djrs
@stormgray & Legionnaire. ganyan din ang nakikita ko at naririnig. pareho tayo ng mga sinsasabi.. at ako may HBO-PVP ako na video dito saakin ngayon. i watch it again and again and again. then ako nag score. mas biased yung score nung unang judge na 115-112 for JMM. 115-112 for MP is OK! pero mas ok ang 114-113 for MP! sa totoo lang try to watch it again. tignan nyo kung gaano ka diin ang suntok ni MP. kung gaano kalakas ang suntok ni MP. unlike yung punch ni JMM. mas busy si pacman. mas marami pinakawalan suntok. PreventerWind
whats funny about us filipinos is were TOO PROUD hahaha, may hati kb sa panalo ni pacqiao? or ung kasikatan nya? kahit manalo siya panget parin ang tingin sa pilipinas,no amount of his glory can change our countrys image to the perspective of other nations. in short parang nakikisawsaw tayo sa walang laman na baso.pacqiao WAS a good boxer...BEFORE he involved himself with politics, etc.now hes not the peoples champion except for those who still fantasize about him...he WAS the people champion...but not anymore. maybe lito atienza's champion or GMA's champion but definitely NOT this country's' looking at the scoring of every round...it was LUCK and maybe influence that won pacqiao that match... hindi na cya tulad dati...people champ amp Mexicano ka no? haha!

Tama si Legionnaire nakakahiya ung mga Pilipinong kagaya mo :thumbsdownsmiley: i must agree that it kinda surprised me a bit that yesterday's split decision went OUR way... honestly, i couldn't even remember the last time a filipino won on the score cards in a close fight like this. i am not one of the ring judges so it doesn't matter how i scored the fight... after the 12th round, like most of us here, i was just hoping that pacquiao will strap the wbc super featherweight belt around his waist. well, he did... and that just brightens up everybody's weekend, does it? jumpman611
off topic rant... i don't know what's going through the minds of people sending out text messages about the fight's outcome even before gma 7's / solar's coverage started (which spurs another lengthy topic, by the way)... i don't care if you have your pay-per-views or you have somebody from the states feeding you the details... next time, please shut the f#&k up and just keep the results to yourselves. pogingpogi2x
A win is a Win! rahlptoh
A win is a win! but then Im not convince hehhe, y?? I expect more highlights and more pacman's round than marquez! and napapanood ko un practices nya and interviews na nabibilib ako dahil anloopet ng training nya,and sabi pa ni roach my bago technique na dinidevelop si pacman. wala ako nakitang bago! and ung knock down sa 3rd round? dapat nun 4th round nasundan un sabi pa nga ng commentator sa GMAnun hindi ciado nagba bounce paa ni marquez which is a sign na hilo pa si marquez but pacman did not get that oppurtunity eh di sana 4th round palang TAPOS na laban, whose Agree with me?? but then its just a viewer comment, it my own point of view as a espectator of the GREAT PACMAN. uhm un lang hehhehe hindi ako happy hahhah.. Igniz
Dapat si Marquez ang panalo. Quote Link to comment
LYCHEE
hair-line win for pacman...some may not be convinced, but truly a classic battle in its own right. for the right price, the business may still remain "un-finished" & accept a re-match in the offing... otherwise, time for manny to go up to 136lbs and train his sights vs. diaz. either way, pacman's corner stands to win big bucks--big time. :thumbsupsmiley: Edited March 17, 2008 by LYCHEE Quote Link to comment
rub120
It was not a convincing win by MP but the fight exposed the weakness in MP's fighting style.Against technically superior fighters he would always have a hardtime beating them. He never body punched, he's always head hunting. Lucky for him, he could take the best punch JMM could dish out. The next fighter could be different. seengkeith
Marquez or Pacman could have won the fight... im happy that Manny won, but wont be bitter if Marquez did. mas nakakahiya yung niyayakap ka na ng kalaban mo after the fightand yet tatalikuran mo sya as if di mo sya nakikita. the character ofa gentleman wasn't in the JMM's persona. that i guesswhat separates a man from a gentleman. another thing, the 2point difference (10-8) for ALL the judges in the 3rd round i guessmade the difference. all the other rounds could only go to 10-9 or 9-10 scores dependingon the judges decision on who won the round. George Bush
Some are yelling bloody murder and stating that Marquez was robbed of a merited victory. Robbery is a strong term and though I feel Marquez was the victor, the fight was tightly contested with many close rounds and Pacquiao scored a knockdown in the third round to earn him a two point round. So while 115-112 proves to be a three round switch from my own card, the notion that a judge might score three rounds differently from me, or Jerry Roth, when so many were tough judgment calls, does not bring their professionalism or abilities into questions. The judges last night did what every judge has to do in the sport of boxing; score a fight on subjective criteria. When a sport's scoring is hinged on standards that have no clear cut definitions, there is little validity in regards to the outcome of contests. Mr. Miller and Mr. Ford, while scoring the fight differently from myself, did an excellent job last night. Bottom line, last night was a great night for boxing. If Marquez's advocates want to claim it was a robbery, they are cheapening his performance, as well as that of Pacquiao's. Both men walked away from the fight with their in the ring persona untainted; Manny's just happens to get the official “W” on his record. Quote Link to comment
