New York Knickerbockers

ex knick nate robinson score 14 pts in 15 minutes as celts stop pistons. looks like the celtics are getting their money's worth. re tmac ... after a few good games he's looking like a rickety kneed washup... :unsure:and we all thought that he'll be posting up all-star numbers when he got the chance to play ...

Looks like his days as top dog are over. Pero mukhang serviceable pa naman probably in a 6th man role. Given 20 mins of PYT, he can still produce about 12-15 PPG with a couple of assists, rebounds and steals. Mukhang accepted naman niya ito based on his recent statement that he's willing to take a drastic pay cut just to play pref. in NYC.

if the king chooses the NYK, maganda guard-forward combo sila. although tmac will have to play sidekick.

dapat lang talaga magkaroon sya ng pay cut na malaki. ilang taon din na kumikita sya na nakaupo lang.

and take up a precious roster slot for the knicks ? hmm that's up to d'antoni and walsh . but they don't seem to strike me as sentimental sorts who'll accommodate an aging and fading vet who's hanging on for the chance to win it all ...

that is what danny ainge did... and for a season, it did work.... but like you said, aging... so i guess you are right, the knicks might not sign tmac (unless he commits that he will just be a second stringer) since walsh and d'antoni are looking for a long term success, not just a one hit championship.

a one hit championship ? imho ... a lot of GMs would give their left nut for that one. tmac won't be the icing that wins the cake mi amigo . if he was then walsh would be all over him in a sec. naaaaah ... if at all ... he'll just be eating up precious roster and cap space.

re ainge ... he just rolled the dice and came up lucky. factoring the ages of the big three ... most experts predicted a three year window of opportunity . and ainge had the luck of the irish and won it all in year 1. twas bad luck garnett came up lame the next year . and the same spate of injuries continue top plague the celts this year as well.

one hit championships ? look at riley when he rolled the dice and won with shaq in miami . at look at kerr when he gambled ( and lost ) with shaq (AGAIN ) in phoenix. king james has been great for cleveland but they are also looking for the one player that'll take them to the next level. hey lbj ! wanna a used tmac ? :hypocritesmiley:

every team that lost in a game do have their own VALID reasons ... Ang punto, was it the winning team's fault?

Injuries are part of the game. Malas lang kung nun nagharap e injured ang player ninyo. Minsan may hirit ka pang "obviously ____ is much weaker". Kung ginagamit mo itong palusot/rason, e dapat pwede rin gamitin ng iba (halimbawa kaya natalo ang Magic sa Lakers ay dahil mas mahina sila).

both of you pressed on valid points. and the knicks shouldn't be in this sh*thole if it wasn't for isiah 'f*ckin b*stard' thomas. the last time the knicks contested the larry o'brien trophy was 11 "f*ckin" years ago (against the duncan-led spurs..dammit! timmy's been playing for ages). and my patience are waning so thinly. get a move on, knickerbockers!!!

@FF lemme rephrase that last question. this should sound better. "hey lbj! wanna wear an orange jersey just like tmac? with a multi-million dollar contract that will set you for life. wadya say?"

Good win by the Cs over the Knicks earlier. KG and Pierce are regaining their old (no better choice of word) form.

Congrats!!!

i trust walsh and d'antoni will clean thomas' garbage. knicks will be back in good form by next season.... or maybe the season after next.

WOW big deal huh??? A win over a below 500 team like the Knicks and suddenly someone shouting "THEY'RE BACK!!!" :upside:

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett played their best game together in more than a month. Coach Doc Rivers would be thrilled if they can dominate consistently once the playoffs arrive.

Pierce and Garnett have battled injuries in the second half of the season. But in the 10 games they've played together since Pierce missed three with a sore right thumb, they never combined for more than 39 points until Wednesday.

Boston's blowouts all came against struggling teams -- 122-103 over Indiana and 119-93 over Detroit before the victory over the Knicks. But those first two wins were interrupted by a 104-93 loss at Cleveland, an indication that the Celtics may be improving but aren't good enough to beat the best in the Eastern Conference.

Sabi nga ni RIVERS: "I'm starting to hope that we have more of these".

pagbigyan mo na.... teams that are "at this point of the season" not playoffs contenders, like the KNICKS, lang ang kaya ng boston.... just remember to "check your facts" and you will find that they are 2-9 againts the cavs, magic and hawks..... so dapat talaga mag-celebrate ang celtics pag nananalo sila sa mga teams like the pacers, pistons and KNICKS.

^ Wow yung 2 magsyota nandito naman kung san ako. I know you two lovers idolize me but you are getting way too obvious. Hindi pa rin nagbabago pagkabopols nyo. By the way Fagic fan, did Olajuwon really reach the finals only in his 10th season? Were the Fagic the only team that beat the Celtics in their homecourt in a 7th game?

ako, napikon mo? in your dreams.... gumagawa ng kwento at nagsisinungaling ka na nga para lang makabawi sa akin... :P

anyway, sige, go ahead... post ka na sa rockets thread (kung meron pa)... ipagbunyi mo ang pagkapanalo ng team mo sa isang non- playoff contender at this point of the season.

Ano? Non-playoff contender? Baka non-playoff team. Bopols. I think it's more of like ikaw ang gustong bumawi sa akin. Parati ka kasing pikon talo sa akin. Just like your Fagic. Zero pa din hangang ngayon. Speaking of the Rockets, nangitlog yung Fagic mo sa Rockets nung 1995 diba? Buti na lang hindi sila nangitlog last year. At least naka one win yung Fagic mo. Still on the Rockets, according to you, it was only in Olajuwon's 10th season that he entered the Finals. If stupidity were a disease, you'd be a terminal case.

On-topic: At least the Knicks gave the Rockets all they could handle before succumbing in 7 games. Your losers never had a chance.

^^ Dude, para maliwanag lang ang mga terminologies, paki-explain naman ang difference ng non-playoff contender sa non-playoff team. A couple of weeks back, you contended that, at that point of the season, the Hornets are not playoff contenders (ergo, non-playoff contender). Now, the Rockets who, at this point of the season, are in the same situation as the Hornets then (i.e. 9th place with still a mathematical chance of getting in) are not considered non-playoff contenders but a non-playoff team. What's the difference? Mabuti na yung malinaw para maganda ang usapan.

Para hindi OT (and in the spirit of March Madness) - Had Georgetown coach John Thompson not convinced Patrick Ewing to go for back-to-back NCAA titles, Ewing would have joined the 1984 draft where he would, arguably, have gone as the No. 1 pick.

@Dencio.

First of all how can you be a contender when you're not even qualified for the playoffs?

Granted, i concede your view on that. Still, you haven't answered the question - what's the difference then between a non-playoff contender from a non-playoff team??? You're the one who's claiming there's a difference.
