privopraha
Maybe we can also include in our prayers the speedy recovery of Henry Teves. Hes been very supportive of the local MMA (URCC) all these years and we cannot afford another loss. Henry was injured in the bombing of the Houes of Representatives. Many thanks! :goatee: :hypocritesmiley: Quote Link to comment

rickyg_zip
Read article here. For me, naniniwala ako pero matatagalan pa kasi medyo stable na ang foundations ng boxing. Quote Link to comment
Larry
MMA still has a long way to go before overtaking boxing, it's getting there though. Here are the top PPV buys of 2006 (not sure about 2007 numbers): Most PPV buys, JAN-OCT 20061. BOX Oscar DeLa Hoya vs. Ricardo Mayorga 925,0002. UFC Tito Ortiz vs. Ken Shamrock 775,0003. UFC Matt Hughes vs. B.J. Penn 700,0004. WWE Wrestlemania 636,0005. UFC Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie 600,0006. UFC Chuck Liddell vs. Renato Sobral 500,0007. UFC Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin 425,0008. BOX Shane Mosely vs. Fernando Vargas 420,0009. UFC Chuck Liddell vs. Randy Couture 400,00010.BOX Floyd Mayweather vs. Zab Judah 375,000  you can't just erase over 100 years of history and say boxing will be dead in a few years, there will come a time that both boxing and MMA will be as popular as each other, or maybe MMA will be slightly ahead of boxing. The fact remains that there are a lot of people that simply do NOT like MMA. These people get bored by long drawn out battles on the ground. For every crushing head kick by crocop, there are about 3 fights that feature grappling that just don't get people excited. Especially for UFC fans (Pride fans are different); you don't see them cheer when the guy on the bottom gets a sweep and establishes side control. Fans don't get crazy about establishing position and gaining leverage, which is about 80% of all grappling. Boxing is boxing and world class boxers will always make more money than MMA fighters. Mayweather can make 17-20M fighting Hatton, even if you combine all the salaries of all UFC fighters for a year it still won't equal to 17M but it will get there if UFC and Dana White gets it's act together. rickyg_zip
true! ang kuripot kasi ni Dana White! hopefully baguhin na ito ni Mark Cuban sa kanyang own MMA promotion. nagpromise sya na he'll pay MMA fighters what they deserve. Quote Link to comment

wEbStAr
I don't think MMA will completely erase boxing. The sport will always be there. Quote Link to comment
hardtohandle
It simply wont happen in our lifetime... Quote Link to comment
