  1. I always believe that Ainge was on panic mode when he signed both Lee and Terry last summer due to the "unexpected" departure of Ray Allen. Now he is trying to get rid either one of them to the Clips via the propose trade that will involve KG.

Well I am not surprise that the C's want Jordan, Bledsoe and a couple of picks for KG and Coach Rivers. Obviously, they just want to maximize what they can get for their "prize assets"

I just wonder if Ainge thinks that the Clips are "desperate" to hire Rivers as their coach and to get KG for some quick fix at the slot.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/59783/latest-on-what-lakers-will-do-with-dwight?src=mobile

When word began to circulate Saturday that the Clippers have weighed offering Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe to their Staples Center co-tenants for Dwight Howard in a potential sign-and-trade swap after July 1, that naturally made folks wonder where the Lakers stand in their quest to re-sign Howard when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

    Here's the latest:

    • The Lakers have had several discussions with Howard's representatives over the past few weeks and remain confident that they will ultimately keep him with the franchise, even as he's made it clear he will entertain other suitors.

    • Yet the Lakers also, according to sources, have not completely ruled out the idea of a sign-and-trade if they come to find next month that Howard is determined to leave. Sources say they are indeed leaning against sign-and-trade scenarios because they'd rather bank the resultant cap space from Howard's departure for the summer of 2014. But sources say they've adopted a keep-all-options-open approach. So they'll at least listen to just about anything.

    • One source with knowledge of the Lakers' thinking said Saturday that any suggestion they could not philosophically allow themselves to make a major trade with the Clippers was "overblown." If the Clippers do indeed decide to formally offer Griffin and Bledsoe in a sign-and-trade package for Howard, indications are that it's a proposal the Lakers will certainly not dismiss outright.

    • The threat of the James Harden-led Rockets signing Howard away from L.A. is very real to the Lakers, sources said, which means the Lakers will eventually be getting a sign-and-trade pitch from Houston as well. The Rockets will have the cap space to sign Howard outright after the expected shedding of Thomas Robinson's contract, but sources say that the Rockets will certainly attempt to convince the Lakers to take in return Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin in a sign-and-trade deal for Howard, thus theoretically keeping alive the possibility that Houston could preserve its cap space to pursue Chris Paul and possibly pair Howard with Paul.

    • Asik is a quality defensive anchor at roughly half Howard's price. And Lin had the greatest success of his career under Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni. But sources maintain that the Lakers' main priority this offseason -- besides re-signing Howard -- is getting their financial house in order. Which is why the overriding expectation persists that L.A. will rebuff sign-and-trade proposals to simply bank the cap space for the summer of 2014 if Howard bolts.

    • Should Howard decide to leave the Lakers, sources said, several options have been discussed internally in Lakerland. Among them: The Lakers could simply let him walk, go into the season with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash as their centerpieces -- as they had planned in July 2012 before the trade for Howard materialized -- and focus on slicing into their luxury-tax bill.

  4. Kyogi san, if having "ego" is an issue with JWash, i think same with Japeth. At least si Jwash nakapagpakita na.

Tingin ko masyadong bilib sa sarili itong batang ito based on his past issues.

He got his opportunity to shine with a team like global but it seems they also gave up on him. First lumiit yun playing time then ngayon naitrade.

Oh well i hope hindi umiral yun feeling magaling ni Japeth. I hope he can accept his role and contribute. Un pagiging star that will come naturally kapag may ibubuga talaga.

If he could only play and contribute to this team like his father did way back then, am sure malaki ang maitutulong ni Japeth sa GSM

  5. Overall the smc group paid a stiff price to acquire aguilar ...

That's taha and jwash plus a first rounder and 2 second round picks for japeth and jason.

I dont think japeth fits the center position. He plays the 4 just like jwash. Anu kaya si jwash na lang ang napunta sa ginebra?

agree.... pero espiritu i think is really good.. sayang... i never believe that taha will be good 1 two years down the line... and you trade nya to ginebra for mike cortez before is not the best for the team... anyway sana madisiplina si aguilar

In the uaap espiritu plays the 4 i think and he's too small to play that position in the pba. He's proven he can play 3 a position the gin kings are "loaded" with baracael, ellis and dylan. While as you say he is good i think the names mentioned are better than him so he's the odd man out.

I agree the trade of taha for cortez is unfavorable to gsm. A draft pick would haveeven things out. Well look at it this way cortez and espiritu for japeth ang nangyari. Mas ok na siguro kaysa si raymundo for japeth

  7. approved na. Elmer Espiritu to Barako for a future 1st rd pick. Japeth for Taha and a 2014 pick. What does this bring to the Barangay?

In Japeth we got a potential (or is it already) head case but someone who is better than Taha at this point.

Espiritu is the throw in in this trade since the Gin Kings needs to acquire a pick in order to send to Global ( I think they already gave away their 2014 1st and 2nd round pick in the Casio trade).

Besides, I don't think Espiritu will be able to get some playing time given that we already have Ellis, Mac B as well as Dylan A at SF

  8. hindi na tatanggapin ng boston si allen. may lee at jet na sila. sila ang future ng celtics rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

If that is the case then well and good for the C's ...

At the end of the day, RA made a good decision to move to Miami for a chance to win a title since the Heat is already in the Finals and will be gunning for a B2B championship vs the Spurs.

  9. People close to Ray Allen claiming he is thinking about opting out of his contract hoping to return to Boston for 1 year & retire a celtic.

Gusto niyo pa ba Celtic fans? rolleyes.gif

a lot depends on ainge. if he decides that the championship window is closed for the celts he'll deal PP for sure. and without PP garnett is good as gone. 'twould be interesting though if PP can bring along KG to his next team. KG ( who admits he bleeds green) might just decide to retire. if i were ainge... i'd blow this team up now and rebuild with green/sullinger / rondo at its core. sully and green might be more complementary players than the established stars that are pierce and garnett do look for boston to bring in an FA or two. it might take another 5-7 years before the celts get playoff ready but hey ... its reality .

Do i hear anyone saying I'd rather see the C's lose with PP and KG rolleyes.gif

  11. KG and paul pierce have to face reality. Yes they are old and at the end of their hall of fame careers. If they want to remain competative and try to win a championship, I think both will have to take a significant pay cut (because of salary cap restrictions) and the celtics have to sign a big free agent. Thats the only way.

Unfortunately, not only a huge pay cut will do the trick. The C's will probably need to move/dump some assets as well.

Any takers for the Jet and Lee?

  12. Sources indicate Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge will likely buy out forward Paul Pierce's $15 million contract for next year ($5 million is guaranteed). If that happens, Grant should be first in line to try to acquire Pierce's services. However, before anyone gets too giddy, Pierce will likely want to go to a serious contender. News-Herald

If this is true, would PP be interested to do a Ray Allen and play for his hometown and the C's greatest rival the Los Angeles Lakers for a huge bargain? cool.gif

Will Kobe still be taken by the LA Team Owner next season? With 30.2M salary next year, I think Kobe is not worth that much anymore with the way he's playing lately.

Kobe is still under contract for next season. Even if they amnesty him he still will get his pay. So better utilize him than put the 30m totally to waste.

Another option is to trade him ... But since kobe got a no trade clause, he has to approve it.

  14. Congrats to alaska, tingin ko the short series did Ginebra in, after all, kakatapos pa lang ng series nila against tnt ng Sunday then game 1 na agad noon Wesnesday. Lesson na 'yan for future match-up with them, Mali lang sa naging strategy nila is focusing too much on Abueva when Thoss and Casio did the most damaged to them, Thoss just imposed his will inside the shaded while Casio's shooting is just something! Also, he Ginebra fans here are so darn pissed at Abueva but I don't, he just did his assignment and succeeded, the guy is a horse horse on both ends of the floor. Tingin ko, Willie Wilson could have did a much better job on Abueva.

Abueva IMHO did not hurt GSM offensively. It was his defense and hustle/intensity that did the damage.

  15. I think the only long term contract to be given this summer will be that of DH. I believe they would like to keep their flexibility come 2014.

    Target LBJ by then? cool.gif

  17. If you notice ang ganda ng ikot ng bola ng alaska. Personally kasi i would rather take a chance and see if alaska will fall into playing one on one since sabi nga kaya nilang i-overpower si mac. Baka mas may chance pa tayong dumobol team.

But yes liliit nga ang gin kings sa ganyang line-up
