  1. GINS WIN!!!! GINEBRA, GINEBRA, GINEBRA......with that magical shot by Tubid that opened the gates for points to pour in kaya lang nakahabol pa rin Purefoods, then pressing defense did it. Tubid game MVP. Sunday Salvacion was in his vicious self, rebounding and making kamikaze drives during the first half. Kaya pala wala siya nuong first game nila, nag serve ng suspension na pinataw sa kanya during the championship round last conference.

Dapat talaga BAN FOR LIFE! And tama yung isang nag comment dito. COMMISSIONER BARRIOS.......BAN ARBOLEDA FOR LIFE!

  3. Naasar na naman si Ildefolso. Bakit kaya nagkaganon yung taong ito? Di naman dati ganun. Well, congrats sa atin BUT sa tingin ko lang medyo out of synch ang katawan ni Denok and Hontiveros. A win is a win but wag lang mag bababa ng guard. Malakas talaga ang lineup ng SMB. Nakakatakot kapag nag blend silang lahat. Good game and MVP of the Game si Mark, kababalik lang, nakakuha kaagad ng award! Hopefully no injuries throughout the season. Si Villanueva? Di gaano kasing effective as compared to other Gins na maganda ang laro. Two steps up pa, Enrico!

Distrito’s son and namesake also in trouble

OVER TWO months ago, police officers, responding to an emergency call, rushed to the Baja Sharkeez, a bar in the Pier Plaza of Hermosa Beach in California.

The officers found just outside the bar a young man bleeding profusely. He had been stabbed several times on the chest and other parts of his body.

A bloodied knife was on the ground, obviously dropped by the perpetrator who had fled on foot just before the officers arrived on the scene.

The victim, identified as a resident of Torrance, was brought to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, he survived.

    * * *

According to witnesses, the victim had gotten into an argument with a woman inside the bar who sought the help of a male friend to settle the matter.

Because the squabbling parties were causing too much disturbance, they were kicked out of the establishment.

Outside, however, the squabbling continued and later escalated into a fight between the victim and the woman’s friend, who allegedly pulled out a knife and repeatedly stabbed his adversary.

One version of the report said the woman fled with the perpetrator. People at the bar later identified her and she was traced by the police.

However, she was very uncooperative and refused to give any information regarding her friend who could not be located or identified initially. He was described as Filipino, about 5-foot-10 tall and in his early 20s.

    * * *

It took more than a week before detectives could find out the full name of the suspect, but the information ended there. His name did not show up in any computer base.

They found stories about a man with the same name, though, after some Google research. However, the man was old enough to be the suspect’s father. And he was in jail after being convicted of manslaughter in a stabbing case.

His name was Rudy Distrito. Detectives found out he had a son named Rudy Jr., aged 23.

The news stories mentioned the wife of Rudy Sr. who was traced in an apartment in Wilmington, California.

Rudy Jr. was soon arrested, but is currently out on bail. He is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Newspaper accounts did not give out the name of the victim or Rudy Jr.’s woman friend “for their protection.”

  5. No. He does not answer my prayers and I know He is soooo busy sa dami nang humihiling sa kanya. I have been praying for this big problem pero, so far, tahimik. There are times and at this very hour, na feel ko galit Siya sa akin. I am entitled to feel the gift of life rin di ba? Pero ayoko naman ng ganung kasamang gawain. Am still in continous prayer but parang wala na. Mahal ko pa rin Siya, though

  6. there is another typhoon in the early 1970s that hit Manila...it was likened to the bible quote 'it rain 40 days and 40 nights'....I remember it rained for several days non-stop, can't remember the name of that typhoon maybe it was Yoling also...

GLoring.........it rained almost a month and it stopped when it was rumored that the former first lady Imelda sinoli yung pinakuha niyang Sto.Nino statue. Dont remember kung saan kinuha at saan nilagay. My mom went to Pampanga nuong panahon na yun, nagbangka sila sa ngayong "long viaduct" between bulacan and pampanga. Katakot na nun kasi sa history hindi kami inaabot ng baha sa upper Dapitan (Musta street to be exact). Before the rains stopped, kitang kita na namin na papalapit na ang baha sa kanto namin. The no. 1 song nuon month ng September ay yung kay Michael Jackson "Got to Be There" :D

  7. Willy Revillame - self confessed matulungin daw sa mahihirap

Korina Sanchez - wala ba talagang anak ito?

Ces Drilon n Cory Quirino - up to now denied to death na nalawayan sila ng kanilang kidnappers

Kris Aquino - she owns the term 'irritating' (must have been invented for her)

Do you have any evidence na nalawayan nga sila ng kanilang kidnappers?

Pero, tama ka, the rains reminded me of Yoling din. Kakatakot nuon and more than a week kaming walang kuryente sa Dapitan

  9. sa channel 5 = yung OGAGS, LOKO MO KO, Everybody HAPI, Juicy

sa channel 2 = of course WOWOWEE, PBB, itong PBB na ito walang katuturan sa buhay natin, actually talent search ito eh, hindi naman "reality show"

too many soap operas biro mo before TV patrol meron ng soap after TV patrol meron pa rin. endless ito then to cap off siyempre nandiyan ang SNN

sharon = i dont understand anong klaseng format ito

    sa channel 7 = Survivor, ( See PBB )

may isang showbiz talk show sa UnTV

hosted by a barrage of Gays. ( Read: isang drag queen and yung isa may bigote pa, bading naman )

After that.....telenovelas, artistas (SNN), telenovelas. news na may artistas news pa rin. What the F__K!

  10. this is true.

i think the show should fold up. masyado na matagal and it has lost its spark...kung meron man.

I agree! Also, super plastic that she likes her guests, meron pang mahabang bigkas sa last sentence nya..e.g. M.T.Ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc!!!. Tawa pa ng tawa na parang lukaret. Channel 2 should scrap the show.

O eto. Ginebra in short shorts.

Dont know if this record still stands sa locals ng Ginebra (sing game points made)

    1. Rudy Distrito - 55 pts. (1991)

    2. Pido Jarencio - 44 pts. (1992)

    3. Mark Caguioa - 40 pts. (2005)

  12. mga bro, saan makakakuha ng lineup ng ginebra from 1988-1995? or even just for 1990?

    hope this helps, bro.........

Ginebra has a storied history in the annals of the PBA. As the Kings continue to stamp its class this season with 4 consecutive victories with the return of slotman Eric Menk, it's noteworthy to reminisce for Ginebra fans the various teams that made up the franchise in their 26 years of existence in the PBA. I can name 7 versions:

    1. Pre-Jaworski era (1979-1983)

Players included the likes of Armando Torres, Willie Tanduyan, Ernie De Leon, Gary Vargas, Alex Clariño, marginal talents but with an innovative coach in Arturo Valenzona. They also paraded some of the highest scoring imports in the history of the PBA - Larry McNeil, Dean Tolson, Jacky Dorsey, Anthony Roberts and Lawrence Massey.

    2. Ginebra (1984-1988)

The original blue collar team of the PBA - no namers but they did their jobs well simply because they played the rough and tumble game of basketball without so much finesse but oozing with brute power. Led by their mercurial coach Robert Jaworski, players who donned the Ginebra jersey in this era include Terry Saldaña, Dondon Ampalayo, Chito and Joey Loyzaga, Dante Gonzalgo, Leo Isaac, Dennis Carbonilla, Cayetano Salazar, Romy Mamaril, Ed Ducut and Rolly Buhay. Imports were class acts themselves, led by the best ever, Billy Ray Bates, Michael Hackett, Jamie Waller, Terry Duerod, Clinton Wheeler, Tommy Davis and Joe Ward.

    3. Ginebra (1989-1991)

Although not as blue collar as the first one, this was the team that was noted for their physical (bordering on rough) defense, typical of any Jaworski team. A good mix of veteran players and journeymen played during this era for the Gins. They include Philip Cezar, Rudy Distrito, Freddie Hubalde, Rey Cuenco, Gonzalgo, the elder Loyzaga, Peter Aguilar (now better known as the father of Ateneo's Japeth), Harmon and Pat Codiñera, Isaac, among others. Imports like Carlos (Red) Briggs, Jervis Cole, and Sylvester Gray reinforced a perennially competitive Ginebra team back then.

    4. Ginebra (1992-1995)

The doldrum years of the Gins - when their best showing at this point was a solitary semifinal appearance in the 1993 season featuring a taller import in Danny Jones (the rest of the teams except for Pepsi Mega were reinforced by smaller imports). Guys who played for Ginebra include Pido Jarencio, Larry Villanil, Jayvee Gayoso, Noli Locsin, Bennett Palad, Nonoy Chuatico, EJ Feihl, Dodot Jaworski, Sonny Cabatu, Manny Victorino and the like. Talk about low budget, let's not talk about their equally forgettable imports that time (with the slight exception of Jones, Steve Hood and a comebacking Jamie Waller)...

    5. Ginebra (1996-1998)

The redemption years. Ginebra finally found the magic that they needed when Jaworski learned to tinker with his lineup and decided to put premium to youth and athleticism more than veteran smarts. This team formed a nucleus when they were able to secure Marlou Aquino as the #1 pick of the 1996 draft and signing up free agent point guard Bal David. A trade for Vince Hizon with Purefoods vice Chuatico the previous year gave them a reliable shooter from the outside, a Jaworski offensive staple. Other players include Benny Cheng, Gayoso, Locsin, Jarencio, Bong Alvarez (secured from a trade with San Miguel for the draft rights to Fil-Am Steven Smith), Terry Saldaña and Cris Bolado. Imports who played include Chris King, Fred Cofield, Reggie Fox, Leon Trimmingham and Derek Rucker.

    6. Post-Jaworski Ginebra (1999-2002)

Practically a new team altogether and veering away from the Jaworski formula, this Ginebra team combined the run and gun style of play with a systematic direction owing to their consultant Ron Jacobs' preference for a more controlled offensive style. Aquino was shipped to Sta. Lucia for a Jacobs' favorite, Jun Limpot, Noli Locsin was dealt to Pop Cola for the swashbuckling Vergel Meneses, and Mark Caguioa was silently included in the 2002 draft by Jacobs so that they would get a shot in getting him first (he eventually became the 4th overall pick). Other players include Ronald Magtulis, Boy Valera, David and Alex Crisano. Imports weren't as impressive as before but they had reliable workhorses in the likes of Ryan Fletcher, Sean Green and the like.

    7. The Eric Menk era (2003-present)

Perhaps the most talent-laden Ginebra team ever, no question about it, this team will remain to be a contender for the championship in the coming years. They not only have the best PBA player at present in Eric Menk, they also have arguably the best point guard in JJ Helterbrand, the best sixth man in Rodney Santos and the most exciting slasher in Mark Caguioa. They also have the bullstrong Romel Adducul to back up Menk in the slot, the only entity missing in this present Kings lineup is a forward in the mold of a Danny Seigle, Nic Belasco or Anthony Washington.

So which team do you like the most? I'm a sucker for blue collar workers who stretch themselves to the limit so I have to go with the 1986-1988 version. The same year I decided to shift my loyalty to the Gins after a 9-year allegiance with the Crispa Redmanizers and a year and a half of shifting loyalties from Shell and Manila Beer...

  13. for sure he will be retained!..

Expiring na pala contract niya. Sana naman wag magbago. The case of Marlou Aquino always comes to my mind, kapag expiring na contract, parang tigre at nakikipag away pa pero after singing, parang bagong gising parati at wala sa utak ang laro (takot ma injure)

  14. mahirap ang martial law nung first three to four years,

that 3 to 4 years span, tumatambay na lang muna sa

METROCOM ata yung nanghuhuli nuon. The dreaded METROCOM. Sino ba head nila? Yung torturer daw? Abadilla?

  15. from the looks of it. matigas ang ulo ni manny pacquiao. sasabak pa rin sya sa pulitika. there's only one way to stop him. the people of sarangani SHOULD NOT VOTE FOR MANNY PACQUIAO para matalo sya. kung matalo sya, mapapaisip syang mag boxing ulit para mabawi ang inilabas nyang pera sa pag kampanya. ang thinking kasi ni manny, since masyado na syang sikat at marami na syang natulungan at nabigyan sa gensan at sarangani, akala nya shoo in na syang manananalo. sana manalo ang kalaban nya para mauntog si manny na hindi sya talaga para sa pulitika.

Tama ka. The political kingpin of the province should be on a watchout of any GMA Administration sawsaw sa elections sa Saranggani.
