flyingdutchman
pare, adman ka ba? Natatandaan mo pa mga ads nung araw I don't recall that Nino was in that Grow Tall ad but it's really a monumental mistake judging by how Nino is today. Kaya siguro hindi na mabenta ang Alaska <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope, am not creative enough to be in advertising. Mahiliglang talaga ako manood ng tv noon, and i wasn't the type whowould switch channels when an ad came on. Another reasonmight have been hindi pa uso ang remote control noon andtamad akong tumayo to change channels. Cheers! Quote Link to comment
flyingdutchman
Masi, galing ng analysis mo, may meaningful substance talaga. Our lack of global competetivness in sports is not ingrained in our genes. Just look at Chinese dominance in other fields. Flyingdutchman : wow your recall of those ads are something else: "Galing Mow Man"! Siguro hindi uminom ng Alaska si Nino hehehe Bods, for athletics, I think yung high elevation ng Africans ang key facter to their success. Anyway, sige - para makabalik si mareng augustmoon: Ano ba ang mga memorable 70's ads na inyong napanuod in your 70's black & white Zenith TV's with the "rabbit ears"?? Si flyingdutchman would probably have a wealth of ads to contribute.. How about yung "Kaaaa-ro-neee-ya..."<{POST_SNAPBACK}> My all-time favorite 70's ad : The Levi's commercial with a bunchof guys riding a vehicle with the top down tapos yung background musicwas 'Let Your Love Flow' by the Bellamy Brothers. I can still hear the songin my head whenever I think about the 70's: Let your love flow...Like a mountain stream... Quote Link to comment
masi
the Coke ad which starts with a little girl holding a candle and began singing "I'd like to buy the world a home and furnish it with love..." the camera zooms out as there are more people holdling candles joining in the singing. speaking of Coke and Pepsi, these 2 giants dominated ads in the broadsheets and tv just like globe and smart would dominate it today. madaming pa raffle yang Coke and Pepsi. Just look under the tansan! (cork pa yung inside lining nung tansan!) A Pepsi promo was Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs where you need to complete Snow White and all the 7 Dwarfs (obvious ba!) and get a free trip to Disneyland! Quote Link to comment
sliderule
Funny ako rin, hindi ko nabuo yung X-Men, the Avengers even the Longest day na 58 numbered cards lang gayong there was a time that I had about 2 sacks full of tex. Naubos ko ang lahat ng tex sa buong barangay namin <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never figured out those tex games...basta I remember flipping 3 cards in the air....tapos...ewan ko...Other games we used to play in recess/lunch in Grade School were trumpo, holens/jolens (jolens yung parang golf na shinu-shoot sa butas d ba?) and my favorite SHATO. I wonder how much those tex cards would sell today, may halaga na kaya ngayon ang mga yun? I used to have a lot f those DC and Marvel comics, then I did a stupid thing and sold them to my classmates at 25 cents each. Quote Link to comment
storm
Quote Link to comment
warhead
I remember singing "Bagong Lipunan" sa flag ceremonies bago umuwi; nutribuns etc.Metro Manila cities/towns were then part of Rizal. So sa address: Pasig, Rizal. etc. Quote Link to comment
bods1000
Text ba yun? Funny, I tried to complete the series (e.g. mga Spiderman) in teks pero di nangyari.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pareho din yun. Madaming pinaglalabanan nun.
Heheh, Teks, complete ako ng Longest Day. All cards I kept in a shoe box that used to house my Spartan high cut rubber shoes. If I remember right, the rules of the game are: 1. YOu have 1 "Pamato"2. You also got out a 2nd card called "Panabla"3. The 3rd card is your oppononent's card -selected from his deck (usually his own Panabla) A bet of cards is thrown in from both players. Hard to count cards so we had to use the "Dangkalan" method. The 3 cards are flipped sideways or upwards with a spinning motion generated from the thumb and forefinger and middle finger. Panalo ka if your Pamato card faces the same way as your Panabla card. Talo ka if your Panabla faces the same way as your opponent's card. Tama ba? Grabe.... so long ago I'm not sure anymore but I think the rules I stated are pretty up close. heheh Quote Link to comment

Kaya pa kaya ???? For the girls naman... i propose a GARTER game ( luksong tinik using a garter) Do any of you remember the weekly drama in the '70's "Sta Zita and Mary Rose" ??? May komiks pa nga ito. This program always had a lesson in the end. If I am not mistaken the lead here was Mary Rose Jacinto sister ni RJ. What about "Lollipop Party" on Channel 5 with Maan Hontiveros? And the "bakya" sunday program (precursor of "thats entertainment") Santos, Mortiz and associates... doon ang loveteam nila Vi and Bot, Cora Adajar and Eddie Peregrina, Perla Adea and Romy Mallari, Jun Soler and Raquel Montesa at si Dolly Favorito at Walter Navarro.
