No one seems to be playing that kind of music. Was just listening to God Save the Queen of Sex Pistols a while back and some Led Zep II songs. Let the good times roll!

yeah we won't hear the kind of music FZ created. FZ left us too soon. An original iconoclast - didn't care what he wrote or whether his music would sell but he was one great composer and one of the best ever guitarists that walked this planet.

The Rock and Roll Machine last Sunday was great. Ang dami ko na namang nadinig na songs which I haven't heard for a long time. Cousin Hoagy played George Harrison's LOVE COMES TO EVERYONE as sung and performed by Eric Clapton. Ang galing! Brought back a lot of memories. Had to dig out the song sa Limewire and after some lengthy searching which took a few days, nakuha ko din hehehe...

On the record, DLSU won more varsity championships in the NC than ADM in the early 70s until ADM joined UAAP in 78 and DLSU followed in 86.

Those were the days nga. Ngayon nagtatabi na ang mga fans sa Araneta, minsan halo-halo sa loob. Wala lang. Palakpak, sigaw, tapos.

 

The 70s - those were the days of adrenaline and testosterone - a dangerous mix in an NCAA basketball game.

 

Ngayon, ang mix natin ay Calciblock and Viagra (sometimes) bwahahaha.

Now, we can even bring our children and enjoy ourselves totally.

 

That's actually a pretty good and welcome development as the culture of both schools have really changed towards a greater acceptance of each other's existence.

 

Before, kasi, kahit sa mga parties lang hinde talaga pwedeng magsama and La Sallista at Atenista as there's a very good chance na may mag-aaway. I was witness to these incidents several times.

 

La Salle Ateneo 2nd game today. Para sa akin lang--whoever wins deserves it more as both teams have been working hard all through out the season.

I watched my first NCAA game when I was just in the 4th grade. Opening day at the Araneta. SBC vc. Baste. We lost. And yet, inabangan pa rin yung school bus namin sa labas ng Araneta at pinagbabato.

 

I was already in 1st or 2nd year HS when SBC had that rumble against Ateneo after a championship game. The last game was held behind closed doors. The Red Lions won what would eventually be their last championship in 28 years. Ateneo decided to leave and join the UAAP the following year.

 

Staple NCAA cheer: "Manalo! Matalo! Bugbog kayo!"

 

Ngayon, relatively tame na ang NCAA but there are still fights every now and then. (Kahapon SBC vs. JRU may nagsuntukan na naman!) By comparison, the UAAP is as "polite" as it has always been.
