Philippine/filipino References In A Foreign Movie

Recommended Posts

This isn't from a movie, and I am not sure if this was already shared here, pero in an episode of CSI (Las Vegas), two investigators went to the crime scene and one of them was intrigued with something, the other told it was Balot, a food from the Philippines.

Saw this one. If i am not mistaken it was Warrick and another CSI

In one of the latest episode of The Unit - the team went to Manila to intercept a terrorist. I forgot what episode.

The Shield - several reference to a filipino wife, specially the former partner of Vic Mackey. If im not mistaken si Billy Dee Williams who work as a PI.

The Unit

Season 4 Episode 20

The only female member of the unit seduces a chinese reporter in Manila

In another earlier episode

The unit have to intercept an member of Al Queda in Manila. may shoot out pa sa loob nang warehouse.

The Leverage

Forgot the episode: the illegal shipment passed through Manila. The container van contains money for for Iraq's rehabilitation and stolen by an independent contractor with the help of a congressman. It was the congressman that facilitated (called Manila) the release of the container van.

Its the unit where the a GI was shot by the independent contractors because he witnessed the transfer to the container van.

ito bago- i mean it hasn't been written here (i think):

in the 80's tv medical series st. elsewhere, the hospital's senior physician dr. craig treated a young filipino male patient who died unexpectedly in the middle of the night last.

baffled as to the reason for the patient's death, the audience sees dr. craig determined to find the cause through out the episode.

near the end of the show, dr. craig triumphantly discloses to the dead patient's relative that the former died of pancreatitis.

but much to dr. craig's consternation, the relative told dr. craig "it's okay, we know that he died from bangungot" and left; leaving the dr. to finally blurt out "why mcarthur returned to those islands is beyond me (or something to that effect)."

sa CSI before -- they caught a supposed to be asian guy turned out to be PINOY -- forgot the exact scene pero nagtatagalog yung nahuli na guy tapos di nila maintindihan syempre, pero nag ingles din yata, nyaahhaah

also, sa movie ni JEN GARNER -- MATTHEW M. , ghosts of girlfriends past -- Michael douglas mentioned the PHILS.

I've seen this one. It was one of the episodes in which the killer was from South East Asia. The killer was from Laos employed by an American. Actually the American owns a factory and employs many workers from the ASEAN. The owner even mentions that he can speak "Tagalog".

we're lucky hindi tayo jews, sila historical and biblical mga jokes sa kanila hehe.

It is small wonder that many of Hollywood's great comic talents are Jewish.

From George Burns and Mel Brooks on to Jerry Seinfeld, Ben Stiller & Adam Sandler...it's that humorous, light-hearted outlook on life that has enabled the Jews to survive pogroms and Holocausts.
