Yung mga kuliglig sa Quiapo at Sta. Cruz, dumadami at nag mu multiply araw araw, eh, may press release ka na hanggang Dec. 1 na lang sila, eh, dumadami pa rin! MAGKANO BA, FRED LIM???? MAGKANO ang pamasahe sa kanila hehehehe. LAW APPLIES TO ALL, OTHERWISE KOKOTONGAN KA NAMIN. di ba mga PIRATED DVD seller? P100.00 kada stall kada araw sa mga pulis at City hall.

i think tama naman na i-ban ni lim ang kuliglig. motorized vehicle ito na hindi registered. dapat magkaroon muna ng approval sa pagkaroon ng prangkisa ang mga kuliglig dahil considered as common carriers ang mga ito. para rin ito sa proteksyon ng mga nakakarami.

 

i believe allowed naman ata gumamit ng padyak, which is a kuliglig na walang motor.

 

 

mahirap naman na i-ugnay ang kuliglig sa hostage drama. bus at hindi kuliglig yung hinostage ni mendoza.

Dapat iparehistro lahat ng pakyak and mga bicycles na ginagamit sa kalsada...have plates for them para they will be forced to follow traffic rules otherwise their plates will get confiscated and the cant travel on the roads..they are such nuisance on the roads because they absolutely refuse to obey traffic laws...they go on one way streets like they own the road and cars have to give way pa to these assholes. Sobrang gago pa mga yan. Pag nakakagasgas pa sorry lang ibabayad sa yo. Partly to blame din yung mga traffic enforcers and mga police for just turning a blind eye to what these assholes are doing instead of setting them straight kasi alam ng mga police wala silang makukuha dyan sa mga yan.

 

I think its ok lang naman for them to be on the streets of manila because they can help people get around the crowded streets of manila and they can ease traffic congestion by lessening the need for cars but the problem is they have to follow traffic rules like everyone else. I think the main issue here is how to get these pedicabs to follow traffic rules.

Kuligligs' find ally in Jinggoy

MANILA, Philippines — Instead of looking at “kuligligs” or motorized pedicabs as “pests of the road,” these should instead be appreciated as another characteristic of Filipino ingenuity and a transportation that would cater to the needs of daily local commuters, Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada on Friday said.

 

Estrada, who chairs the Senate committee on Labor and Employment, said it is high time the government study the possibility of introducing “kuliglig” in the mainstream transportation sector instead of dealing with the issues of legality through violent means.

 

The senator said this in reference to the violent dispersal of “kuliglig” drivers who earlier protested the Manila City government’s move to ban their operations.

 

“In resolving this issue, thorough studies of the matter as well as extensive consultations with all concerned sectors should be undertaken,” said Estrada.

 

Estrada also said he will initiate feasibility studies of having kuligligs” registered, covered by traffic rules and regulations, meeting safety and public service standards especially for passengers and paying corresponding taxes and fees to the government.

 

He noted that motorized pedicabs actually help advance local commuters needs for short-distance traveling such as to and from nearby marketplace and grocery stores, drugstores, health centers, schools and the main transport terminals.

 

The problem with “kuligligs”, Estrada noted is that they are not registered with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) among other issues.

Correct! Also sidecars should be registered with the LTO, after all, they are a form of land transportation. They should be also given traffic citations when they go in a one-way street. There is an MMDA ordinance that states that tricycles and pedicabs can't use main thoroughfares yet they still use it at nagkacounter flow pa.

Im not exactly against kuligligs but I do think they should be regulated. Mga pedicab drivers naman ayoko kasi garapalan din kung magviolate ng traffic rules. Ang lakas nila magcounterflow for example.

And whats the deal with jeepneys here that dont turn on their headlights at night? Isnt there a law against that? They pose a danger not only to themselves and their passengers but to other cars on the road as well. Somebody ought to do something about the jeepneys who make the bridge at the corner of sta cruz and dasmarinas their terminal. Mayor Lim wag lang kain ng kain sa president. Magtrabaho k naman.

No, I think they should really be banned. Regulating them is not the solution. Pedicabs mga iyan and to top it all, they all violate the law, bawal ang tricycle and pedicabs sa MAIN ROADS, yung mga roads na dinadaanan ng mga ruta ng jeepneys. Bakit sila nandun? Paanong regulating kuligligs, eh, wala naman sa charter ng LTFRB ang ganung sasakyan? Kaya wala silang license plate. I think it all boils down to Mayor Press Release, galit at suntok ng lamesa.
