  1. Even if GSM won vs. Petron I think they should continue to  improve on their rebounding.

Versus an undersized Petron squad, we got outrebounded 53-48.

What is most glaring is that Petron got 21 offensive rebounds as compared to GSM's 9.

  2. Lets just say that the meralco game was a fluke hehehehe

Fluke? I think we should give where credit is due. Meralco executed their game plan and GSM was not able to adjust their game accordingly.

Even ang Petron nahirapan sa Meralco. At one point Gee even had to sit Junmar in lieu of Kramer just to be able to have a faster unit on the floor.

  3. In hindsight madaling mag comment na bakit may itinirang 1.1 seconds pa. Pero if you are the coach and the player executing the play "spit second" decision yan at hindi mo na matatancha na sagadin ang oras.

If you notice LA wasted the time and started the "offensive attack" with around 5 seconds remaining. Sa Basketball eto ang usual na ginagawa if you want to take the LAST SHOT. It just so happened that nun pinasa ni LA kay Japeth un bola he decided to take the three thus may natirang 1.1 seconds. Pero kung covered si Japeth nun malamang nag drive un for the shot which would most likely leave no time remaining sa shot clock.

I wonder how many offensive boards GSM gave away to TnT?

  4. Just happened to check on the NBA team standings this morning and was surprise to see the Celtics running 4th at this point even with a .400 winning percentage by virtue of being the top team in the the division with the poorest combined record in the east.

Brooklyn and New York are really under performing at this point.

  5. exactly my point sir, kaya walang basehan yung post nung isang GM na Fajardo > Slaughter AND

    Aguilar...

In terms of where they both are now with regards to their respective "GAME or SKills, IMHO individually, mas angat na si Junmar compared kay Greg. Sa observation ko may nagagawa kasi si Fajardo na hindi pa masyadong magawa ni Greg sa laro. For example post moves of Greg needs improvement as compared to Fajardo. As such maari nga na Junmar is > Greg individually.

Pero in terms of "effectiveness" nila sa kani-kanilang team, since iba ang kailangan ng Petron kay junmar compared sa kailangan na contribusyon ng GSM kay Greg then hindi natin masasabing Junmar is > Greg sa puntong ito.

Well I think that stats can be deceiving depending on how one is utilized by his team to determine who is better "individually". For instance Romeo is now leading the league in scoring so does it mean he is "better" than Sol Mercado his team mate or the likes of Mark Caguioa, GAry David and others who plays the same position as he does in the league?

  6. eto lang napapansin ko ... IMHO, Fajardo has become one of, if not THE prime scoring option of Petron. At most they run a few pick and rolls for Greg but most of his points are mostly off offensive boards or mga drop pass/hand offs.

  7. good news is that even without Kobe the Lakers were able to stay at .500 but as he prepares to play his first game of the season there are players who are now hurting.

Nash hasn't been playing for weeks. PAu will have undergo an MRI on his ankle while Farmar will be out for at least a month due to a hamstring injury.

Forrester seems lost when in the court ....

Pero kita mo un athleticism niya. High leaper. Just imagine him and ellis playing in the wings on a fast break play at trailer mo si Greg at Japeth.

I think kulang sa confidence pa ... because limited un playing time. Pwede rin pressured siya ... Well who wouldn't be if you are playing for a team like GSM na very deep din ang backcourt. Sa aking palagay alam ng mga bench players na MC47 will get the lion share of the playing time with JJ as his chief reliever.

His difference with Romeo? Terrence has the license to shoot given that he is the main SG off the bench for Global. Forrester at this point is only the 3rd or even the 4th option in the rotation and certainly is not among the main scoring option for GSM given his relatively poor shooting percentage (base on his college stats). James got to improve on his shooting and can't solely rely on his athleticism if he wants to be successful in the PBA

And kapag tinopak si Romeo medyo may pagkabuwaya and mali ang mga decision

    Korek!

Just thinking, another scenario is that hindi kaya may usapan na wag kunin si TR kasi kursunada talaga siya ng globalport . Kumbaga part of the deal with the smc group para makuha ng petron si taha. rolleyes.gif

    HIndi kaya sa salary cap?

Based sa nabasa ko max rookie contract ang nakuha din ni forrester so baka hindi salary cap. Eto ang opinion ko:

Maliit kasi si Romeo @ 5'9" so baka nagalangan if magiging effective ito as a sg in the pba. Si Forrester kasi mas malaki at athletic. .

  11. I still think Pau has the heart ... although he probably does not have the "energy" that Hill is showing now. Could be the age. Being a player with an expiring contract, am pretty sure Pau knows he got to have a good season to boost his stock otherwise he got to accept a huge paycut either in LA or elsewhere.

  12. "if they wanted a more mobile big man, they should have drafted Sangalang instead..."

may point ka naman dito sir, tama ka sa sinabi mong yan.. specially kung before the draft pinag-isipan...

pero since na-draft na si Slaughter, i'm suggesting things na pwedeng maging remedyo...

mas ok sana if Slaughter would be trained by someone with the likes of Menk or Asi...

Agree ako with you. I think that if there is someone to mentor Greg IMHO it must not be Marlou.

Kita naman natin yun mama may one on one post move while si Greg is still awkward sa ganoong situations. Based on his first game,Greg's points comes mostly on pick and rolls near the basket and offensive rebound put backs.

I hope Aguilar will continue to "bulk up" or at least gain more upper body strength. Parang ang awkward niya kasi pang sinalubong ng foul going to the basket. Baka lang ma-injured siya uli kasi if I recall sa ganun situation siya na injured last conference

  13. For me ito ang tingin ko...

If ginebra wanted a mobile big man then they should have drafted ian sangalang at hindi mo na kailangan un mama maging mobile.

For me greg is andy siegle 2.0 sa nakikita kong laro niya sa ngayon

  14. at this point Greg is more of a "Marlou" than an "Asi" or a "Menk". Marlou for me plays "softer" as compared to Asi and Menk who are "bangers" inside the paint.

We need Greg to play "tough" not "soft". Do we want Marlou to mentor Greg to be like Marlou?

  15. talo na naman today sa Denver.

Am really puzzled by D' Antoni's coaching. It seems hindi niya makuha un hinahanap niyang combination (kung may hinahanap nga). Since the start of the season he had various tweaks in the starting line-up.

  16. Just my opinion ... NASH is not even 1/2 of the "Nash" the Lakers expects him to be when they signed him. I wonder if there are any other teams interested. Better trade him and save on $$$ and more cap space for next season.
