Drilon bill gives Duterte extra powers to solve Metro traffic

aking the first step towards solving debilitating traffic jams in Metro Manila and other key cities, reelected Senator Franklin Drilon on Friday filed a bill granting President Rodrigo Duterte emergency powers to solve the transportation crisis.

Drilon’s Senate Bill No. 11, or the “Transportation Crisis Act of 2016,” would grant Duterte the power to use alternative methods of procurement for “the construction, repair, rehabilitation, improvement or maintenance of transportation projects” that would reduce traffic congestion.

The senator said the bill, if approved, will give the executive emergency powers for two years.

Now how often do we see something like this? Pagkatapos manumpa, yung mga nagrarally imbes ipagtabuyan, iwater cannon, at paluin sa ulo, pinapasok ng malacanang, pinakain, at hinarap mismo ng bagong presidente. Duterte deserves kudos for this. It is a step in the right direction.

Ang hirap talaga kasi sa iba dyan, imbes gustuhin magtagumpay liderato ni Duterte, para bang mas inaantay pa nila ito sumabit. Bakit pag sumabit ba sya sino magbabayad nito? Taong bayan din di ba?

 

Huwag kasi puro reklamo at sumbat. Wala mangyayari sa atin kung puro tayo crab mentality

Edmund Dantes, I voted for Duterte not because I am a fan or supporter but because he most represented the change I wanted to see in government. It's not about wanting to see him fail, because we all lose then, but he set up expectations so high, he has no option but to deliver. I am all for that and I will help him achieve reduced drug and crime affectation in 6 months, not only because I work in the field but also because it is a personal advocacy I am passionate about.

 

 

hellyeah, hindi po, maling-mali ka. Ang naghatid kay Duterte sa Malacanang is the force of 16 million people who puke at the thought of six more years of Daang Matuwid.

 

Tama po kayo maam hindi lang yun pangako ang nagdala sa kanya sa malacanang. Kasi kung pangako lang, di dapat panalo na si Binay kasi sya yun madaming magagandang pangako. Ultimo viagra at diaper libre na. Me cake ka pa sa birthday mo. O di san ka pa?

 

All this time we wanted a leader that truly represented us common people. Not some elite haciendero who tries to be "makamasa". O kaya yun pilit na ibebenta yun sarili na dating mahirap pero ilang dekada naman na nabubuhay na parang hari. Duterte is relatable. He reflects the peoples frustration with current leadership. Puro mga bulaklaking pananalita pero di naman nararamdaman ng tao na me gobyernong kumakatawan sa kanila. Duterte is a commoner. Kilos, salita, pati bahay ay parang yun satin din halos. Kumakain din sa karinderiya ng walang kyeme. I think ito ang nagpapanalo kay Duterte more than his promises. Its the same reason din bakit si Leni naman nanalo na vice president.

 

Now lets be real about the 3-6 months promise. Lets face it, at some point us who gave him a vote doubted this is attainable or even possible. Ano sya superman? Pero tulad ng sabi ko lahat naman ng pulitiko mangangako eh. Ang tanong na lang, makikita ba natin at the very least na subukang tuparin ito? Well nakita natin, mataas morale ng mga pulis natin at masisipag sila ngayon. Kaliwat kanan din hulihan. But will this be enough? Maybe not.

 

But think about it. Even though they fail trying, for sure me maganda ng ma-acomplish ito di ba? Kung sablay eh di aralin kung ano pa magagawa tapos subukan ulit. And by setting the bars high you at least give them a reason to work really hard. Kesa naman you set low expectations tapos kuntento na dun, eh di tama, daang matuwid na lang tayo ulit kung ganun din lang.
