bods1000
bods, ok yung avatar mo. yan ba ang latest pix from the bulls in pamplona? if i recall correctly, there is a scene in strawdogs where susan george or dustin throws a kettle of boiling water to one of the thugs as he peeps sa window... yeah pare. July 7-14 is the Feastday of San Fermin in Pamplona and of course one of the highlights is the Annual Running of the Bulls. I read that 4 people were seriously injured now and a total of 10 were brought to the hospital with various injuries Pare, what say all of us 70's guys go to Pamplona and run with the bulls hahaha....it's been a dream of mine, and of course we can all run with whatever Spanish beauties we can find out there The theme of STRAW DOGS was how a normally quiet and non-violent man copes with violence and horror. Dustin's character was a quiet and reclusive man who goes on a honeymoon, I think, to the Scottish Highlands with his ravishing wife, Susan George, and there he is exposed to ugly events, including the rape of his wife. The film turns violent towards the end as Dustin takes matters into his own hands. Sam Peckinpah directs and this explains the movie's violent leanings, Peckinpah after all directed that classic homage to gore - THE WILD BUNCH. Quote Link to comment
storm
Pareng storm, “Looking Through the Eyes of Love” was sung by Melissa Manchester, love theme from the movie ICE CASTLE, theme song naming kasi ng dating girlfriend ko yan hehehehe. Maureen McGovern sang the theme song from the movie TOWERING INFERNO – “we may never love like this again” Another Barry Manilow song – “trying to get that feeling again” theme song naman ng aking other girlfriend nuon hehehehehe The way we were - barbra streisand from the movie of the same title with robert redford. Minnie Ripperton's loving you was her one and only song that have top the charts tapos namatay na agad si minnie ripperton Thanks for the correction bro. We watched that movie also Songs din namin noon ay yung Moment by Moment by Yvonne Elliman. Another one is Morning After from The Posiedon Adventure. Yung Off my Cloud at saka yung I Got Caught dancung Again by the Hues Corp was also very memorable kasi yun ang magkasunod na sweet song nang sinagot ako ng first gf ko sa high school (2nd year). Panay kanta sa akin ng "You filled up my senses.... Nung kasikatan ni Barry mannilow ay panahon din ng kabangisan ko sa chicks. Pero yung song na memorable sa akin dahil sa iyon ang tugtog nang sinagot ako ng naging kumander ko ay Heaven Must be Missing an Angel. We were on the dance floor and I was making a heart sign while dancing. She gave me a nod and we embraced. Heaven talaga. Quote Link to comment

Hello darkness my old friend.... Ang ganda ni Katharine Ross. correct! Dyan din tinugtog yung MRS. ROBINSON...I wonder whatever happened to Kathering Ross. After THE GRADUATE, she appeared with Paul Newman and Robert Redford in BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID then nawala na yata siya. Can anybody forget that scene in BUTCH CASSIDY where Katherine Ross was riding yata in the handlebar of the bicycle being ridden by Paul Newman while RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD as sung by BJ THOMAS was being played? That was one vivid memory for me! Quote Link to comment

Stepford Wives has been remade and was shown recently in the states starring Nicole Kidman. RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD was used again in Spider-man 2. that song was composed by Burt Bacharach. Yeah, the very famous Mrs. Robinson played by Anne Bancroft. We used to call Mrs. Robinson yung mga mommy ng mga kakalase namin na may asim pa ika nga ang dating (mala-Cory Quirino) Quote Link to comment

Magaling
The first parties I've ever attended (in later grade school years), we danced to the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever. The first audio tape I've ever bought was Andy Gibb's Shadow Dancing. The first movie I ever saw in a moviehouse without my parents was Carwash. The first time I ever cut class was to go out with my friends to watch the Led Zepellin concert movie at Quad. Hotdog, which IMHO is the most revolutionary Filipino band, took OPM out of the "Novelty Songs" category and into the pop mainstream. It was also the time of Pinoy Rock at DZRJ (The Rock of Manila). Juan dela Cruz band. Later on came Maria Cafra, Banyuhay ni Hebert, Asin, Florante, etc. Naghiwalay ang Circus Band and everybody came to know Basil, Hadji, Pabs, Jacqui, Tillie, and Boy K. as individual performers. During that time, Ateneo and La Salle were still part of the NCAA. The NCAA was THE collegiate leauge. Nobody watches UAAP. Palakasan ng cheering between students and alumni from Ateneo, La Salle, San Beda, Baste, and Letran. Now, Ateneo and DLSU brought cheering to the UAAP (wala namang cheer ang mga UAAP schools eh sa totoo lang!). In return, the Blue Babble Batallion learned how to dance (if you grew up seeing the snappy way the BBB used to cheer, you'd understand the "something's-wrong-with-this-picture-feeling" that one gets while watching them dance these days). And it seems a lot of the songs coming out of the airwaves nowadays are just remakes. I watched a BBC documentary on 70s pop culture and there was this observation that the 70s was the golden age of pop music. At no other time in the 20th century has music become more diverse. And from no other era has music been as remade and copied as those from the 70s. Quote Link to comment
