  1. I had more realistic expectations about this team and especially with everyone being older and new coaches, chemistry and ego issues along the way. If you remember Karl Malone and Gary Payton, they were no longer in their prime and they quit the lakers after that season but at least they made the finals. That was different, same coach, same system, same core and just added some pieces.

Maybe the best 5 on paper but you can't win with just your starting 5. The bench is important too.

Jim Buss broke this team apart. The Laker bench is now on the Clippers side :)

Just look at the other teams finding ways to win without their superstar players.

I agree ... the Lakers surely did have an "upgrade" at the point by signing Nash but he is not the same Nash that won the MVP. DH on the other hand somehow didn't play to expectations. Plus the team had to go through a change in the system twice, first under Coach Brown then under D' Antoni. There is the question of whether the system being introduced is well suited to the players they have.

Miami didn't win immediately when they formed their Big 3. Boston was kinda lucky to win on its first year against the Lakers team that added Gasol midway through that season. The core of that Lakers team that lost to Boston eventually won a couple of rings ... that is why although I am hopeful that the Lakers can contend, I have some reservations that they can win it all in this year. But from the start I expect this core to win at least one in three years time specially with a few additions eventually to improve the bench.

Then again, looking at their situation now wherein they are struggling just to make the playoffs is enough to say they have played well below my expectations. This team should at least be in the middle of the pack if not on top of the standings. If lady luck won't cooperate, our dear Lakers might end up being the top non playoffs-bound teamsad.gif

Well they have 8 games to save their season ... and the ball is in their hands. GO LAKERS!

  2. The Celtics could not stop Pekovic as he scored a team high 29 points. Kitang-kita ang pagka donut nitong wala si KG. Am sure tan elite shot blocking big man would be a welcome addition sleep.gif

  3. The LAKERS truly have underperformed this year... may mga nagsabing papasok sa finals ang Lakers nun nakuha sina Nash at DH pero sa nakikita natin baka pati sa playoffs di pa makapasok.

While they have assembled the one of the best if not the "best" starting five in the league, the Lakers were not able to fully maximize playing them together due to injuries. Umabot kaya ng 10 games?

None the less, the Lakers still only have themselves to blame for their inconsistencies. How many games did they lose which were supposedly "won" games already? If you add these games up, they would probably have safely secured a playoffs spot by now.

  5. The Celtics lose to the Wolves 110 -100 ...

The Bucks seems to be on its way to a win over the Bobcats thus cutting the celtic's lead for the 7th seed to just 1.5 games. All the Bucks needs to do is to tie the record of the Celtics and they can secure the 7th seed as they own the tie breaker. If this happens, HEAT -CELTICS in Rd 1 ... Let's get it on!!!

  6. How can the team solve its not-so-impressive performance this season? I don't think they can even make it to the second round of the playoffs eventually. Much less making it to the finals unless they can tame lady luck.

The only way imho is to start rebuilding. But it seems to me that Ainge has been conservative to make any BOLD moves.

The C's are stuck with KG since he owns a no trade clause and may not amenable to be moved. And they continue to get sentimental in parting with PP ...

  7. Imho the jazz have the lighter schedule as compared to that of the Lakers but their last two games will be on the road. This could be a factor if it comes down the wire.

The jazz owns the tie breaker therefore more pressure on the lakers.

  8. I agree Ms Moderator (Riviera) ... thank you for bringing this thread to its order.

LAKERS next game vs the Mavs ... they would still have to face these teams: Clippers, NO, Portland, GS, SA and Houston. Medyo mabigat na schedule pa ito.

  9. Celtics vs Knicks ... end of 1st half and the C's are down by 17. Will the C's be able to pull a come from behind victory?

wala ... talo talaga. Final score 108-89

Knicks bench outscored their Celtics counterpart 50-32. Copeland scored 22 pts in 20 min.

C's got the deepest bench in the leaque? rolleyes.gif I get to smile every time i get to recall this person's opinion biggrin.gif

As we speak, the Lakers are still in 8th place in the West and fighting for their playoff lives.

As you speak the lakers are running 9th not 8Th as you claim. Mali na naman ang pinagsasabi molaugh.gif

The Jazz and the Lakers have identical records but the Jazz owns the tie break hence they are at number 8.tongue.gif

And as i speak now, both utah and the lakers have won their respectives game today. Thus, the lakers is still at 9th place in the west.

Go Celtics, secure the 7th spot soon even with less than 10 games in the regular season!

The Celtics can secure a spot in the playoffs with another win coupled with another loss by the sixers. And imho the bucks' lead should be enough to secure the final spot. None the less it still a dogfight for the 7th seed in the east. Who wants to face the mighty Heat in the first round. Kung celtics vs heat, manalo kaya ang celtics?

Celtics will most likely get the 7th seed

Logically thinking at this point it seems to be the likely scenario ...As i said they have the lighter schedule ahead. Still It won't stop me from hoping for a heat - celtics first round series ...wink.gif

Btw, we also know that kg is out and the Bucks will most like also want to get the 7th seed in the east and avoid the heat. If the Bucks will be winning games, the C's will have to continue to play hard and defend their lead. will Doc have the luxury of resting his stars for the playoffs as in the previous years?rolleyes.gif

  13. The Celtics now just have a 2 game lead over the bucks for the 7th seed. While the teams that would enter the playoffs in the east have been set imho (unless the highly improbable happens) , it is still a dog fight for the final two seedings between the Celtics and the Bucks.

One thing going for the Celtics is that imho they have the lighter schedule compared to the Bucks in their remaining games.Who wants to be 8th and meet the mighty Heat in a first round series?wink.gif

The current 8th seed of the East clobbered the current 8th seed of the West. At this point, LAL is not even assured of the 8th seed. The Mavs and Jazz are still very much in contention for the West's 8th seed.

    Yup you are correct ...

Its still a dog fight for the final spot in the West. in fact even the ones currently in 6th and 7th still ain't safe. This is unlike in the east wherein i belive there is a slim to none chance that We'll see any changes Except probably for the seedings. Thanks largely to being in a weaker conference.

With the win of the Bucks over the lakers, its bitter sweet for me. i hate to see the lakers lose this game but on the other hand the Celtics now just have a 2 games Lead over the Bucks for the 7th seed in the east. Am sure the Bucks would love to get the. 7th seed and push the Celtics down to 8th so as to avoid the Heat. If that happens, as terry said that would be fireworks. A celtics -heat 1st round series is something i'm longing for in the east....Can the C's win? rolleyes.gif

As for my dear lakers, they better get their acts together ....and start winning for a final playoffs push

Time for a big overhaul of the players and coaching staff I guess.

    What is there to overhaul?

    • Doc is one of the best coaches out there.
    • According to someone, the C's have the strongest supporting cast in the league laugh.gif
    • And the same person would rather lose with kg and pp than see them tradedwink.gif

Bradley btw is on a slump...i agree with this article

    http://greenstreet.weei.com/sports/boston/basketball/celtics/2013/03/27/avery-bradley-celtics-not-playing-the-right-way/

Average Bradley better be the second coming of Michael Cooper defensively because offensively he's a liability

  16. But in insurance they charge you with fee at

About 5% & in insurance are longer terms unlike

In uitf after 30 days you can pull out your money

    If you want ....

What you are mentioning are the difference in product features ... ie. tenor, entry or exit fees/charges. These have nothing to do regarding the question whether it is redundant or not to have a variable life and a uitf since they are not one and the same.

  17. I would like to enter the stock market but i have little to no experience in it. But i do have skills in predicting trends because of my profession (i predicted the stocks trend of US during both presidential elections)

    my question is this.

what is the general behavior of the stocks before and after Christmas season? (it sound weird but i have to have a baseline on the behavior, if it follows what my known industry does). does it go up before christmas and down after christmas?

the general trend is it goes up in december ... should be higher after christmas due to year-end window dressing activities
