehmet Okur had 15 points and Boozer 14. Dalembert had 17 points and Andre Miller 16 for the Sixers, who snapped a two-game losing streak. revi
^Three straight losses, FF.. What's happening? I assumed that the Jazz would bounce back against the Sixers.. Guess, I was wrong.. Bilog ang bola!!! When Patrick Ewing, Darvin Ham and Jerome Williams were asked by Ahmad Rashad who are their picks for this year's MIP, they voted Kevin Martin.. Leandro Barbosa and Josh Howard are the other players whose names were mentioned.. I'd love to see DWill win the award but sobrang tunog ng name ni kMart.. Quote Link to comment
webslinger
jazz lost to king james and d cavs.... dis is nt a gd welcome note for boozer in cavs nest..... Quote Link to comment
clubber_lang
Jazz ain't doing themselves any good right now. Their having problems in just about every aspect of their game. Talk about getting prepared for the playoffs. I bet Sloan isn't sleeping on this one. He is studying every minute. The last week of the regular season would determine their mindset for the postseason... Quote Link to comment
MRyoso
deron willimas would win the MIP award maganda standings nila unlike the teams of kevin martin, david lee, andris bedrins (?) and monta ellis Quote Link to comment
