Nakakafrustrate naman talaga yung nakaraang administration(s). Nauunawaan ko kung bakit si Duterte ang nanaig. Duterte is a product of a protest vote. Tapos, naging populist president siya na depende kung sino ang kausap. Nakakafrustrate din na grabe ang violence, grabe (pa rin) ang corruption kahit siya na ang nanalo. Hindi ko siya binoto at wala akong pagsisisi na hindi ko siya binoto. Hindi ko pa rin maintindihan kung bakit people are turning a blind eye on unjust killings, impunity at anti-masa na economics.

Yes, the past X or so presidents were so disappointing, so I agree Duterte got elected because of protest votes, also.

 

And I also agree Duterte’s stance randomly changes depending on his current mood. He’s just like the rest: a trapo who protects his allies and kisses the public’s behinds. He just expresses this in an unusual manner, but he’s still like the rest when it comes to self interest (and I’m not just talking about money).

Only the middle class benefited on lowering income tax and not the majority min. wage earners.

"Lowering the income tax" is not accurate.

They increased the threshold of taxable income such that those earning PhP250k (?) per year need not pay income tax. The tax burden are taken up by other specific consumption tax measures and by those who are earning more.

 

This is what I have been arguing for. Majority of the people are already contributing to the tax revenue through the VAT and other consumption tax system. They don't need to pay income tax.

 

One thing I hope they add to TRAIN is that the able-bodied citizens who refuse to work and thus, donot contribute to to the nation's productivity, must PAY the government a certain premium before they can avail the government healthcare and social services.

The subway project is good.

 

But I'm just hoping when it is finally operational, they will maintain this system in excellent condition. That's the problem I see with all our previous MRT/LRT lines: they build it then they just let it rot. The stations aren't even well-maintained.

 

This is not a criticism of Duterte admin, but of how we generally launch projects like this... then neglect it.

No, whoever wins the election, whether pro or con dds, it will still largely depend on the MRT/LRT operators sense of honor and pride.

 

And balancing human rights vs convenience? Guess which one Ill pick?

In the real world oo di mangyayari yan kasi sabi ko ingrained na yan sa Filipino mentality. Kaya kahit puro Duterte legion ang manalo ganyan pa din magiging kalagayan nyan.

 

Mas dadali pa nga magiging pangongotong nila kasi wala nang sagabal na oposisyon so wala nang mag e expose sa kanila.

 

Naka 2 taon na ang DDS admin. Ano nang improvements sa MRT facilities natin, for example? Gumanda ba ang service? Kahit hindi sa mga trains... yun mga escalators/elevators ba at least gumagana sa lahat ng stations?

 

Napagana ba yung inorder na bagon ng dating admin para mapalitan na yung mga sira? Kelan lang naman nabalik yung maint. service sa dating nag aayos dito. Hopefully mas marami ng train na gumana after dumating na ang mga spare parts needed. I'm hopeful after the holy week break mas lessen na yung bug down ng MRT.

Sa nababalitaan ko last time on-spec naman yun bagong bagon. Ayaw lang talaga gamitin ng DDS for some reason.
