It's now obvious, Lyoto is being bypassed for the title shot. How many agree that a match between Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva COULD be interesting? A careful, calculated, elusive style versus precision striking with the two both having sound ground games. One puzzle could finally be solved...

Look at it this way, since Lyoto is not going to get a title shot at 205 lbs. anytime soon, he could cut weight and fight at 185 lbs. With Anderson basically going through all possible contenders, a title shot for Lyoto could come as soon as his second fight at 185 lbs.

They are wasting talent by making it take a backseat to celebrity but that's business I guess...

Definitely a business. Lyoto is a technical fighter but then again, you also have to give the fans entertaining fights.

Now, imagine if Lyoto went up against Arona, perhaps even some undercards might entertain fans more

Does Wand still train in Xtreme Couture!? All I know he just did a couple of sessions there before his fight with Chuck Lidell. Anyways Wand vs. Rampage 3 will be fireworks for New Yers Eve for sure! Kimbo got KTFO in 14 secs. huh!? What a upset?! NOT! Hehe... :thumbsupsmiley:

By the way Lyoto will get his shot at the title in the future! UFC just wants to have a TUF vs. TUF title match! As both fighters are marketable and known in the US more than Lyoto.

Yes Wand still does train with Xtreme Couture. He also trained with them for his 37 second massacre of Keith Jardine.

As for Kimbo Slice. As has been said before. I think the man's really more hype than fight. He does have all the physical tools though and given a proper training camp and a good team I think he can be competitive.

It could be interesting but I think this won't be happening (anytime soon at least). If I recall correctly both The Spider and the Dragon train under the Blackhouse MMA team. No way Lyoto is gonna come down a weight class to face a teammate (well for the right money perhaps but that's still unlikely).
