Back To The 70's

Off-topic lang, sandali Storm > > Our beloved UP is celebrating its centennial in 2008. Baka naman puede ka mag volunteer / donate ng talent mo by designing a better commemorative thingy - kausapin mo na man ang mga UP officials.. kaya yan ng powers mo. AYOKO na ng bronze oblation!!!!! <_< (the one we had noong Diamond) at medal-medallion na iyan. I am sure you can think of a better one.

Sa mga 'tweeners like us in the 70's, our idol - ingenue "wish-i-was...or sana I looked-like" was CLOSE UP GIRL Tetet Limjap (now Crisol) na super wholesome.

By the time I was in HS, ang pantasya ng bayan in our parts was Crispy (tama ba spelling) Santamaria.

In college, I had a fling (remember that word? kids nowadays don't use that term anymore!) from a nearby school who was a MOD cover girl. Now it got me thinking...it was so long ago I couldn't even remember her name.

The closest I got was to date some of them. One even went beyond but my lips are sealed. :P

I also went out with some beauty pageant contestants then, from BP to Mutya. Kaladkarin ako noon. :hypocritesmiley:

It seems to me that hands down, Pareng Storm you are the pinaka (should I stress, former?) chick boy in this thread! Sayang di tayo nagpangabot. I could have gained a lot of pointers from you. Hehehe. I guess it's too late now. But it's still fun reminiscing.... :)

Hehehe :D

Pareng Storm, biro lang! :D

Si STORM, reformed na iyan :hypocritesmiley: ...by choice. He married the best among all the women :) no reason pa mag-chickboy,...so like all ELDERLY gusto lang niya maalala ang halcyon days niya :D tama ba bro?

Yes. That's why I was careful to write in the past tense....We are all reformed, I know. :hypocritesmiley: Meron lang relapse, from time to time. Joke! Hahaha! :hypocritesmiley:

Other Lux models I can recall also included Maritess Revilla (daughter of 50s actor Armando Goyena) and Marivic Roldan (daughter of 60s actor Carlor Salazar, she is also younger cousin of Pops Fernandez).

Konting correction lang Pareng Mandrake. (I hope you don't mind) The Revilla sisters (including Maritess) were models for Camay which is a rival product of Lux. In fact, their mom was the first Camay girl in the fifties. And one of their nieces also became a Camay girl in the late 80s/early 90s.

Oo nga pre..it was CAMAY not LUX. I stand corrected on that. That includes Marivic Roldan as another CAMAY girl but sometime in the 80s (sorry kung OT). :)

And speaking of famous sisters of the 70s, who could ever forget the dancing duo of the ALDEGUER SISTERS (Terri and Lally) and their patented choreography and signature head-throw. :thumbsupsmiley:

wow. nostalgia. grabe.

we recently had a reunion sa UP campus, and it dawned on me that the students there right now hasn't even been born when I was still studying there.

where did the time go?!?

Welcome to the thread boytopak.

:goatee:

Hi Storm :)

Title-holder ka din as the perennial DP / Escort / Consort / Date to the famous and infamous beauties of the

70's and 80's. :)

Kaladkarin nga. :P Mukha kasi akong mabait at mapagkakatiwalaan. :hypocritesmiley:

So true, so true. She appeared in a Lux commercial.

Pareng Magaling and JT,

Aside from being super gorgeous, mabait yang si Crispy. We saw her na nakapila sa Quad to buy tickets for a movie. I think it was 1975 or 1976. My barkada dared me to approach her kung kaya ng apog ko. We made a bet and nilapitan ko siya. Nagpabili pa ako ng movie tickets. :P She bought tickets for us with a smile.

Crispy appeared in CAMAY. She’s also a Pitoy Moreno model.

Her younger sister was my wife's MBM classmate in AIM. She's also gorgeous and maabait din.

I don't think so pare. I believe kilabot ka rin. Mahihilig sa magaganda. :thumbsupsmiley:

Yup, so true. I couldn't agree more. Good boy na ko. :hypocritesmiley:

Sinong kakausapin ko sa UP?

Another crush ng bayan na Camay girl was Toni Rose Gayda.

Yeah, pards. Ang ganda niyang si Toni Rose. :thumbsupsmiley:

Medyo "wild" daw iyan when she lived out in the San Francisco area in the late 70s to the early 80s. :( I don't know how true those rumors were.

May utol pa sila si Gus Aldeguer dancer and singer din. In one show of Home-Boy of TFC's Boy Abunda where Vicky Bello was one of the guests, inamin ni Bello na she goes 25 years back when she also trained and learned dancing from the Aldeguers. After all those years, ganda pa rin ni Madam Vicky!

She's a long time friend from those days in CA. I'm not sure I'd describe her as "wild" dahil kilala ko naman yung pagka-tao niya, though it's been more than 5 yrs. since I last saw her. In my book, she's really cool. I wish I knew how to reach her again.

Si Tetet naman, she was a long time GF of a clasmate. Naturally, we were all jealous of him. When you meet her in person and hear her laughter, nakaka-aliw na talaga. Sigh...

I've also had my share of beauty queens, starlets that later got popular, and a model or 2 (it helped to have a sister who was once a Rustan's VIP exec. ;)) during the late 70's to early 80's. Nowadays, I'm just another guy who's past his prime.....Shet!

Yes! Matitindi itong mga 'to. My favorites in your list are Jean Saburit, Tina Monasterio, and Carmen Ronda. Does anybody remember Ruby Anna from the sitcom "Chicks-2-Chicks"? Matitindi at malalaki ang kanyang mag-kabilang....... 'di bale na at baka ma-ban ako sa MTC. :hypocritesmiley:
