The mark of a good leader is learning when to say sorry when the leader commits a mistake. i'm not talking about the "i am sorry" show of GMA during the hello garci controversy. plastic yun! anyway, what am i driving at?

nagkamali ka sa pagbintang kay henry villarica of the villarica pawnshop. i hope you have read de quiros article the other day when henry villarica explained his side. he has been dutifully paying his taxes. the one you are accusing is the brother, william villarica. and he has not been paying taxes since the w. villarica pawnshop has been closed for business since 2002. but the damage has been done to henry villarica.

i think you and kim henares owe him an apology. be humble enough to admit your mistake when you are in the wrong. it's the least you can do.

Noy,

Napulot ko 'tong "dear P-noy" from Philippine Star web on-line readers' reaction:

Say goodbye to tourism, Sec. Lim!

Dear (AB)Noy,

You don't not seem to grasp the gravity of what has happened, 11 hours of hostage crisis with foreigners involved and with people around the world watching, but you can never be found, Donald Chang was unable to reach you even after repeated calls, and ONLY AFTER ALMOST 3 HOURS that the the crisis was over did you face the media to express your dismay(?) of what has happened, READING A STATEMENT THAT TOOK YOUR STAFF 3 HOURS TO MAKE, you don't even seem to realize the negative impact of the hostage crisis outcome to our country's foreign relations with Hong Kong and the Chinese govt. not to mention the negative impact of this incident to our tourism industry. What's unforgivable for me is the way you READ A STATEMENT after the hostage crisis with 8 FOREIGN NATIONALS DEAD.

I'm no expert when it comes to public speaking but in cases like this, you don't express your dismay or disappointment by READING A STATEMENT because it does not look genuine especially that you are the PRESIDENT of the country, READING A STATEMENT ARE FOR UNDER-SECRETARIES, SECRETARIES or CABINET MEMBERS, as the President in cases this magnitude, you should SAY your statement and think on top of your head and not READ a statement.

And to add insult to injury, you can be seen SMIRKING and even SMILING when you went to the Quirino Grandstand to "inspect" the scene of the hostage drama. You could have been more prudent or at least conscious enough to know that you are being filmed smiling while at the crime scene knowing the seriousness of the (unfortunate) event.

...unable to reach you even after repeated calls, and ONLY AFTER ALMOST 3 HOURS that the the crisis was over did you face the media to express your dismay(?) of what has happened, READING A STATEMENT THAT TOOK YOUR STAFF 3 HOURS TO MAKE ...

...can be seen SMIRKING and even SMILING ...

Read the 'unable to reach' part sa CNN website kahapon. I'm not happy that he was nowhere to be found.

Then again, I read this:

The President explained that he was monitoring the hostage drama from the Palace but left the matter to concerned police authorities for them to effectively handle.

...

“Nalaman ko po itong insidenteng ito kaninang umaga pa po actually, at mula nung umaga, tayo ay kumakausap na sa ilan sa mga kinauukulang awtoridad. Hindi ko naman po siguro kakailanganin pang i-publicize ‘yong mga ginagawa po natin. (I learned about the incident early Monday morning. Since then, we were already talking to some concerned authorities. I don’t have to publicize my every move),” he said.

Somehow leads me to think that those words are half baked, trying to worm out an explanation of what he was doing. Again. A bus hostage drama taking 11hrs, using the coconut, IS NOT EFFECTIVE. True, having every move publicized is distasteful (reminiscent of GMA) pero I still can't believe steps were indeed taken. I guess it was the staff who tried to 'contact' concerned authorities - which points to ineffective staff.

...

“Isa sa mga pinaka-mahirap na parte ‘nung araw natin ay ‘yong mga pag-aawat nitong mga nag-mi-miron (One of the difficult parts of my day was the stopping of those nosy observers),” he said.

Citing an example, the President said he asked Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo to restrain an official from the National Police Commission from further meddling in the hostage incident. Without identifying the person, he said this police official immediately rejected the demands of the hostage-taker despite ongoing efforts to secure the safe release of the hostages.

We'll never know, right? No names were mentioned. It was between the official and P Aquino's staff. 'Nuff said.

...

http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/273922/aquino-explains-his-stand-mondays-hostage-crisis

Another thing I really didn't like about what he said last night was his larger concern about media suppression. Common sense lang. It really makes me wonder if you're truly concerned about the well being of the hostages that day.

Where were you yesterday?! Don't tell me you were hiding under your bed!!! Your statement and your facial expression in the crime scene was disappointing.

tito noy, it was pathetic..very, very pathetic...have you forgotten about this: prevention is better then the cure

now you're scrambling doing damage control that is costly and difficult. where will you get the money to pay for the hospitalization, indemnification, etc...and expensive pr campaign now your govt is cash-strapped? impose vat on hostage taking?

you were able to rush to the scene in the aftermath, but how come you were not able to this when the situation was critical and the "slaughter" has not happened yet? perhaps, you could have prevented the slaughter because the mere sight of your smiling face could have pacified mendoza and brought a smile to his face, too ...and because of this, perhaps, he willingly put down his arms and ran to you for a hug while the hostages were happily getting off the bus.

tito noy, we your bosses would never bother if you used wangwang to rush to the scene.

sorry to disagree with you and your officials if you consider the hostage-taking just a police matter. you could have stepped in at once because it was also a very urgent matter of national interest. why?

1. because the hostages are hongkong nationals

2. because hongkong provides employment to hundreds of thousands of ofws

3. because the ofws help keep our economy afloat

4. because failure to save the hostages would bring a lot of negative effects to our country in general and to your administration in particular?

did you and your officials analyzed the situation and made the above considerations? if you did, we your bosses would have seen you rushing to the scene like you did when you were eager and excited to go to the same place where your inauguration was held. and you arrived very early at the quirino grandstand...and you did even used wangwang to travel from quezon ave to luneta. yes you can use wangwang this time even if malacanang is much much nearer to luneta

the situation could have been different have you or your next highest official stepped in before the famous sunset manila bay emerged. the situation could have been resolved peacefully before this time...and perhaps you, mendoza, and the hostages could have relaxed your nerves by watching together happily ever after a stressful day.

Dear Mr. President,

I wonder why so many people seem to think that the president of a nation of 90 million odd people should be in charge of a hostage taking situation? Isn't that why we have police officers for? To rescue hostages? Unless certain citizens assume that the president has nothing better to do than play Rambo. Its obvious that everyone has 20/20 hindsight, gleefully pointing the finger at someone, anyone else than the true culprit, which is to say, the deranged lunatic that held so many people hostage in a bus while the PNP procrastinated and wasted time.

While we are at it, it seems rather self-evident that the PNP is woefully incapable of doing anything more than adding to the graft and corruption, perhaps a total revamp is in order, why not begin by asking the Department of (in)Justice and the Office of the Ambut-man to terminate the services of these corrupt and rotund police officers who are experts at extracting money from the citizens but are unable to protect and serve them.

Dear AbNoy,

Dear Mr. President,

It is clear that some people will blame you for everything, these same ignoramuses would forgive your predecessor all of her crimes. Please ignore said people with room temperature (at the artic circle) IQs. Although, in the end, I suppose he has a point, the president is ultimately in charge. Under the tenure of which president was the budget of the PNP wasted for European vacations?

For that matter, should your predecessor be blamed for each and every act of theft, violence, and other assorted crimes done by any and all perpetrators during her term?

Ah, the amazing one-sided vision of cretins and idiots.

Dear Abnoy,

You were quick to fire the career chief weather forecaster for late in releasing

weather update afgter the typhoon change it coursed. You blame someone for nature's

wrath.

Here you are, a crisis initiated and participated by your own men in the PNP. Yet, you

being their commander in chief, have only could accept lapses in how the crisis transpired.

You still have the guts to admit that & yet you can't even fire any of your minions who had

caused great humiliation to the organization, to the goverment as the whole world watch in

disbelief. Why can't you not fire a police official the same way you fired the chief forecaster?

pulis patola mo. Come on Abnoy, show to them that you have guts, your a man & your the man.

Next time, don't dare send Kris to visit the victims specially when they are foreigners.

Besides,

Hongkees hate a bitch. Ever wonder why they import prostitutes in HK is because wala silang whore.

Dear Noynoy,

I wouldn’t expect the president to go to the crime scene. That’s clearly police matter. But, you should have let Mayor Lim handle the matter instead of your amateur DILG Secretary.

Mayor Lim has already made moves to call for an immediate review of the case, on the concurrence of the Ombudsman. Decisive move like that has been proven in the past to diffuse potentially deadly situations.

Fire whoever came up with the idea of arresting the hostage taker’s family members on live TV coverage – to scare Mendoza thinking that if he has hostages, you have his family as hostage, too?. That tactic only works in the movies. Was it your DILG Secretary’s idea? did he sanction it? If you notice, the situation worsened when your novice cabinet secretary came to the scene.

Fire Coloma, too. He has no business making statements that the hostage incident will not affect the tourism industry while the crisis is still going on. The Hongkong authorities learned about his statement and promptly issued a black advisory to Hongkong travellers going to the Philippines. Now, you have to send no less than the Secretary Romulo of Foreign Affairs to China to beg for forgiveness. You should have sent Coloma to China instead of Romulo, then fire him later when he returns.

Noynoy:

Read newspaper commentaries about you (Daily Tribune):

"There is also something to be said of Noynoy’s strange silence and inaccessibility during that long negotiation period, especially when he should have touched base with Chinese high officials, as well as Hong Kong’s chief executive, Donald Tsang, who was frantically trying to get through to Noynoy — for high level discussions on the crisis. That is unforgivable for a head of state and government, to keep out of sight and maintain silence all throughout — waiting for some three hours before he finally spoke at a press conference, giving no substantial details at all, except to convey his condolences. That is not what a leader of a nation is. That is the sign of a weak leadership."

him & his minions after their fiasco. Kung ayaw nilang makarinig ng

batikos, gumawa sila ng tama !!!

Dear Abnoy,

If there is someone you can immediately fire now is no other than your

PR man, Sonny Coloma. In this monring's UKG interview, he has the guts

to put the blame to previous administration and he can vehemently deny that

HK Chief Executive Donald Tsang did not gave you a call during the height

of the crisis.

How can someone with such a position have the guts to claim infront of a

live telecast if he got his brin where it should be. Bakit kailangan nyang

What is

Donald Tsang did call & they did not just bother to talk to the guy dahil hindi

ito by the name of Sonny Coloma. he prefer pouring more gasoline intot he fire, rather

than take the flak, learn & improve from there. nagtututo pa ang gago, makapili yata

ang lolo nitong gagong si coloma.

Magresign kana mr Coloma, napaka bobo mo!

Marcos has nothing to do with lots of Kudeta and Mendiola massacre. Pero kay marcos isinisisi noon.

Now nauulit nananaman.
