i watched the replay.. still i believe nog could have finished randy on rnd 1 should he opted to ground and poun ala lesnar. but he tried to make it WWE style by trying to submit randy by his fake choke. its obvious nog is not trying very hard to choke out randy. come on, nog could have shifted to other submission if he wanted to with randy lying like dead.

the 3rd round is really WWE ( im not watching too much WWE) with the reversals. NOG coould have it ended again.... but he slowed down in GnP. hehehe.. NOG got randy's back, but what he did? he over shoot himself (like a porntar? and tried again the fake choke and as expectd randy was on top. but alas as the end of rnd 3 sounded, Nog reversed? Y? so people will ask for more rounds ? hahaha? come on nog is bb BBJ!

randys is wasted even baduria can beat him now. 6 more fights? that's what you call soon to be WWE!!!!!

thank you for your lectures but I know something about MMA dudes.

He could've, I agree. Should've been over if he was Lesnar and did a ground and pound on Randy. But before making presumptions like "nagkabayaran" or "fake", why not look via fighter's perspective. Both men are already legends and have been great champions. But there's one more thing that would make the fight historical. And that would be submitting Randy inside the octagon. No man has ever done that and that was an opportunity for Nog. He is a BB in BJJ but Randy's no slouch either. You may know a thing or two about MMA, as you said, but making those careless "analysis" makes us think that your just one of them spectators. Always on the sideline, never been in a game.

By the way, what other submissions should have been done that would greatly apply on that scenario?

the Brabo wasn't fake chief, the proper defense on a choke is to hang on and pray that the choker burns up his arm trying the choke, i bet you my nuts that's what Randy did, specially the Brabo wasn't sunk in as i've mentioned in my earlier post Nog performed it in a really weird angle, so Randy did the "like dead" move, didn't budge and laid still.

i haven't fought MMA nor have entered in a BJJ competetion, although i've had my fair share of mat wars inside the dojo & keeping your position & tucking in your chin is the best defense for a misapplied choke by a strong opponent.

Okay, here's something everybody who posts in the MMA Talk thread should read, including that dude who STILL thinks that Noguiera's Brabo / D'Arce Choke on Randy was "fake". The reason why Noguiera wasn't able to finish Randy off with the Brabo Choke is because Randy was able to stop Noguiera from doing the Gator Roll. Click HERE and read how that happened, and there's also a video of THE Joe D'Arce, the guy with whom the move was named after.

When I was training one of my partners caught me in a Brabo Choke, and without doing the Gator Roll I tapped because it already hurt. The second time he caught me in a Brabo Choke, he did the Gator Roll and I wasn't able to stop it. I went to sleep instantly.

Saying that Nog didn't do enough to finish the choke is also saying that Randy Couture ain't worth s@%t. Think about that. Maybe, JUST FREAKING MAYBE, Randy was doing something to counter the choke. Have you ever thought about that?

Oh, and 100% of the time a BJJ black belt like Noguiera won't overshoot backmount... if he was in UFC 2009 Undisputed. Just because they're BJJ black belts doesn't mean they'll get the perfect position ALL THE TIME.

One more thing: If the Brabo / D'Arce Choke is "fake", how can Kendall Grove finish Alan Belcher WITH THE SAME CHOKE back in UFC 69? I can still remember that fight because pulling off a D'Arce in an actual MMA fight is as rare as pulling off a gogoplata in an actual MMA fight, and when I saw Grove put Belcher to sleep with the D'Arce I freaked. That was almost 3 years after I stopped training because of a dislocated shoulder, and I can still feel the pain I felt when I got caught in the D'Arce.

I sincerely hope this link ends ALL SPECULATION that the fight was a work, or Noguiera let Randy off easy because of that "fake" Brabo / D'Arce Choke.

Rampage gets Mr. T role in 'A-Team' movie, will not fight at UFC 107

By Steve Cofield

The scheduling twists are non-stop in mixed martial arts. UFC is all set to debut in Memphis with a card following "The Ultimate Fighter 10" on December 12. Why Memphis? Well, it's Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's hometown and he was expected to take on fellow TUF 10 coach Rashad Evans in a much-anticipated fight.

But according to MMABay, a British MMA site with close ties to Jackson's camp, that won't be happening. The site reports that the Evans-Jackson fight has been dumped from the card because Rampage is expected to play the role of B.A. Baracus in the new "A-Team" movie which is currently filming in Vancouver, and he would not have had time to get in full training camp before UFC 107.

UPDATE: The Sun confirmed that Jackson did get the role in "The A-Team".

Wow, what a bummer! After what should be the best TUF season ever, now we have to wait months for Evans and Jackson to climb in the cage? UFC president Dana White, boarding a plane for Italy on Friday, was unavailable for comment.

All of a sudden, Memphis seems like a risky proposition with a depressed economy and no local star on the card. There's also the concern of fighting in the South as the SEC football season is wrapping up and the NFL is in its playoff drive. Ultimate Fight Night 17 in Nashville got next to no coverage in the Tennessean, will it be any different with the Memphis Commercial and on local television and radio? UFC 102 in Portland fell little flat and failed to sell out. Could it have been because of little media coverage locally?

Guys meron bang mga bars na open pag may live na UFC sa cable? Like, is Hooters open pag may UFC sa tanghali? I thought it would be cool to watch the fights while drinking with your buddies at a place like that. Nakakabato kasi manood sa bahay.

For the past 2 live UFC events, Balls has sponsored get-togethers at Outback in Libis and in Glorietta (I think). Each person who attends get 1 free Colt 45 beer

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship world light heavyweight champion Quinton (Rampage) Jackson is in Vancouver to star as BA Baracus in an upcoming movie version of The A-Team.

...and this, while it's good for Rampage, screwed up UFC 107 scheduled at Rampage's hometown of Memphis, TN. So now, instead of having 2 main event fights for 107, it'll only feature BJ Penn vs. Diego "YES!!!" Sanchez for the Lightweight strap.
