  1. yeah probably UFC Philippines will have Nover and Vera in the main fight cards

And I hope we also see some of the local talent on display. Ruben Sumido, Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon it'd be great to see them in some of the supporting bouts.

  2. WEC 36 RESULTS:

Mike Brown defeats Urijah ” The California Kid” Faber via technical knockout (strikes) in round one for the WEC Featherweight Championship

Chael Sonnen defeats WEC Middleweight Champion Paulo Filho via unanimous decision

Leonard Garcia defeats Jens “Little Evil” Pulver via technical knockout (strikes) in round one

Jake Rosholt defeats Nissen Osterneck via technical knockout (strikes) in round two

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone defeats “Razor” Rob McCullough via unanimous decision

Aaron Simpson defeats David Avellan via knockout (punch) in round one

Jose Aldo defeats Jonathan Brookins via technical knockout (strikes) in round three

Carmelo Marrero defeats Steve Steinbeiss by split decision

Danny Castillo defeats Rafael Dias via technical knockout (strikes) in round one

Rani Yahya defeats Yoshiro Maeda via submission (guillotine choke) in round one

    Puro upset ata mga result...

Tsk. pati si Razor Rob talo. Oh well. Said it time and again. It is MMA and anything can happen.

  3. malinis dito and i agree that its much better than sogo...

price of the room are fair... but i think sogo rates are much more cheaper...

actually pareho lang halos and mas malinis and parang mas malalaki ang kuwarto when u comapre it to the ones in sogo. apart from that. 4 hours ang short time dito so mas sulit tlga yung bayad mo.

  4. me discount card ba dito? hihingin lng sa counter?

first time ko sa eurotel kahapon. pero me streamers sila na inaaccept ung discount card ng ibang hotel.

yup meron. pero madalas daw silang magkaubusan ng dc lately. although i was lucky enough to get one a month ago.

  5. I say have luiz banha cane drop to 185 or 2 words cung lee andersons last 3 loses all came from asians hahah

good point. and two of those losses were via submission (triangle choke to Daiju Takase and heel hook from a "beautiful" scissor lock takedown by Ryo Chonan). so there we have it. the guy who will beat silva should be asian and should be a submission artist. hehehe.

but all kidding aside Anderson has truly improved on the ground under the tutelage of the Noguiera siblings (that switchout escape from the back to a single during his fight with Marquardt was sweet btw) but IMHO it is still the best way to beat him.

Hendo took him down and controlled him during the first round of their fight and clearly won the round. Had he done that the whole five rounds instead of engaging him in a brawl during the second round he could have won that fight. Travis Lutter also had him mounted during their fight. I believe that had he chosen to continue with the GNP instead of going for that "sloppy" armbar the ref would have stopped the fight and he would have won.

  6. Speaking of ADCC, regional trials are on the way and the finals will be held on May 2009 in the US. Who will be crowned Absolute!?!? I wanna see a Drysdale vs. Roger Gracie match! Hope they compete! :thumbsupsmiley:

Well I'd love to see another Jacare vs Roger Gracie match in the ADCC Absolute finals.

  7. As Olympus said it really depends on you and whenever you think your energy level is ideal to working out.

Personally I prefer to train in the evenings after all the officework is done. For me mas masarap kasi magworkout ng wala ka ng iintindihin pagkatapos kundi yung pag-uwi mo na lang at kung anung kakainin mo pagdating mo sa bahay. It allows me to give all my energy to the workout and push myself as hard as i can.

May mga tao din namang mas gusto magworkout muna bago pumasok sa office dahil nakakaenergize naman or nakakareferesh magpapawis for them before the office day begins. This does not apply to me though. I think I'd be too 'tired' or too 'sleepy' to work after a session in the gym.

  8. malapit na yung UFC 91, sino mga picks ninyo?

    Couture

    Florian

    Gonzaga

    Maia

Well, I'll take picks from the undercard fights naman.

I pick Lister to win (hopefully via sub in the first few minutes of the first round)

    Chonan via decision,

Matt Hamill via GNP and last but not least...

Antoni Hardounk via TKO due to vicious leg kicks.

This guy can really kick! He's in my top three 'leg kickers' in the UFC the other two being 'the Pitbull' Thiago Alves and the 'Dean of Mean' Keith Jardine.

  9. I'd like to say that from personal experience that a lot of people find it a lot easier to quit smoking once they've immersed themselves in some form of physical activity which requires that they be in the best condition. Case in point, a lot of the wrestlers I teach in UP used to be smokers. Once they started training wrestling and grappling and MMA they were forced to cut their smoking habits. So for the smokers out there who'd like to quit just a simple word of advice. Find something, some activity (other than smoking) may it be basketball, badminton or martial arts or some form of exercise which'll require you to be in the best cardiovascular condition. Of course you have to like the activity too.

  10. Guys just a quick tought! With Elite XC's demise! Who should the UFC pick from the fighters there?!

    I say:

    Jake Shields in WW

    Robbie Lawler in MW

    KJ Noons in LW

    Rafael Feijao in LHW

By the way I read somewhere that Kimbo vs. Seth Petruzeli 2 might take place in K1 Dynamites New Years Eve show?! Fans in Japan would appreciate Kimbo there!? right!? He can sharpen up his game there before going to the UFC?! :thumbsupsmiley:

The Japs are gonna love Kimbo if ever K1 does take him under their wing. The japs like 'characters' like Kimbo who they can hype up and in particular in a match against somebody who's already knocked him out like Seth would make a great storyline. The japs putting in their dose of drama on fights (sometimes to much drama if you ask me).

Anyway Lawler I think would certainly want to go back to the big show, the UFC after the recent demise of EliteXC. He'll add another contender to what's already widely considered as the most 'talent-rich' division in the UFC.

  11. Ey! Chonan is no tomato can!? He didnt beat A. Silva for nothing right?! He fights in welterweight in the UFC, his new to the US/UFC casual fans! But your right about UFC can not afford A. Silva to lose again to Chonan!? Rem. what happend to Rampage vs. Lidell 2!?

I think Robie Lawler would be a good fight for A. Silva in MW!? Elite XC went bankrupt already! Hope UFC picks up the Ruthless one again!? :thumbsupsmiley:

Fighters I think can pose a problem for A. Silva at MW in the UFC:

    Demian Maia

    Thales Leites

    Rousimar Palhares

    Michael Bisping

    Dan Henderson (rematch)

A Robbie Lawler Silva match would be awesome. It'd be a short fight for sure with someone getting KO'd in the first round but I'd pay to see it. hehe.

Anyway again, stylistically Hendo in my opinion is the one best suited for a fight against Anderson Silva. If the 3 BJJ Blackbelts could develop better chins and faster shots though Silva might have a problem with any of them.

  12. yup the jap fighters have a lot of heart, that fight is one of my favorite MMA fights of all time, flying scissor takedown to heel hook FTW! that could have been the best moment in Chonan's MMA life ^_^

Yeah I bet. hehe. Anyhow, if Chonan is already in the UFC like sir Larry here said. Why don't they set up a grudge match between him and anderson at 185? I bet despite being an underdog it would draw huge ticket sales since that fight with Chonan is Anderson's only devastating defeat.

Remember when Rampage first stepped into the UFC they had him fight the first guy he fought (and lost to) in MMA, Marvin 'the Beastman' Eastman and it was a success. I think they can market an Anderson-Chonan fight just the same.

  13. Chonan has been fighting for the UFC, but not in main cards after his loss to Karo Parisyan, but that would be interesting he was the only one that legitimately beat Silva via that from nowhere flying scissor takedown to knee bar or was that a heel hook?

heel hook. count on the jap fighters to come up with innovative ways of winning fights despite being whooped almost the entire time. That Chonan win had got to be one of the most compelling come from behind victories in MMA.
