There's so much in the Internet these days about the Terri Schiavo case in the US. It's one of those no-win "right to die" cases, which reminded me of Karen Quinlan's case during the 1970s, when her parents fought a hard but successful court battle to remove her respirator. I remember how, in school, we discussed that issue. What was amazing was that Quinlan continued to breathe and lived for 10 more years after the respirator was removed.

Mahirap kapag holy week. Maraming bawal.

Ngayon kapag holy week ay nagdadaos kami ng thanksgiving para kay Lord Jesus Christ kasi He saved our soul from eternal damnation by giving his life as atonement for our sins.

We call it Pasasalamat para sa Panginoon na nag-alis ng ating kasalanan.

I agree..thin crust large pizzas taste great back then.....nag iba ng binago na yung Saloon ambiance into Family dining ambiance...i remember having my first Shakeys pizza at the Makati Avenue branch ( the former Aunt Mary's Aunt/ Tia Marias....now GreenBelt 3 (the Coffee Bean Tea Leaf and Max Brenner Area)...the Bunch of Lunch then was a mouthful.... a piece of Chicken, Half a Hot Hero Sandwich (or Half Hero Burger) , a half serving of Skiletti, 5 Mojos, 2 Large thin crust pepperoni Pizzas and a slice of Garlic bread :D

The same with Shakey's Pizza.

I remember reading about a now famous pinoy band that was struggling in the 70s. when they were in HongKong for a gig, they tried to supplement their income by going to shakeys there. kahit nuung 70s, hongkong shakeys were boring pizza restos, unlike the live band mentality of rudy salud who owns the franchise in pinas.

70s summer bring back memories of d teen idols of the time

leif garrett - when i think of u, memorize ur number

shaun cassidy - wa ako ma-alala song (erferferf)

tapos d hardy boys and nancy drew mysteries on the boob tube.....

Shaun Cassidy did mostly remakes. "The Doo Run Run" and "Morning Girl" (or was it "Lonely Girl"? or both?) are what I remember. I also remember Lief Garrett coming to our lovely PI and guesting (and lipsyncing his song about dancing) on "Discorama."

But as far as teen idols of the 70s are concerned, at least during the first half of the 70s, David Cassidy was it. At the peak of his popularity, he was considered a phenomenon because all the girls (my sister included) were going gaga over him.
