rdaq97
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be. If i'm not mistaken, this is etched in the statue outside United Center. Give respect to the man's legacy. He changed the game of BBall. Mike himself once said that someday, there might actually be someone who's better than him. (in an interview with Scoop in some Slam issue. nakalimutan ko na) Is it possible? pwede. But Mike was the first. He set the standards. The greatest player of all time. I like to think that there are no Jordan wanna-bes. Kobe, Lebron, DWade and all these others they label as "heir-apparents" will eventually create their own unique legacies. So, I'll still give these kids their due. There will never be another Michael Jordan. Quote Link to comment
kanto-terrorist
MJ is so good that he's bad for today's NBA. Take the case for example: Kobe. He's always measured against MJ. Despite playing almost the same style, same dunks and flash, he's beenscrutinized by the media and haters coz he's been measured up against a standard so high na bawat mali nya and his now infamous morale break-down equate this talented scorer into a loser. Pressured si Kobe na pantayan si Jordan but ultimately, he will forever fail. Lebron. first finals game. got flopped. The King turned into burger king and was handily eaten by spurs tough defense. While most columnist either criticized lbj or praise the spurs, other columnist started saying that "during MJ's first finals game, he scored this...did that...blah blah blah.."......so unfair. di na maka move-on ang mga future greats kasi porket flashy ang malulupit mag dunk, jordan-wannabe na agad ang tawag. Buti pa si duncan, tahimik lang pero rock. I wonder why no one measure him against Bill Russell or Shaq with Wilt Chamberlain. I think we have too much Jordans. this is 2007. Let's move on. Let his legendary jersey hang inthe United Center rafters or his flashymoves in the nba video archives. I just find it unfair for the present stars being branded as a failure because they come up short on being a Jordan. Quote Link to comment
13Nails
MICHAEL JORDAN is the best... all who love basketball,we all in some sort of way want to be "like MIKE"... thats his legacy. :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
rdaq97
Mike is so good, his jersey was retired by a team he never even played for. (read: Miami Heat) If your opponents can respect you that much, you have to be pretty damned good to do that. Quote Link to comment
rickyricardo
any contender for the title of "The Greatest Ever" should first win an Olympic gold. Michael Jordan has two, 1984 as an amateur and 1992 on The First DREAM TEAM. Both Dwayne Wade & LeBron James still has to win one. How can one be called "great" when you can't even beat a lowly-paid European or South American team? Quote Link to comment

You should back read up to the first page of this thread to get a feel of how some people have really hated Jordan.. You might just be surprised as to how some people are blind haters.. They seem not to understand what he has given the sport of basketball.. Globalization.. Quote Link to comment

tabouki
...at si mj hindi hinog sa pilit. dumaan siya sa panahon nila dr.j bird magic at sa pistons bago nakapag-champion ang bulls. remember, the bulls lost for 3straight years to the pistons (EC finals) cause the pistons concentrated their defense on him. on the 4th year, the bulls won when mj started passing to his teammates. remember game winners by john paxon and steve kerr? mj didnt mind not being the hero. bottomline, the bulls won. from wikipedia : introductory line of Jordan's nba.com/history biography "There's Michael Jordan and then there is the rest of us."—Magic Johnson After Jordan scored a playoff record 63 points against the Boston Celtics in 1986, Celtics star Larry Bird described him as "God disguised as Michael Jordan." Bolj
nobody can guard mike-bruce bowen?(i remember the raptors game MJ toyed bowen)..in his prime period., go to the most untapped part of the land and ask some kid do you know MJ ...YESS (tounge-out) "this is his signature move"... even Magic fell on his knees for him, Bird called him God playing basketball (uber), etc... it is not even a debate...nuff said he is the greatest and forever will be Quote Link to comment
jopit
jordan is just an ordinary player...medyo over hyped lang talaga ang media at masyadong pinapopogi si MJ..kahit sinong player kung lahat ba naman ng endorsement ibibigay sa iyo, aba eh mapipilitan kang gumaling! marami sa PBA kung mabigyan lang ng break baka superstar pa ito sa NBA Quote Link to comment
