  1. I just wanted to share my recent experience with PLDT. My bill was due last week but I was out of the country and was unable to pay it. I got to pay the bill last Monday. Then came Tuesday, I was unable to use my DSL service and instead of being able to browse the net, I received a message from PLDT saying that I had to settle 2.7k (which was twice the amount on my bill) so that I could receive my services again.

I called up 171 and spoke with a rep named Renz. I explained the situation to him and even gave the details of my payment made at a Bayad Center. He explained that it normailly takes 2-3 business days for payments made at Bayad Centers to post and that service will automatically be restored once the payment is posted. I found it unacceptable and asked him to have my service restored. He said he couldn't. I asked to be escalated to his manager. He put me on hold and then the line got cut. I dialled 171 again. After a long time waiting, I finally spoke with another rep, Reg naman ang name. Aside from my main concern, I also complained about the cut call that I got from the previous rep. While I was still speaking, the line again got cut. This infuriated me further.

I visited the nearest PLDT business office and detailed my concern. My point was, the payment has been made, I already presented the proof of payment, why are they still waiting for the amount to be posted? Don't they trust that the Bayad centers would be able to remit the payment? Don't they trust their system? Still, the people I spoke to would not commit to restoring my service. They were adamant that payment had to be posted first and that's the time my service will be restored. No consideration for a long-time customer, no consideration for an account that is not delinquent. I guess PLDT needs to get their money first before providing service to their customers.

  2. im not saying that they should headline the event. i'm a fan of of megadeth and slayer too. but i doubt that they would want to come here and play here.

Why wouldn't they play here? We are seeing more and more major metal bands (Arch Enemy, Testament) play in our shores. Why do you think Slayer and Megadeth would not perform here if given an offer?

And suppose they choose not to play here, there are a whole lot of other bands that should be offered to play here than mutherf#&ken' Parkway Drive.

Fan kuno! Ulol! Sino niloko mo? Go back to listening to your downloaded mp3s of Parkway Drive, POSER!

  3. I'm going to Singapore in February to attend an event and will be staying there for three days and two nights. How much pocket money do you think I should be bringing? I'm not really looking forward to shopping that much. Most likely pasalubong lang bibilhin ko. I'm more curious how much I should budget for meals, entrance fees to tourist spots and public transportation. Do you think a budget of $100 USD per day (or $300 USD for my entire stay) will be enough? I will be travelling with two other companions.

  4. I would like to respectfully disagree. :P While there was a lot of awesome stuff in the 90's (Rust In Peace, Seasons in the Abyss, Vulgar Display of Power albums etc) The 80's was where it was at. It was the advent of a lot of awesome thrash bands and even death metal was born with Death's debut 'Scream Bloody Gore' (RIP Chuck Schuldiner).

if they wanted to save, the least they could do is offer

the customer if they would like their complimentary bottled water.

May complimentary bottled water ba sa lahat ng branch? I went to Eurotel Cubao recently and did not get one nor ask for one (I didn't know e). I even bought two bottled waters during my stay.

  6. Sir, I hope you can answer my question. I work in a call center as one of the operation managers. Our account was migrated to another site and only the agents were transferred. Us managers were not transferred since there were already existing managers in that site.

My dillema is that the company has no department or account to transfer us to. They are having us apply in some of the internal openings the company has. However, if we don't get accepted in those departments, we will have to consume our leaves. When we consume all our leaves, the company will put us in Temporary Lay Off (TLO) status and we will get no salary.

Based from what my manager told me, the company can have an employee stay on TLO status for a period of 6 months, and only after which if they don't find a placement for me, that's the time they are obliged to pay severance to an employee.

Does the law allow this? I have a lawyer friend who said that this is not legal and companies get away with such acts since employees hardly contest it. He says that the company should either place the employee or pay severance without having to wait 6 months.

So is it legal for a company to put an employee on TLO for 6 months not paying an employee salary or is my lawyer friend correct in saying it's not legal?

  7. Guys paano ba pumunta dito if I'm coming from the Ortigas area. I actually work near the place but don't know how to get there exactly. Dun kasi sya sa kabilang kanto, parallel to Shaw Blvd. If I take Edsa, may kanto ba along Edsa papasok sa street kung saan ang Bermuda?

  8. help!! anyone?

how do i get to Miriam College, Katipunan, QC from Espana?

Benny Greb's gonna be having a Drum Clinic there tomorrow and i dont have a clue where that place is..

down ang Philmusic.com at the moment... heeeeeelp....

You can ride a jeepney from España going to Cubao. Once you're in Cubao, you can go down before reaching EDSA along Aurora Blvd (Mercury Drug is a landmark). From there, you can ride another jeepney this time going eastward (Cogeo, Antipolo, Montalban, Parang, Calumpang)and then tell the driver you're going down in Katipunan. When you go down in katipunan, take the pedestrian overpass and you can either ride a jeep or tricycle going to Miriam College. It's just along Katipunan avenue on your right side. You can't miss it.

  9. I have an MSI GX620 laptop. It works great, no complaints for me so far. However just earlier today, may nabali na plastic part dun sa portion na nag-fofold. May crack na ngayon yung left edge ng screen/monitor (not the screen itself). I'm just wondering kung naaayos pa ito and if ever, saan puede ipa-ayos. Ngayon kasi pag finold mo yung screen, parang mas lalong lumaki yung crack and masira pa lalo.

  11. I was watching MTV the other day and an announcement flashed on the screen saying that it would cease airing effective February 16. Anyone have an idea why this is so? I;m on Sky Cable btw.

  12. For the past three months, I rode the MRT and LRT2 on my way home from work. Despite working graveyard shifts and going home in the morning, I still endured the packed train coaches whenever I rode the MRT. I would say that the LRT-2 line is much better compared to the MRT. Aside from the wider trains, the stations are cleaner and they have vending machines where you can buy the cards. Compare that to the MRT where the trains are narrower leading to more jampacked coaches plus you can only buy the cards from the teller windows and this naturally leads to a long queue of people. Thankfully, my car has been fixed and I'm back using it again which means I no longer have to ride the MRT and LRT on a daily basis.
