:zorro:

  2. If that so, kung hindi matutuloy vs. Gayweather. Pacman should face Foreman, yung isang light middleweight champion. Kayang kaya ni Pacman yun at pang 8th world title na niya. Kaya ba ni Floyd yun? (yung 8 world titles?)

  4. Brings me to a question.........sa pagkaganda gandang laro ni Topex, why is it that no team wants to get his services? May attitude problem kaya? Puwedeng puwede siya sa Ginebra (as of now kasi depleted ang guard position nila) but the thing is, medyo, nagtataka talaga ako hindi siya kinukuha ng ibang teams.

  5. hahaha!!! Natakot na si Gayweather!!!

    Mayweather needs tuneup bout

By Abac Cordero (The Philippine Star) Updated November 30, 2009 12:00 AM

    Photo is loading...

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.

MANILA, Philippines - One indication that the Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight won’t happen soon is the latest report that the undefeated ex-pound-for-pound champion from the United States is seriously looking at a fight in England early next year.

Only after that fight in England, against anybody out there, possibly Ricky Hatton’s brother, Matthew, will Mayweather seriously think of climbing the ring against Pacquiao, a fighter who defeated everybody thrown at him over the last four years.

It was reported by The Examiner a few days ago that Mayweather is soon headed for Europe for his next fight. The decision, it was written, was made after Pacquiao destroyed the bigger, younger and supposedly stronger Miguel Cotto last Nov. 14.

Mayweather must have felt the power of Pacquiao as he watched Cotto endure 12 rounds of hell before the referee stepped in to halt the fight in the 55-second mark of the 12th round at the MGM Grand and 1.25 million pay-per-view homes worldwide.

Mayweather came out of a 21-month retirement to beat Juan Manuel Marquez last September, but must have thought he needed another tuneup match even before he could see himself up in the ring against the express named Pacquiao.

“I think it’s a situation where Floyd isn’t worried too much about anything. He knows eventually that he is going to have to step up to the plate and make things happen,” Mayweather’s uncle, Jeff, was quoted as saying,

“For the most part he has the intention of having a fight in England. I think he is focusing on that more than Manny Pacquiao. I think he is going to try to make that happen then move on to the Manny Pacquiao fight.

“I’m not sure who he is fighting but I know that Roger (Mayweather) is training him now,” he said.

Pacquiao wants the fight with Mayweather next year but his chief trainer, Freddie Roach, said it won’t take place in March which may be too soon to hold the biggest fight in recent history

. He said they would need more time to prepare for Mayweather.

Another date being considered for Pacquiao’s next fight, and it could be good enough for a Mayweather fight, is May 1. But Pacquiao’s political agenda stands on the way as he plans to run for Congress in the May 10 national elections in the Philippines.

If Pacquiao drops his bid for Congress, then May 1 should be a good day to fight Mayweather, and it could take place in Las Vegas, Dallas, New Orleans or Vancouver but not in New York because of high tax rates.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao has been nominated as the US Sports Academy’s Athlete of the Year for 2009.

The selection ends on Dec. 24 and the winner will be announced soon.

  6. Ginebra now is depleted sa guard position. Celino Cruz is now suffering from fractured wrist nakuha niya kalabang TNT. Well, better luck next conference na. Yes, mag retire na ata si Mark. Tuhod yun mga amigo. Sayang.

  8. i watched the vid over and over..walang soild proof na si krista ranillo nga yung nakasakay.

i also believe gimik lang to hype up their movie..otherwise pupunta pa ba si jinkee sa US para dun mag iiyak? hehe

Its all SHOWBIZNEZZ, mga utols.

  9. O paano na itong before the fight interview kay DeLa Hoya?

I’m now convinced Cotto will win. The reason is, first, nobody looks good against Clottey. He’s a difficult, strong, in-your-face type of fighter. And Cotto had that gash over his eye the whole fight. I thought he did an excellent job in light of that.

Cotto has a good chin and a big heart. He’s a natural welterweight who hits hard and is also smart and fast. Pacquiao doesn’t hit hard enough to knock anyone out in the welterweight division. I’m basing that on my fight against Pacquiao. I could’ve stood there and put my face in front of him and he couldn’t have hurt me.

I think Pacquiao will come out strong and try to surprise Cotto. If that doesn’t work, I believe (trainer) Freddie Roach will tell Pacquiao to wait for Cotto to come in and then counter, to stay on his toes. I believe that’s the reason (promoter) Bob Arum arranged to have a big ring, to give Pacquiao an advantage. Arum promotes both fighters but, obviously, it benefits him more if Pacquiao wins so they’re going to favor him.

I think Cotto is a smart fighter. I think he’ll get through those first few rounds and in a smart way he’ll walk down Pacquaio and possibly stop him in the later rounds.

I know that would surprise a lot of people. A lot of people are counting him out after his last performance. I think he’s the real deal, though. I’ve seen his skills and I’ve seen his power. He’s proved himself against tough, rugged guys. He’s proved himself against slick boxers.

Cotto is one of those fighters who can surprise anyone.

  10. MANNY PACMAN......GISING......GISING!

Read on.............

    11/15/2009

LAS VEGAS — Manny Pacquiao has made no secret of his political ambitions outside the ring but dabbling in government isn’t the same as taking it on as a full-time career, says trainer Freddie Roach.

Roach said Pacquiao my run for office in his native Philippines, but after the fighter gets a taste of political life Roach expects him to eventually return to his boxing roots.

“I would love to see him go out on top,” Roach said. “The thing is he can fight for a long time, because his work ethic is so great.

“Once he gets into politics and finds out how corrupt it is he will come back to boxing. He can do more as a boxer than a politician for his countrymen.

  11. Speaking of the fight against mayweather...........remind you all, it will be very very close to election time and Pacman might be distracted na by that time sa campaigning. Damn these politicians around him. Nagpapauto pa kasi si Pacman, eh! So from hatton to today........7 months......from today up to election time....less than 6 months. Paano kaya yun? Maglalabanan sila within 4 months para less distaction?

  12. Cotto takes a backseat to Manny mania, but has shot at Pacquiao in the ring

By Tim Dahlberg (CP) – 3 hours ago

LAS VEGAS — Miguel Cotto didn't need to be reminded what his role is supposed to be against Manny Pacquiao.

Not after signing for half the money Pacquiao is getting paid. Not after having to agree to fight nearly a kilo (2 pounds) under his normal weight just to get the fight. Not after spending months training for a fight a lot of people in boxing don't really believe he has much chance of winning.

Promoter Bob Arum took time at the final pre-fight press conference to remind him anyway.

"Psychologically he knows it and I know it," Arum said. "In this fight he is not the star of the show."

No, the star of the show is boxing's latest sensation, a mild mannered Filipino who gave Oscar De La Hoya such a beating he quit on the stool and destroyed Ricky Hatton with a single punch. Pacquiao is the face of this event, the boxer who brings the Philippines to a virtual standstill every time he steps into the ring.

But Cotto has a country behind him, too. Puerto Rico has long been a breeding ground of top fighters, and this fight is probably the most anticipated in his country since Felix Trinidad won a disputed decision over De La Hoya a decade ago.

Almost lost in the Manny mania that has made this perhaps the most anticipated fight of the year is that Cotto has some serious credentials of his own.

"I don't want to be Manny Pacquiao," Cotto said. "I just want to be Miguel Cotto."

For a long time that was good enough. Cotto was a rising star himself, a relentless puncher who won two titles, knocked almost everyone in front of him out, and had no trouble selling out Madison Square Garden.

But along came Antonio Margarito and Cotto found himself on the receiving end of the kind of beating he usually handed out. He fought valiantly before finally being stopped in the 11th round of a brutal slugfest, a devastating loss tempered later only by the suspicion that Margarito had plaster inside his gloves like he did in his next fight against Shane Mosley.

"When things about Margarito came out after the fight it made me feel better about the situation," Cotto said.

He came back to win a tuneup fight, then had to rally to beat Joshua Clottey by split decision in the Garden in June. Pacquiao was there at ringside to watch a bloodied Cotto barely pull off a win to retain his piece of the welterweight title, and it wasn't long before negotiations for their fight began.

Though Pacquiao is careful not to say so, his trainer, Freddie Roach, believes Cotto is not the fighter he once was.

"I've studied the tapes of Cotto before and after the Margarito fight and he's not the same person," Roach said. "It's a good time to fight Miguel Cotto."

Oddsmakers think so, too, making Pacquiao a 2½-1 favourite in a fight that will be held at a catch weight of 66 kilograms (145 pounds), something Cotto had to agree to if he was going to get the fight. Pacquiao wanted the weight concession because he is the smaller fighter, having made his way up from 48 kilos (105 pounds), and fought Hatton at 63½ kilos (140 pounds).

Cotto insists he has put the Margarito fight behind him and is even better than he was before, but there are not only questions about his confidence, but his conditioning. He parted ways with his longtime trainer this year and has been using 32-year-old Joe Santiago, who has no experience in big fights, for the biggest fight of his career.

Pacquiao, whose marathon sparring sessions are legendary, believes that his preparation and his corner will both be factors.

"It's a big help to have a great trainer in your corner," he said.

There aren't as many questions about Pacquiao on the eve of the fight, though there are those in boxing who say he may be getting too much credit for his last two fights because De La Hoya was clearly past his prime and Hatton may have never been ready for prime time.

But the body of his work - six titles in six weight classes over the years - and the fact that Roach has managed to turn his right hand into as big a factor as his left hook make Pacquiao dangerous to anyone in front of him. He not only seems to have carried his speed with him as he moved up in weight, but the punch is there too, as evidenced by the tremendous left hook that floored Hatton in the second round of his last fight.

"We believe we have the advantage in both speed and power," Pacquiao said. "My speed is still there and if you have speed you can create power."

Cotto has power of his own - 27 knockouts in 36 fights attests to that - and neither fighter thinks much about defence. The promise of a lot of action led to a quick sellout in the arena and promoters believe they will do strong business on pay-per-view.

The promise of at least $6.5 million helped sell Cotto on the fight. But the promise of greatness should he win means even more.

Because he knows that a win against Pacquiao might just make him boxing's next big star.

  13. proposed law .... drunk driving is a crime ... ang dami accident sa kalsada concerning drunk driver :goatee: :headsetsmiley:

Di na dapat i propose. meron nang law sa mga ganito, thing is, hindi pinatutupad. Kapag may bumulagta na, dun pa lang a aksion.

I PROPOSE A LAW THAT WILL IMPLEMENT ALL LAWS. :thumbsupsmiley:

  14. maybe this "traffic" is already a way of life among LP residents that's why it's acceptable/bearable already (as if residents have a choice). we also have a property in LP and our tenant really hates the traffic. because of this, he won't renew his contract when it expires next year. that's why when i go there, i sked it on a sunday morning before SM opens to escape the traffic.

actually, Las Pinas is known for its horrible traffic situation (i think it's worse than cainta) and multitude of spurious land titles (ALI had problems launching its Ayala Las Pinas before now known as Ayala Southvale bec. of so many claims in the mother title. that's why the much awaited Ayala Las Pinas became Ayala Southvale because property is already located in Bacoor, Cavite and not in Las Pinas because of legality problems).

paging Manny Villar - if you become president, i hope you can improve the traffic situation and do something about the fake titles in LP. i don't know how you can solve traffic along alabang zapote road unless the govt will expropriate a number of properties along the stretch. at the mayor's level, i don't think he has the power to solve these problems.
