incregobil
An I pad is an oversized i touch. As with all technology, more so from Steve Jobs, those who buy first generation are beta testers who pay for the experience. When do you think next iteration of i pad will come out? Before end of 2010 kaya? What improvements will it have?next year meron ulit yan. knowing apple yearly naglalabas ng new products kaya bilis maluma ng gadgets from them. mahal pa naman. actually, the iPhone was born out of the iPad they made a prototype or concept of the iPad tpos Steve Jobs had an idea that the tablet could be a great phone so they decided to focus in making a phone instead. hehe..galing talaga ni Jobs. He single handedly revived apple(macintosh) Quote Link to comment
amante
i had a chance to use an i-pad quite extensively yesterday it's processing speed is surprisingly fast, that much I can say. it does lack the tactile interface and much of the functions and user accesses you would expect from a netbook at 1/4 the price. at the end of the day, its just an over-glorified and slick e-book that resembles an i-touch! AND I STILL WANT ONE!!! Edited June 8, 2010 by amante Quote Link to comment
scorpionking2
There is no cheap place because it is officially not yet launched here. Next month pa yata. So they guys selling it are really overpricing like crazy. Kinakatay nila yun mga hindi makapaghintay. I got mine in the US and with shipping and handling a 32 GB 3g unit was about P36k+. I saw a shop in Park Square selling a 16 GB wifi only unit for P40k. Hold-up na harap-harapan. I know some flight crews smuggle units in and I have been offered P35k for a 32gb wifi only unit. That contact I can pass to you if you PM me. Bahala na kayo magusap kung gusto mo. Wow, kung ganyan pala ang kalakaran dyan, I might as well bring a couple of iPads when I get home next month. Magkano ko kaya ibebenta? Quote Link to comment

philstar
Although it is true that the IPad is just an oversized iPod Touch. No one can argue that its bigger screen makes its use far more exceptional than its diminutive smaller brother itouch. Although, I use my iPod touch for reading pdfs, and books, I still cherish the dream of upgrading to an iPad someday in the near future for lesser scrolling and larger and more information in one glance. Yes, it still is an oversized iPod touch but hey its like comparing having a motorcycle and having a van for a family car. Yes. I can go from point A to point B on the either machine. But having a van saves me more trips especially when I need to bring stuff to and fro. No one can argue the thrill and the practicality of having a motorcycle when I ride solo. But then again, having a VAN is another target when "capacity" is needed. Yes. I surely would wish I also have an iPad of my own. Quote Link to comment
Fusarium_jimini
Currently using one as of now..user-friendly, simplicity is the key..even my dad who abhors laptops and desktops is ready to ditch his electric typewriter just to get his hands on one.. Laki tuloy ng utang ko (utang na loob and utang literally) to my younger bro.. Funny, mas mabilis ako mag-type with the iPad unit only instead of using teir separate keyboard dock, hehehe.. In my opinion, having a webcam and other extras on the iPad is not an issue... Baka magmukha kang eng-eng when using a webcam-equipped iPad.. Tip nga pala for those who can't wait for its launch here next month: Ask a favor from a friend or relative who is a flight crew in of those international airlines bound for L.A. Or Vegas (kung kaya, yung mga nasa PAL).. Huwag kayo papabili sa mga kakilala nyong flight attendants.. Yung customs natin alam na ang kalakaran nyan.. Better if you ask a pilot friend or relative to get you one, alam nila saan ilalagay para hindi ma-tax, hehehe.. My brother got mine in L.A.. Huwag na kayong umasang makakuha sa San Fo, puro tourist spots dun.. Peace! Edited June 12, 2010 by Fusarium_jimini Quote Link to comment

Hanggang 3 o 5 pwede mo bitbitin harapharapan. If you bring in commercial quantities (by the dozen) you will pay an advanced sale tax not import duty. Customs will chek flight crew ot because of the comuter equipment but because of the other highly taxable items such as unset precious stones, jewelry, and sometimes even banned items. But computers? Nah. Quote Link to comment

magtatah0ng
If youtube/Google switches to HTML5 then everybody else will probably follow. I always skip Flash intros anyway - way too much fluff that eat up bandwidth. I prefer to dive straight to the info. Unless of course the info is the Flash media itself (like youtube or... porn sites). But websites that rely on FLV are too dependent on one company. If that company turns evil then they're totally exposed. Just like back in the 90's when Compuserve and Unisys tried to hold everybody hostage on the use of the GIF image format. Due to a quirky patent they wanted you to pay a license fee just for having a gif image on your website. Quote Link to comment
ganid
I think the i pad is IT. All it has to do now is be able to do word processing, worksheets and the like. Apple says with iworks, it will get the job done. I am a newbie. Is Iworks compatible (as in interchangable files) with Office? How is iworks (specifically for the i pad) compared to Office? Thank you in advance to anyone who can give me guidance regarding the above issue. 0 Quote Link to comment
